I always enjoy a good cemetery find and back history and Edward Gorey is no exception 😎 No man can be without acclaim when he shows how much he loved animals and provided for them in death 😊 Thanks for telling his story and showing his last resting place 🐾🐾🐺
Very well done. He always had such a distinct pen and ink technique and way of drawing it was hard to miss. I always had a feeling movies like Nightmare Before Christmas even though done in stop motion clay gave a nod to his style and technique. I think he influenced many mediums and artist.
Cool Gorey information. I remember working at a bookstore in the 1990's and seeing alot of Edward Gorey collectibles on sale like puzzles, cards, limited edition books, etc. I passed on it thinking it was a bit touristy. Not too long later Edward Gorey died, now it makes me cry to see the prices of that suff on e-Bay!!! What an influentail author & artist!!
I love the animation at the start of "Mystery"! And Lemony Snicket is one of my go to movies! Thank you for introducing me to this marvelous man!! I will check out his books. 👍
📖 The story behind Edward Gorey was very interesting . 📖 Also the Cemetery was quite beautiful, it might sound a bit morbid but it is what I see. 📖 Thank you for this video God bless and take care. 📖 Mrs. Dell 📖
Mrs.Dell not at all. I actually think cemetery’s can be very beautiful and are full of interesting and amazing art. I used to photograph tombstones back when I was in art school and travel to many cemeteries finding the most beautiful and amazing pieces of sculpture.
@@scottbartlett2087 Thank you Scott, I think we have some of the most beautiful Cemeteries 🕊here in south Louisiana. Yes I look at statues and plaques as amazing works of art. Some of the most beautiful and interesting Cemeteries are in the New Orleans area. If you are ever in the NO area please check it out. Mrs. Dell
Very interesting video Cashew Paul. I have never read anything he wrote and now I definitely will. Thanks for the recommendations and sharing your knowledge. Stay safe.

Not familiar with him but definitely heard of Mystery on PBS.

Do you like Charles Addams as well Cashew Paul? Addams also had that dark-wit Gorey employed. Cool new video!
Thanks Paul 10 Hats. Yes, I like Addams as well.
Interesting. Great to know he was a cat person. And left part of his estate to help animals.
Thanks for watching Mary Max KATS! I thought of you when I filmed this. His cat drawings are wonderful.
