***** I agree! Everything seems to be happening at a REALLY fast pace! Hope I'm wrong, but I see maybe 2 more seasons out of this show. I almost freaked out when I read on Yahoo and TV Online that season 3 has been trimmed to 18 episodes instead of 22. The speculation is that KW pregnancy will make it almost impossible to shoot the last 4 episodes.
I'm not an Olivia and Fitz fan but now after watching Scandal over again, I can see why Olivia is forever conflicted about him. This moment is beautiful from not saying goodbye, to the way Olivia looks and thinks about the house. The selling line to me was actually in the 5 seconds before she said them. That hope and realisation is pans across Olivia's face. Kerry nailed it.

Fitz found love where it wasn’t supposed to be but sometimes fate shows us that there are other people out here that we can have a life with that we haven’t met yet Olivia is the missing piece of the puzzle that fitz needed in order to experience love like we all should do he’s made mistakes just like Olivia, Mellie, Cyrus, and everyone that works at the White House but he can’t help the fact that he fell in love with someone who makes him complete and happy. Mellie, and fitz weren’t each other soulmates like him and liv they both married each other for political reasons and I know some of you might think that fitz was just the one doing the cheating but let’s be honest here Mellie, was cheating on fitz with Andrew Nicols.

Really wanted hear Liv say ILY but considering all that has happened I guess it's too tall an order to fill just yet. Now as a lot of people have stated before the timeline for this house to be built and set up some what definitely doesn't fit with the story line thus far and leaves us wondering and curious. Hell we know how Shonda likes to put in time jumps and whatnot so that could be where the dream of Vermont came from and we're just now being shown that end result.
Actually Vermont is where James and Cyrus got married and that's where Fitz gave Olivia her ring that she wears. We find that out the next season. Also it wasn't a dream she had. Episode 1 of this season he told her that in another reality they are married with 4 kids in Vermont and he is the mayor and she makes jam. Apparently he has had this house for awhile now.

It explains the positions they were in when they were making love. They did not have alot of love scenes but yes this one was special and significant because it was in the Olitz home. This is a secret rendezvous between the president and the woman he loves that isn't his wife.
I actually feel sorry for mellie, I mean how low does your self esteem have to be to want compete with this. And btw i am not buying that crap that shonda pulled last week. If we hadn't seen mellie getting all excited around papa grant in an earlier episode it might have been more believable.
Well in all fairness, Mellie doesn't know about the house. . . Thank God. I think Mellie truly doesn't understand the type of love Fitz has for Liv. Mellie keeps trying to make their relationship all about sex, which isn't true. Liv and Fitz have been together without having sex, they just hold each other. Mellie doesn't understand that type of love. That is why she keeps calling Liv a whore. She can't begin to understand what Olitz have shared together, so in her head, Fitz will come to his senses and back to her.
At what moment did he feel that they had a chance, that made him buy this land and have this house built? Was it when he EARNED her? Would that fit into the timeline for the house to have been completed? Was Vermont Olivia's dream also?

I understand completely what you are saying. I am now totally both Team Mellie and Team Olitz. And so when Fitz blithely says to Mellie: "Don't wait up" as he prepares to go in pursuit of Olivia yet again, it no longer quite feels like something she deserves and Fitz comes across as being something of a callous, indifferent SOB when it comes to her feelings. (Especially now that we know a bit more of her background story.) But on the other hand, Fitz has made it clear to Mellie that he no longer is in their marriage and that he wants a divorce. He is not being deceitftul about his position. I mean, how much clearer can he be when he has now said to her face regarding his affair with Liv: "That is me being in love with another woman." How many more times does she have to be rejected and dismissed by this man before she catches a clue? I am rooting for Mellie not to "win" back Fitz. I mean, what a hollow victory that would be! No. Instead I am rooting for her to free herself from him and Olivia and move on. Find her own happiness and a man that appreciates her for what she has to offer. For a man who deserves her, Mellie could be a real prize and blessing. But as long as she is emotionally entangled with Fitz and his nonsense (and don't get me wrong, I LOVE Fitz), there is no space for a new man to offer up his version of a house built from the ground up as a symbol of his love.
This! I've cracked jokes and poked fun at all of the characters, but there's no woman I want victory for more than I do Mellie. I cheer for her, but not that she and Fitz find love again, but that she rediscovers herself.
I believe Fitz was indifferent to Mellie long before Olivia came along. (Season 1 epi 6). Something happened to them that we still have yet to see. Fitz had some love for Mellie (not the magnitude or depth he has for Olivia) & on some level I believe he still cares for her but I believe Mellie is to take some of the blame for his indifferent attitude towards. Something happened between them & I think we may find out what when the re-election campaign comes
i can agree that something else happened, but they loved each other. When his father raped her something inside her died and we all saw it. Cyrus' words resonated with her that night and she took on the role full force. She is to be partially blamed for the deterioration of their marriage because she changed into a monster and Fitz still doesn't know why, but Fitz is to be blamed too because he should have known that people don't just change like that overnight without a reason, there must have been something. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. We need more flashbacks to fully understand

I'm not an Olivia and Fitz fan but now after watching Scandal over again, I can see why Olivia is forever conflicted about him.
This moment is beautiful from not saying goodbye, to the way Olivia looks and thinks about the house. The selling line to me was actually in the 5 seconds before she said them. That hope and realisation is pans across Olivia's face. Kerry nailed it.

Really wanted hear Liv say ILY but considering all that has happened I guess it's too tall an order to fill just yet. Now as a lot of people have stated before the timeline for this house to be built and set up some what definitely doesn't fit with the story line thus far and leaves us wondering and curious. Hell we know how Shonda likes to put in time jumps and whatnot so that could be where the dream of Vermont came from and we're just now being shown that end result.
Actually Vermont is where James and Cyrus got married and that's where Fitz gave Olivia her ring that she wears. We find that out the next season. Also it wasn't a dream she had. Episode 1 of this season he told her that in another reality they are married with 4 kids in Vermont and he is the mayor and she makes jam. Apparently he has had this house for awhile now.

It explains the positions they were in when they were making love. They did not have alot of love scenes but yes this one was special and significant because it was in the Olitz home. This is a secret rendezvous between the president and the woman he loves that isn't his wife.

Well in all fairness, Mellie doesn't know about the house. . . Thank God. I think Mellie truly doesn't understand the type of love Fitz has for Liv. Mellie keeps trying to make their relationship all about sex, which isn't true. Liv and Fitz have been together without having sex, they just hold each other. Mellie doesn't understand that type of love. That is why she keeps calling Liv a whore. She can't begin to understand what Olitz have shared together, so in her head, Fitz will come to his senses and back to her.
These writers came up with this RAPE idea to late. Mellie couldn't wait to hug him when she saw him, if he had raped her that wouldn't have happened!!

Shonda did that intentionally to rev up the fan bases. For a long time nothing was competing for OLITZ. She's making it a quadrangle and sipping wine doing it.
I understand completely what you are saying. I am now totally both Team Mellie and Team Olitz. And so when Fitz blithely says to Mellie: "Don't wait up" as he prepares to go in pursuit of Olivia yet again, it no longer quite feels like something she deserves and Fitz comes across as being something of a callous, indifferent SOB when it comes to her feelings. (Especially now that we know a bit more of her background story.) But on the other hand, Fitz has made it clear to Mellie that he no longer is in their marriage and that he wants a divorce. He is not being deceitftul about his position. I mean, how much clearer can he be when he has now said to her face regarding his affair with Liv: "That is me being in love with another woman." How many more times does she have to be rejected and dismissed by this man before she catches a clue? I am rooting for Mellie not to "win" back Fitz. I mean, what a hollow victory that would be! No. Instead I am rooting for her to free herself from him and Olivia and move on. Find her own happiness and a man that appreciates her for what she has to offer. For a man who deserves her, Mellie could be a real prize and blessing. But as long as she is emotionally entangled with Fitz and his nonsense (and don't get me wrong, I LOVE Fitz), there is no space for a new man to offer up his version of a house built from the ground up as a symbol of his love.
This! I've cracked jokes and poked fun at all of the characters, but there's no woman I want victory for more than I do Mellie. I cheer for her, but not that she and Fitz find love again, but that she rediscovers herself.
I believe Fitz was indifferent to Mellie long before Olivia came along. (Season 1 epi 6). Something happened to them that we still have yet to see. Fitz had some love for Mellie (not the magnitude or depth he has for Olivia) & on some level I believe he still cares for her but I believe Mellie is to take some of the blame for his indifferent attitude towards. Something happened between them & I think we may find out what when the re-election campaign comes
i can agree that something else happened, but they loved each other. When his father raped her something inside her died and we all saw it. Cyrus' words resonated with her that night and she took on the role full force. She is to be partially blamed for the deterioration of their marriage because she changed into a monster and Fitz still doesn't know why, but Fitz is to be blamed too because he should have known that people don't just change like that overnight without a reason, there must have been something. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. We need more flashbacks to fully understand
