Forever Young Wins The Saudi Derby, Remains Unbeaten - Unofficial Derby Prep - 2/24/24

Japan's Forever Young, with jockey Ryusei Sakai, wins the 2024 Saudi Derby at King Abdulaziz Racecourse. The mile race was won in 1 minute 36.17 seconds. The Real Steel colt remains unbeaten in four races for trainer Yoshito Yahagi. This is not a Kentucky Derby prep but a main tune-up for next month's UAE Derby in Meydan. Runner up Book'em Danno is expected to return to the states for the Pat Day Mile. Bentornato faded to third after leading for most of the race. Follow along all season as we keep an eye on all the 2024 Kentucky Derby contenders.

Should have won the Derby if Sierra Leone was not bumping and leaning in on him down the stretch, costing the horse a length (and SE ground as well). I will be interested in seeing how Bookem Danno runs in the Stephen Foster.
