I’m a Young. My dad born in Fife. My grandfather Alexander Young was a world class drummer & moved his family to Canada when my dad was a child to work in BC. The name Alexander Young is still with us today in my dad, and the variation of it with myself as Alexandra Young. Thank you for this video
Some the the video is correct. The story of the drowning however has been proven to be a fabrication. Robert Young never married and sold Auldbar and lived with his sister and brother in law in Kintrocket, next door, until he died at the age of 58 in 1765. The first recorded of a Young is of Adam Young in the year 1195 as well. For the full story please see the book Youngs of Scotland.
