    Yes your right Mike, it does have a longer hose.

      Makes a huge difference, I have also bought the extension hose from Bunnings, that way I can leave the washer out of the way away from the washing area, does not seem to affect the power either. I mainly use it to wash cars /bikes/car parts etc but hoping to use it to clean up around the shed and house as well.

    You failed to show how to attach water inlet coupling???

    my ryobi washer has a folding handle for the reel so can lock the reel from spinning

    • @MikesManCave
      @MikesManCave  2 роки тому +1

      That would make sense. Crazy that nothing stops the wheel from spinning on this. I have found a solution for the reel, will do an updated video on it one of these days.

    Is there a detergent bottle at the back of the Gerni for the rotary brush and is that psi enough?

    • @MikesManCave
      @MikesManCave  2 роки тому +1

      No detergent bottle that I can see, enough for what?

      @@MikesManCave Thank you Mike, now to test it. I hope it's good as my son's ryobi 2200 psi and detergent bottle at the back. Can't get one looking for two months. Wish me luck

      @@basilbarbouttis9139 I was tossing up about getting the Ryobi one and this one. Decided on this one as it seemed like a better package, and had a longer hose.

    Great informative video. Tossing up between gerni 5000 or 5300.

    • @MikesManCave
      @MikesManCave  2 роки тому +1

      They did not have the 5300 when I bought this, I would get the 5300, better electrical cord storage and does not have the stupid wheel to wind up the hose that does not work anyway. They have the same pressure which works great, I have done lots of jobs with this already and it goes all day.

      @@MikesManCave agree mate.. plus the 8 meter braided no kink hose and brush less motor. Waiting for bunnings to put it on special to pull the trigger.

    Hi Mike. Agree hose roller is a pain and I stopped using it, unless I had to pack it away neatly. I am now looking for an upgrade and eyeing 5300 because slightly longer hose and steel braided to prevent kinks, which was happening way too often on standard hose. Also it doesn't have a roller which is to my liking.

    • @MikesManCave
      @MikesManCave  Рік тому +1

      Next upgrade would be the 7000 in my option. More power. Pretty sure they all have the 8 metre hose. I now use the reel to store the power cord. It’s too tight for the hose.

    You left out the most important bit: connecting the garden hose, putting the correct nozzle on the gerni for concrete, turning on the water at the tap without the hose popping off. I don't know what I am doing wrong. But I will take a look at your other videos.

    • @MikesManCave
      @MikesManCave  2 роки тому +1

      Use hoselink fittings, they never pop off and they don't leak, best upgrade I have ever done.

    Good to see up picked up a pressure washer Mike. Gee that reel is rubbish my cheapie doesn’t have that seems I’m not missing out lol.
    Check out hoselink hose reels if u after reels for normal hose’s in the future Mike can’t complain about mine had no issues after a couple of years so far.
    Looking forward to future videos! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

      You must read my mind, I have literally ordered a Hoselink hose reel on Sunday, should be here later this week. Video might be a little while off, got the 25 metre one with the high flow hose. I am sick of seeing hoses on the ground. Glad to hear you are happy with yours. My daughter put me onto them as she uses them at her work, they get used several times a day and have lasted for years apparently.
      the pressure washer reel is hopeless, I wanted the larger 5000 washer as I will be using it at work as well as home, so mainly wanted the larger unit, but thought the hose reel was a good addition till I tried using it. I think it actually damages the hose by coiling it too tight.

      @@MikesManCave Haha well there you go lol. Think mine is the exact same one.
      I like that they sell spare parts for things only thing I have had to buy spares for was the trigger gun as it was leaking after a couple of years and I would much rather fix something than going and buying a whole new one like most things in this throwaway world.
      Yeah reel has just been whacked on for looks and a selling point. Don't expect much from the included soap bottle attachment pretty crappy IMO.
      If you want really good soap you need to get a snowfoam cannon with gerni attachment. And for really good snowfoam the actual snowfoam soap but it's all extra expensives and not cheap.
      Cheers 👍

    This is the reason i searched youtube for a Gerni instruction video. The reel has really let me down and its the main reason i bought the stupid thing. Really pisses me off when you spend good money and get ripped off by a shit product

      Mate I felt the same way, The reel was one of my buying decisions as well. And it's pretty much useless, I think I will do an updated video on it one of these days. I still have a few accessories to review as well.

    Screw this. Just bought a new gerni this week and put it together. 5000 series. Same damn poop design as 15 years ago. I couldn't even figure out the reel and hose then. Just had two mates take a look aftwr laughing at me and yep, it's just useless trash. The 8000 series looks like it has a proper reel and windup mechanism. But not this poop. Whats the point. 😑

    • @MikesManCave

      They should have never bothered with the reel, I never use it as it does not work and if it did it winds the hose too tight anyway.
