- Rare footage of Alexisonfire playing at Halifax, possibly the only Adelleda performance recorded and online. A personal favourite, I think this is one of the best underappreciated songs they've ever written. Lyrics:
This is really only all we have:
(Bury all of me)
Daytime. Twilight. Pitch black. Night light.
(Before I have a chance)
Coldest eyes, and the softest touch.
(To open my eyes and see you laughing.)
Daytime. Twilight. Pitch black. Night light.
These typed letters.
(Is this all we have?)
Beneath me.
(Or is this all just twilight beyond the skyline)
Fuck with these buttons and knobs long enough
(Blinding me)
And maybe things will... turn out fine.
Hide behind your crystal screen
And blow kisses at me.
(Remember what we said wouldn't happen?)
Go.
Write your name on my chest in kerosene.
Spark a match, and you won't be cold again.
This is really only all we have:
Daytime. Twilight. Pitch black. Night light.
Coldest eyes.
You had the coldest eyes, and the softest touch.
Daytime. Twilight. Pitch black.
Light!
Gag and... destroy me.
Gag and... destroy me.
(Sorry I didn't hear you)
I have a
(I was busy dying in the corner)
Collection of thunder that I stole
(Those three words)
I stole. That I stole.
(Destroyed every inch of me yet you keep...)
From your windowsill.
(...Speaking)
Stole... right through your windowsill.
I like how it is sped up. Honestly some of the best lyrics composed this decade. Plus the melody is so heavy and expressive.
I couldn't agree with you more and it's 2020...
And NEVER again was that place rocked so hard... No negative spirits or ghosts exist here anymore and never will a chakra has been unintentionally installed there.
one of my favorite songs. ever.
It’s been twenty years and i still can’t get over it.
They still kill this song live in 2022 which is amazing
Listening after the 20 year anniversary, fucking insane.
I didn't discover these guys until about 5 years ago. I was late to the party but I have barely listened to anything else since
Discovered them just recently and I can't get enough. Nothing will ever compare
@@RoyalGuardEziode the self titled album came and took over my music taste in just 2 weeks
@@schizojit it's very good
somehow even better live
I would have killed to be at this venue. Seeing Alexisonfire play the S/T would have been so awesome. Polaroids, little girls, where no one knows,.44 caliber, Pulmonary archery
almost 2016, and I'm still busy dying in the corner.. LOVE THIS
cant believe it was 13 years ago
Julien Prégent I remember this show well. I sat outside with my ex girlfriend and ate rice from the sushi place across the street and drank vodka for like 3 or 4 hours. lol
man that sounds fukin awesome. why the fuck is all i remember back then is being sad all the time lol.
***** oh I was sad as fuck.. lmao
i'm surrounded by emos
Watching this makes me want to cry, haha, Will never have a more favourite band than you guys
i will always love this
same
I'd kill to see one of their early performances when it was all the self-titled album. thanks os much for posting this by the way!
Recorded 12 days before I was born. Crazy
I wish George's mic was louder. All in all, an amazing performance. Now if only someone had captured them playing Counterparts and Number Them live anywhere.
This gave me the fucking goosebumps..before they even started playing. My favorite AOF song. I haven't seen them play this live since I saw them with Poison the Well in 2004. My favorite song by them. So good. I wish they would play like this again.
A CLASSIC AOF track...so happy there going hard for the next couple years...Saw em 3 times...amazing
such an amazing song
@Philfa dude i totaly fucken feel your pain. i cry when they broke up, i listen to them alllllllll the time i never go on without listening to them. i never got to se them live, and its the worst cuz they are the 1 band i wanted to see live out of everything in the world.
one of their best, by far
This and Little Girls pointing and laughing fuck this makes me want to tear up
Fav
This is my favorite song by them. They had the screams set too quite thou.
this song is sick
the very best
is geroge's mic on low or something?
ahhh lOve this song
Never noticed that! Fucking awesome...
I would have to say it's my favourite AOF song
Epic. Thats the only thing i can say to this. Seeing them live in 16 days and knowing they will not be nearly this good is depressing.
@TheTimbalanders
6 years of following this band
6 years of buying their albums
6 years of buying tickets to their shows
and i've only seen them play Kennedy Curse....ONCE
but man was it the shit
just fucking outstanding. and you get to see dalas properly enjoying himself, when he is young and going crazy:) and george jumping about heheheheeeehe. dame i miss them so much. dame u dalas!!!!! you grew up to be too mature
I looked up the set list for their first few shows so far this tour and the setlist looks great. Mix of new and old stuff though. Im sure it will be a really good show though, Ive seen them 4 times and they never disappoint... Just wish i could have seen them before Watch Out
best aof song
haha jessie wearing a coheed and cambria shirt, sick.
@mitchellbeaupre to me, they broke up when Jesse left. They were just never the same or progressively any better ever since.
Don't jinx it. I'm going to see them on their final tour also, and although I wish they only played the first two albums, I'll welcome anything they play. Obviously I'll be more psyched for the classics though. Ya never know, since this is the last time they'll ever play together, they're gonna have to be putting their all into it!
/watch?v=aNLvRtT45Sw wow your post was 3 years ago, but if you're still interested there it is!
All though you can barely hear George....It still sounds great
The best band of screamo. 2019
George's mic is broken yo
@ShadowCrowX fukn ayy!!
is this steel??????
It's to bad they broke up :(
BOOOOOOO. If the songs are good, then that should be enough. These oldies are amazing.
I would shit myself if there were
I feel like City and Colour should never have been started when I watch these old vids.....
it was inevitable. Dallas loves music too much that he had to put himself in the spotlight. Not egging on how he's egotistical, but with a screamer to front your band, there's only so much vocal spotlight you can steal before you make music that focusses on your superior clean vocals.
No shit Sherlock.
