  • This short video shows how to use the Sigga heddle to weave a woollen belt with pattern threads arranged in groups. I designed this belt from the depiction in the mosaic of Alexander the Great.

Do you have the draft for the 4 shaft loom by chance?

The background is threaded in plain weave across the width of the belt. For a four shaft loom use shafts one and two. The three pattern threads on each side can be threaded onto shaft 3. The lifts will be 1and 3, 2 and 3 1 and 3, then 2, 1 , 2, This leaves the pattern threads on the surface for three picks and then underneath for three picks. The threading will start 1,2,1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3, then plain weave until you reach the other border. I hope this makes sense

Do you sell your belts anywhere?

Hi Dexter. No I don’t sell my belts. I do not have an outlet to sell them. I haven’t been asked this question before now.
      Best wishes Susan
