      @judian9667 4 роки тому +16

      That's not Karma. Shouldn't shame someone for not wanting children and prefer pursuing her dream. She didn't abandoned her on the streets she left the child with her father. Yeah it sucks that she was abandoned by her mother but better than being raised with a resentful mother...maybe (both options sucks and hurts)

    • @VOID-gz6jk
      @VOID-gz6jk 4 роки тому +16

      @@judian9667 she knew before she had Andy that she didn’t want children and she gave birth to Andy anyway and instead of doing the healthy thing which is separating and having a distancing relationship from her child where she saw her child less frequently she just chose to run away and act like you never had children in the first place. And then after she abandoned her child she wanted to waltz back into her life like nothing happened. And not wanting children I personally don’t want to give birth but at some point you need to at least take responsibility for what you did regardless of if it’s emotionally painful for you or not.

    I can understand that Pruitt didn't want Andy to feel abandoned by her mother, but at the same time, I feel like he should have told her the truth. You don't let your child grieve her mother for 21 years. Yes, it would have hurt her so much to know that her mother choose to leave, but I think it would've hurt a lot less than Andy finding out 21 years later that her life was a lie. Especially since the lie prevented her from being around the rest of her family and getting any real closure on her mother's absence. Topped of with the fact that she found out all this only after her father died and her husband is having surgery/battling addiction, it would have been much less painful to just come clean from the start.

    Andy's emotional confrontation with her mother, unveiling the painful truth about faking her death due to struggles with mental health and a desire to avoid motherhood, was a powerful and poignant moment on #Station19. The raw portrayal by Andy, coupled with the revelation of suppressed emotions, sheds light on mental health challenges and the importance of open conversations. It's scenes like these that make #Station19 more than a traditional drama, urging the need for the show's continuation to explore such impactful narratives. #SaveStation19

    It's kind of sad that Andy's only way to rationalize the situation was believing that the parent that actually cared enough to take of her was an abusive monster, but then again it's a lot to take in.

    Dang none of the comments mention the fact she brought up mental health. Just because she had a baby doesn’t mean she was ready to be a mom. Be thankful she had one parent to do the job. You can force somebody to be who they’re not. And yes use protection blah, blah things happen. It’s a messed up situation and could have been handled better on both sides. I mean damn daddy killed her off.

    • @bigrivtodagled8210
      @bigrivtodagled8210 4 роки тому +11

      It sounds to me like it is. And still nowadays in latino families, mental health is not taken seriously, people say go take a walk, pray, count your blessings. I find the comments very harsh as post-partum depression is very serious and people lack empathy and understanding. If it’s taboo, chances are she was depressed for years before she seeked help.

    • @thesaver4481
      @thesaver4481 4 роки тому +3

      @@bigrivtodagled8210 Yeah, she even mentioned that mental health wasn't taken seriously back then, especially for mothers. I mean, I don't agree with this women's decisions because she still ultimately abandoned her daughter and let her believe she was dead for 21 years. (For the record, I also blame the father for this situation, but her mother had to have known he lied to their daughter but she made no attempt to make it right.) I don't blame her for needing to leave, but she was wrong to let her own child believe she was dead and never even attempt to reach out. Her sister made more of an effort to still be there for the daughter, even if she couldn't psychically be with her. I don't know, I do feel bad for the mother and her struggles, and I can how she felt the separation was the only choice. At the same time, I can also see how Andy would feel betrayed and abandoned, especially since the mother wasn't even really sorry for the pain she caused, at least from what we can see here. I sympathize with both their situations, but I feel more inclined to see Andy's point of view and agree she has every right to never want to see her mother again.

    This was a fucked up family secret. I understand in a sense if the child or the parent was in danger which is why we have witness protection programs and closed adoptions, but do you know how many moms had to put their lives on hold because they had kids and their lives weren't about them anymore? How could she bare to live wit that as a mom? It's easier for dads to disconnect because they didn't carry the child, but I felt so bad for Andy. Her dad and best friend are dead and it's like her mom might as well stay "dead" since she acts like Andy means nothing to her smh

    I wanted to become a career person but never turn that way because I choice fallow God path and off course I tried to found a job but its take time God path plan.
    When I got married then 6 month later we are pregnant then our baby born, my life changed alot then others judgement me , how iam raised my daughter, clothes are tided, way I doing my job in marriage and as a mother and I wanted to work, my daughter could be a school from baby age through preschool. But family in law keep taking decisions for me that my daughter is still small to leave her with strangers but wait to preschool etc. All that I get so depressed nobody knows it.. Since I got married and still married now with 2 kids, I put my dreams to a sight and do God plan ..
    Depression is hard other illnesses is dangerous but I had dreams or thinking what happened IF I LEFT MY FAMILY, COMPLISHED MY DREAMS AND I FREE.
    THAT WAY HELP YOURSELF FROM DEPRESSION AND OTHER ILLNESSES, GET HELP WITH A DOCTOR AND TALK TO SOMEONE..
    I WILL NEVER DO WHAT ANDY MOM DID, SHE LEFT.
    WHEN SOMEONE GET MARRY THEN KIDS ARE COMING OR HAVING SEX WITHOUT PERTECTION , IS UR DECISIONS..
