This was from the tvshow "I am a singer" from China in 2017. The ones they wounder about in the back ar not his parents or geusts its outher contestents. They dident knew Dimash at al when he whent on this show and got mega selebertie from episode 4.

It's so fun for us "Dears" (that’s what Dimash calls his fans because he loves us as a dear family) to see how people react to him.
Some info about Dimash. He is born in May 24 1994. He is from Kazakhstan and has been music schooled sense 5 years old and told the teacher that the piano was out of tune! He sings about 7 octaves or so! No one knows he is still learning. He sings higher than the piano can go! He also writs and compose own songs, plays bunch of instruments including Dombra there own Kazakh instrument that has a sound you can’t believe and onley 2 strings! He also sings in about 13 languages and speaks 3 so far (Kazakh,Russian and english).
Dimash has an excellent education: he graduated from the College of Music with a degree in Opera Singing, university of arts in the specialty "Estrada and jazz vocals", and on June 18, 2020, he completed a master's degree in Composition. He graduated with a degree in opera from the music school at the University of Aktobe (2014), a degree in pop/jazz from the National Arts University in Nur Sultan (2018), just completed his Master's degree in composition (June 2020) and have started his PhD.
He have done some contests in his life but the one I think got the worlds intension is "The Singer" (Allso called "I am a singer" or "Singer") from China in 2017. The Singer is a program for established Chinese singers to face off against each other invites only in a competition where votes were cast by an audience of 500.
Dimash Qudaibergen was a last-minute inclusion (a 'dark horse'). But his performance of 'SOS D'un Terrien En Detresse' electrified the audience, his fellow competitors and the viewers who numbered in the billions (this program was one of the most-watched in China and outside).
They also got him the nickname "Imported little brother" the day after the show. They also had to get bodyguard for Dimash do to the famous over night both in China and also the world. Dimash wasn’t really prepared for that. He had come to China at 22 years young man by him self and didn’t know the language. They hade contracted him for 2 shows because they didn’t think he cold go further than that. He didn’t think they would like him. So he was nervous this performers that he had also to start the show with. But they hade to change that do to his famous over night.
Dimash got many new friends from this show and he said at some point he learned a lot from it to.

The best moment in this show was just after Dimash started thanking everyone and saw his father there. He didn’t know he was there. Just after they got out of that room Dimash turns to his father and asks if he did good! When Dimash was gonna go in to the other contestants he again turned to his father and asked him if he done good! That’s the kind of man he is humble, loving and respectful.

Gloria Wu's channel has the back-story about the song that is so sad and from a life story about a boy losing his parents in an awful way. Also you get to hear how Dimash sounds like then loosing his voice the day of the show!!! When he went on he didn’t know if he could sing. Looking close at the other contestants they where so worried about him. He lost his voice again after. Li Jian another contestant bought him a very very expensive Chinese medication for him so he could get better soon!

Episode 10 : 'Unforgettable Day' In Kazakh and I think some translation in Chinese to. If I remember correct he wrote the music to this one when he was 19 years old and lyrics by Oral-kosai Baisengir, who was a poet/lyricist father of a friend of Dimash. Also in this show another contestant "Terry Lin" that was about 51 years young here he considered Dimash a dear friend at this point. But Dimash started telling them al he was his father around episode 9 I think!! That is a big respect and love from his part of the world to call him! Terry was gladly accepting it. They are still that close and also invites each other to there concerts and sometimes singing this song in duet to. They sang it in Jackie Chang movie festival in 2019 and Jackie was choked in how good they were. Terry was known as an alien before Dimash and they have similar vocals to.

He didn’t win the competion they say its because he wasn’t Chinese. But I don’t know if that’s right or not! They change the rules next year. But he got the most out of it and was most known after this. Got lots of awards and other things to. So he won the audience and the Chinese people.

The sybyzgy is a Kazakh sideblown flute traditionally played by shepherds and horse herders, made from apricot wood or the wood of mountain bushes. Length 600-650 mm. вообще-то нужно смотреть и клип в исполнении Грегори Лемаршаля-это с него взята версия Димаша(а не с оригинального из французской оперы-последняя фраза говорит-"спи моя малышка"-это главный герой обращается к своей умершей подруге-и логически никак не соответствует версии Димаша,но служит красивой оконцовкой песни) и титры на русском языке.А потом ещё посмотреть пару-тройку реакций на русском языке от преподавателей/учителей по вокалу-именно на SOS трёх-четырёхлетней давности-они буквально по кадрам рассказывают все нюансы вокала Димаша,а не то что эти-прослушали как обычные слушатели и ничего кроме необычности исполнения и широкого диапазона не заметили...

Please tell them as well that Dimash was only 17 at that time.. and that he is Muslim. His parents are also singers and he started his training at age 5 or so. I have watched this song over 400 times, many times listening to people’s reactions. Such a delight. My favorite English one is Adagio. He is now working on his Ph.D. In Music.

What I found interesting is, here they are showing this guy to these Tribal people, when I’ve never heard of them, myself! This should be going out around the world (or met be I’m just slow).

Here are some EXQUISITE performances (but really I’m not even kidding you won’t find another artist with more masterpieces that touch you right down to your soul). Ave Maria (is not the 1 you know, has no words, & sounds like what angels sound like). Adai + Daididau from his Bastau concert- this was his 1st big solo concert. His government actually paid for it on the heels of his success on this competition show. He is truly the most humble highest character artist I’ve ever encountered. He’s always dreamed of sharing his kazakh culture & music with the world. So this Adai+Daididau performance at Bastau was his 1st big chance. He brings over 100 kazakh musicians into the piece. He looks like a kazakh prince. He plays the dombra. The song is beautiful & epic, & his interaction with the audience is so dear, he is overcome with emotion by the end. You will fall in love with this special human. You’ll also want to see Daybreak from same concert. This guy is just amazing. I’ve never been a fan to the point I spend time promoting someone to strangers online before. He truly is a gift to this world, especially at this tumultuous time. I hope you get to experience these & many more !! 💛😇

While Dimash has many fans around the world and has sold out shows in many countries (including a show in New York City), he still hasn't quite had a "mainstream" song introduce him to more people off the internet. Outside of China, many (or maybe most) of Dimash's fans discovered him through reactions like these, so if you don't watch a ton of music reaction videos, it's not really that much of a surprise that you haven't heard of him before. However, I definitely recommend watching every song of his you can find, both on and off his UA-cam channel!
I discovered Dimash a couple years ago here on YT singing this song... and even though I've watched a ton of his videos SOS is still hands down my favorite. It's just a beautiful song and the way he performs it is amazing.
Glad to see the reactions going to different styles of music. As for the questions on who were those sitting there, they were the other contestants on the Chinese Talent show. I saw a few of the videos of the show, after I saw the first reaction to Dimash, and the contestants who are all amazing themselves were in complete awe of Dimash's singing. I believe this is the first time any of the them had seen him sing. I believe he was 21 or 22 in this video, his talent and voice is even more amazing now, especially once he teamed up with Russian composer Igor Krutoy

Those people were the show host and other competitors. Dimash was just 23 years old and the youngest competitor and was singing in French phonetically. I still think this was his finest rendition of this song, including when I heard and saw him live in New York.

Thank you for introducing them to Dimash. His Love is Like a Dream video is one of my favorites. Everyone seemed to enjoy his voice, his abilities and his audiences. I notice the tribal people are more reserved in how they react emotionally than many other cultures. Their comments are quite interesting, sometimes surprising and even a bit comedic.

Kazakhs I believe are related to Turks and the people in that area . Many customs are shared with Mongolians too .
I believe you categorize them as Eurasian.. yes I think they’re considered a Turkic people, their language a Turkic language (I’m still learning!) with other influences as they are sandwiched between Russia & China & definitely they are people of the Great Steppe, as I believe the Mongols were too
Yes, Kazakhs are Kipchak Turks like Kyrgyz, Bashkirs, Tatars, etc. Turks in Turkey are Oghuz Turks like Turkmens in Turkmenistan and Salars in China. Although Turkey is too far from Kazakhstan, Turkish language has many 'loan' words from Mongolian like Kazakh lang and also Turkish language & culture is based on Kazakh. We have two Turkish languages in Turkey. In our daily life, we prefer Informal lang (Anatolian) to formal lang (İstanbul). If you visit villages in Anatolia, you can bear witness to common Kazakh-Turkish culture. For example, my Brother's name comes from a Kazakh word (one of Dimash's song names), my cousin's name is from a Mongolian ruler .

I have watched several of your videos and I am so happy to see you finally get around to Dimash. I wonder what they would think of his more traditional Kazakh folk songs and dombra playing.

Impossble singer with such voice range, technique, control, and most soothing melodious voice with male base voice combo. Dimash is combo of 2 to 3 voices at same time.

@@TRYBALS he has so many masterpieces I personally wouldn’t put this as high (even though it’s also amazing). However if/when you do Opera 2, as this commenter states, you can find the extended version on Gloria wu’s channel- that show his interactions with his father that is so endearing. I actually think they would REALLY love the message & video of his newest release- Omir Oter, meaning “Life is Short”. It’s less about his huge vocals or crazy showmanship & more about messages that I think would mean a lot to them. Lastly they would also love Adai + Daididau from his Bastau concert- Dimash is very patriotic & it’s his dream to introduce kazakh music & culture to the world. He dreamed of performing this song on a world stage, & this concert was his 1st big full concert. He brings over 100 kazakh musicians in this performance, he looks like a kazakh prince, he plays the dombra, the song is beautiful & epic, & you get to see so much love between him & the audience he is overcome with emotions by the end. 💛💛💛 They will really love it & all these suggestions show different styles & sides to him.
This is possibly the most grounding channel i can even imagine. Everytime I am feeling down I come to this channel and I am thru roughly reminded that I do have it good and things are not as bad as they seem.
