I’m Portuguese and I lived for about 5 years in Japan ! Japanese are usually shy to speak foreign languages and of making mistakes or talking in public . This boy Ryota showed great courage to learn a few words of Portuguese and read them out on Japanese national TV . People laughing in the audience were not trying to be mean , it’s just that it sounds “funny “ for them to hear a native Japanese speak in a different language ! It’s like if your best friend suddenly started talking to you as if he was from another planet ! In Japan there are many Brazilians working , many of them are also descendants of Japanese who lived in Brazil and have returned to Japan ! Ryota probably had his questions translated and written down in Portuguese from a Brazilian living in Japan ! He spoke Portuguese with a slight Brazilian Portuguese accent , which is comparable to the difference between a British English accent and an American or Canadian English accent . Anyways I’m proud of Ronaldo for showing kindness and understanding ! He knows how the boy must be feeling in front of him and with all his dreams of becoming a soccer player and as he said , of playing alongside his star someday ! Japan is a great country , people are polite , respectful and honest ! Ronaldo would be very well received if he ever decided to retire and play in Japan ‘ J- League a couple of years ! Or even just as a guest again on those funny Japanese late night shows ! I hope Ryota’s dreams come true ! Gambatte ne , Ryota-Kun!
Because that's what makes me really respect Ronaldo even the whole world..humble attitude, kindness, respect and others that reflect himself as an extraordinary person.Ronaldo did not feel what the boy said as a joke to be laughed at.Not happy to speak a foreign language. He had to speak to the person directly who was interviewing him.
That they don't talk about messi
"In Japan, yes, it's sushi" XD hahaha. I agree with you Ronaldo... Sushi in my own country or in any other country is not as good as compared to Japan. It's far from it. This guy knows what he's talking about

Greatest of all time 🇵🇹
I’m Portuguese and I lived for about 5 years in Japan !
Portuguese is not easy to read. Whatever Ronaldo you are a great person ...
