I gained real insight from this video and the suggested website for Sun tools. And whoever said turn the background music down was wrong. I say bump that bass, and let's go plant some trees and build some passive homes! Look out Belgium...
Your video was really helpful!! I can’t wait to watch more of your content!! Thank you so much for helping me understand the sun path because it sure is confusing, but you sure made it simple and fun!
Dear Imran Now that you've shown us how to find the angles of the sun, please show us how they impact a design and how we can take advantage of that. You are a life saver.
You might find it fascinating to know that this exact process was used for desert navigation during WWII using just the sun. If you look up a Cole or Abrams sun compass you will see the hyperbola lines printed on them. If you have accurate timekeeping you can navigate very easily without any power or technology. Knowing the sun's path was absolutely crucial to making it work. The Long Range Desert Group guys navigated thousands of miles across the Sahara using only sun compasses (usually a Bagnold type but the Cole/Abrams compasses work very well too!). Cheers!
I came to understand my homework, I stayed because I was amazed at how easy it looks to use photoshop 😂 it would have taken me longer to do that circle in medibang
Question: how do you apply the information from the sun path to the architecture? say, where do i put more roof eaves, or vertical slatted shading or horizontal shading, etc. and how does the sun path diagram influence the sizes of these features if say i would appply them? Thanks for this video it is really helpful and concise!
I wouldnt know as i only use photoshop but ive found a page that suggests some alternatives: www.lifewire.com/best-free-adobe-photoshop-alternatives-4140697
Hi Imran. Thanks for the great video. However, I'm still confused with my question. How do you answer this: Based on your presented diagram - for which month the direct sunlight in the mornings and evenings will be the most?
So summer equinox is june 21st (in the uk) and this will be the day with the most sun in the year and this will be the highest point on the graph, then the days before and after this day will slowly decrease/increase towards it. so wherever in the world you wan to know, google the summer equinox in that place and it will be the the longest sunlight and the month before and after will also be long.
So using the graph you can asses the areas on your site that receive sun (based on surrounding buildings) and the angle that will get the most sun (normally lunch) so you will have your Solars facing that direction to maximise sun on them
Its the outline circle. First, find the right date and time draw a dot, then draw a line from the centre through it to the outside circle. where it crosses is the altitude angle (units are written on the circle)
@@irmadesirahmawati487 You know what having looked at this again you're completely correct! My apologies, Its a good thing to note I guess, to remember the axis.
Great video, very informative and helpful. Thanks a lot!! 😁😁 But a humble suggestion or a request to you... if possible please avoid the BGM while the explanation is going on. Just a suggestion. 😊😊 Otherwise everything is really great! 😊
Please Note: Altitude Angle is 32 not 28!!
I'm confused on how it would be 32? I understand it being 28
@@_soiled its hard to see but the line that corresponds to 30 is just below the pink line, if you look at 10 you will see its below the number
Came here after not understanding at sun track diagrams in environmental science course, much clearer on them now, thanks so much!
Love comments like this1 I'm glad it helped ( :

@@Imranesm with the angle we find from the diagram, is it an elevation angle

Do you have a video about how to use autocad to create contour models and how you can link your files to a laser cutter or 3d printer?

great info, but could you please explain more on how such information could be employed in our designs?
