Well done. Jerry and team! 🇬🇧 Hope the Alaskan cold (maybe dry and cold) is better than LHR in the low, grey, cloudy wet weather. Here's to plenty more adventures and connections for you!
It’s much more doable. I live in ANC and have travelled all over the world. Very dry in the winter here, 25-30F today. Probably equivalent to 7-10C today at LHR compensating for humidity.
Well done, Jerry and team! 🇬🇧 Hopefully, the cold and possibly dry Alaskan weather is a nice break from the low, grey, cloudy wet days at LHR. Here’s to many more adventures and meaningful connections ahead!
This is one of the busiest freight hubs in the world. You sometimes get a KC-135 dropping in as well as USAF C-130s C-17s and F-22s flying by. My favourites are the Everts DC-6s of which they have seven. .....Earlier this week, four C-17 flew into Anchorage.
Wow, "Big Jet action from Ted Stevens International Anchorage" sounds like an exciting title! Anchorage's unique location makes it a fascinating hub for aviation enthusiasts. The mix of large cargo planes and passenger jets against the stunning backdrop of Alaska must be a spectacular sight. It's always thrilling to see these engineering marvels in action, and the diverse range of aircraft at an international airport adds to the excitement. Can you imagine the powerful roar of jet engines and the sleek design of these planes as they take off and land? Just thinking about it gives an adrenaline rush! 🛫✈🌍
Wow this is the best coverage ever of 747's and part 2 this afternoon filmed from the point of take-off rotation is even better. Jerry you have knocked the ball out the park with this visit to ANC. Can't wait for you to return in the summer with those looooong days for extra shooting !!
Love Your channel used to travel 1991-1993 from Minnesota to the Northeast my favorite plane then which was fairly new was the 757 awesome speed and lift off angle the current jets must be incredible!
Greetings lovely people, I'm watching on catch up and really enjoying the show. Jerry, you look like you don't know what to look at next, so much good stuff to look at.👏👏👏😎
Fred and Alison from the UK we are watching you fantastic we are watching sometimes at Israel but this is absolutely superb. Really thinking about joining you coming a member love the show.
Excellent coverage. One of my fav airports. Freighters are the best. This is so much more interesting than Heathrow. Have you considered for these types of streams having the ATC live??? Cheers from Scotland.
GReat vid, I watched it in segments & enjoyed it all. Pity so many of the commuter liners were ignored by the camera or referred to as ' feeders' rather than by type. There's more to life than 747's JD.
I wonder who does all the 747 maintenance? Maybe UPS because they have a base in ANC or PANC. With all those flights somebody is going to have a few maintenance items for the log book.
Fun fact: the abandoned terminal to the right of Jerry's location opened in 1982 and served as the airport's international terminal. It was used by many passenger airliners making stopovers in Anchorage, including KLM, Air France, Japan Airlines, and British Airways, among others. With the end of the Cold War and advances in long-range aircraft technology, the terminal fell silent in the early '90s and has remained largely in disuse. Nowadays, only during summers will the terminal see a little bit of life, as seasonal flights by Condor and Eurowings will dock at the terminal and make use of the building's customs area. However, Northern Pacific Airways -- a new airline that plans to launch in 2023 -- plans to replicate the Icelandair model and introduce low-cost flights between the US and Asia by having Anchorage serve as a stopover location. With Anchorage set to be Northern Pacific Airways' home base, the airline will be making extensive use of the largely abandoned terminal.
1:44:42 That FlightService A330 charter arrived from Hanoi, Vietnam. After fueling up it's off to Chicago. Maltese (9H) registration. Don't think Jerry noticed it.

Totally serious question: why on earth is there so much cargo going to Alaska ? & does anything leave on all of these cargo planes or do they return empty ?
ANC is a refuel stop for freighters. They load less fuel and more cargo at origin of flight. Just enough fuel to cross the Pacific. I hope I explained it properly to make sense 😀
Sometimes they make extra stops with multiple loads & sometimes they stop somewhere else to pick up another load to make it cost effective. It's management planning.
Lately aircraft are going to need green fuel, more environmentally friendly. They have already implemented some planes with the new fuel. I don't know if all engines can use it or if the engines will have to be changed to accommodate the fuel type. ?
747-400 / -8F start sequence: 1&4 at the same time, then 2&3. Pneumatic starting system. The GENX on the 747 uses Pneumatics. The 787's GENX uses electric start.

That’s amazing
Great video but I need to point out between 5:29 and 5:30; that's China Airlines Cargo as shown on the fuselage (not Air China)

ANC is a refuel stop for freighters. They load less fuel and more cargo at origin of flight. Just enough fuel to cross the Pacific. I hope I explained it properly to make sense 😀
Adding to that, cargo jets have less range than passenger and subsequently don’t have the range to complete longer routes and need a stop
Sometimes they make extra stops with multiple loads & sometimes they stop somewhere else to pick up another load to make it cost effective. It's management planning.
Congrats on 300k!
Epic location

I was there ! (in the comments)🤣
They carry enough fuel for destination. Then they add more for next leg so as not to land overweight.
