- At a training camp in Livigno we had the opportunity to watch the mechanics Alessandro Stocco and Andrea Vezzoli of the Astana Pro Team maintaining and rebuilding the bike of Jakob Fuglsang.
The Wilier 0 SLR is a very elegant and ultra light frame with complete cable integration. Besides a very reduced look, this also brings aerodynamic advantages. For all racing cyclists who want to create their own individual dream bike, Wilier offers a custom paint program which allows almost infinite design possibilities.
In 2020 Jakob Fuglsang already won the Tour of Lombardy on Wilier, in the video you can see in detail what kind of material he rides in the races.

In 2020 konnte Jakob Fuglsang bereits einen Sieg bei der Lombardei Rundfahrt auf Wilier erzielen, im Video seht ihr im Detail was für Material er in den Rennen fährt.
Astana always have the prettiest bike in the pro peloton. Superbe !
She's a beauty 😘..."nuff respect" to all those professional bicycle mechanics out there 🤜🏿🤛🏼
The wheelset is so sick,!
love these bikes and the paint, such a mix of componentry: campy, look, shimano
Where do you see any Campagnolo on this bike? Campy and Shimano are totally incompatible to each other.
Wow in love with that bike. Those wheels. 😍
They look like from a sports car right?
Thank you for uploading this at tea time (GMT+8) so that my coffee tastes even better
Yey,been waiting for a new upload but now here you go again and impress me with another build bike
I love seeing mechanics helping to build because its boring if only 1 mechanic is working
Best looking bike in the peloton
Easily the best looking bike in the peloton.
One of the better-looking for sure.
That Corima wheels are insane in this bike. wow .
Saludos al equipo de mecanicos del Astana desde Colombia!
love this bike, the color, the shape, My next bike will be a Wilier
Definitely one of the most beautiful bike of the peloton with Astana colors and wilier Italian design... thanks rb.
I’d really like to see the same video on the wilier turbine...
These videos are so satisfying.
The assembly speed is quite fast and cool.
Those disc wheels are sick !! Love them .
stunning wheelset!
Underrated channel
I am your number one fan from philippines
All that work and effort 4:39 and they still leave the tiny little Chimney hehe
From what I have heard some mechanics like to leave a little chimney because they think that clamping the stem too close to the cut of the steerer tube is a little bit insecure (less rigidity or something). So they leave a little chimney for safety reasons.
You consider such a tiny, little spacer a "chimney"? You always, always (!) put a 5-mm spacer atop the stem for safety.
That wheelset with a carbon spokes 😍😍😍
... with * carbon spokes. A single spoke can't support a wheel.
Espectacular maquina y con esas Ruedas para más👏👏👏👏👏🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴💕
Nice bike, and 7.15 kg with all the components is impressive!!
Wow, thirty minutes feeding cables through the integrated bar/stem in a seventeen minute video...
Integrated câbles. ....nightmare
May save the rider half a Watt, but takes the mechanics a shitload of Watts and all their ability to deal with frustration. All-internal hose/cable routing is most likely the most stupid trend in cycling technology in the last 30 years, eve more stupid than integrated seatposts and behind-the-bottom bracket rear brakes.
Great advert for external routing
Truer words have never been written! Great minds think alike!
Stupenda!
Are now two mechanics needed for these all-new super integrated bikes? Perfect 🤦🏻♂️
Needed? - no.
Is it easier? Yeah 😉
road bike channel and also more complicated... I stick to the good old rims with no integration. but sooner or later.... 🤷🏻♂️
You can't deny it doesn't look good 😀 but it's definitely not a job you wanna do every other week on your bike 🙈
Wait until you see a BMC Road fork/stem install including cabled. Five man job.
@@roadbikechannel Two mechanics make things faster and easier on every bike. Fact is, total integration is a mess even for skilled mechanics. It's totally silly for normal consumers who need to be able to do some maintenance on their own.
Wow..i like this type of bicycle..may I know what type of pulley and how many teeth of pulley are you used...thanks.
Those are CeramicSpeed pulleys.
[In Borat voice] 👍🏻Very Nice👍🏻
The Ferrari of the bikes. Dreaming about a Wilier. Santa I hope you read this comment.
Spettacolo ❤
The set of Corima wheels described on the specs is not correct, the wheels shown are the new MCC DX, beautiful wheels and a bit more expensive too!!!
Another awesome build!! 😍😍
Saludos a Astana desde Chile 🥺🥺🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱👌🇨🇱
I bet there was a lot of off camera swearing putting that stem/bar combo together 🤣 Beautiful bike though!!
... and probably even more because of the silly amount of internal cable routing.
I love Jakob but I might have to find him on a climb push him of and steal his bike. This is a stunner
Just BEAUTIFULLLLLLLLL......👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
How you install the battery in the seatpost.. is any special mounting for it?
Beautiful bike wow npalaganda,,, give me one bike,,,
Looks more like a proper service course than Jumbo Visma's fantasy warehouse...
Go Jakob go!
what type of Corima wheels are they? Another beautiful bike
col403 the Corima MCC Dx
How much for the use wilier from the philippines 😍 🔥🔥🔥
7.15? why not 6.8? if it had rim brakes I bet it'd make it.
Jesus, that's beautiful.
Someone please tell me where I can get integrated stem and bars with the shallow drop w short reach.
that internal cable routing is a mess; all that work so the rider can hit a road sign at the TdF? :))
Love that bike!! Where can i buy that Wilier apron?
Ask Wilier, they'll tell you.
@@einundsiebenziger5488 no they won’t...😔
How are we meant to see the final weight of the bike?
Handlebar tapes are that heavy?? 😱
good job
Great sharing
Those wheels 😍
Very Good
If you want a bike like this !!?? No problem 😉 2 mechanics 🧰 and a high room !! Ready !! 😂
The "high room" problem is mostly due to the lights we bring to the different locations. You can see them at 11:09 🤫
And they work together simply because its easier and faster, why should they make the job any harder by doing it alone when there is a college standing right there 😃
But yeah, we get your point...😅 it's not getting easier with integration🙈
road bike channel I’m only joking 🙃 for every problem is a solution !! And yes for privat people like me is hard to work on a bike like this! If there was a second bike for all how like to pimp the bikes like me ! That Ware a great thing !
I love it😍😍
No spintest? I wonder why...
What's the name of the track used 🧐
Nice production! Love the video! However, I would not get a bike with a headset like this even though I have the money to. Takes 2 person to install/ route the cables. Imagine if you have to service your headset bearings or to adjust your stack heights…The bike looks really cool, but no thanks. I’ll stick with my rim break bike for everyday use and weekend crit races for now.
Che bellllla........
I believe he as two Monuments. What about Liege Bastogne Liege 2019 :) ?
oof, those willier colorways are special!
Italian pride 💪
The only thing Italian about this is the location of Wilier's head quarters. The frame and finishing kit are made in Taiwan, the groupset in Japan and the wheels in France.
@@einundsiebenziger5488 Mh, ok... more or less, like all the frame in the world? Nothing new. The brand, however, is based in Italy, as well as the concept and the design behind this project which is not such a small thing.
Cuantos €? Cuesta esa bici
😍👍😍👍😍👍😍👍😍👍😍👍😍
wilier had a close look at the BMC teammachine, eh?
BMC was the first to use dropped seat stays on their frames. A few years later some followed, and now everybody does it. Serves no purpose other than looking stupid.
Major parts of the build were not shown....
Because routing all those cables and hoses takes up most of the time.
I hope they will end this " internal cable" on handle bar .
There would be other unnecessary new gimmicks in a couple yrs to motivate customers for new bikes
I think it looks damn clean! Shit for the mechanics but I don't care...
@@Dramboli it does look super clean and neat, just a nightmare to adjust stem spacer or change stem/cables
@@Dramboli You know that if you're not a pro, you have to pay your own mechanics, don't you? For every hour they have to mess with your brake hoses and shift wires they have to charge you extra 60 to 100 quid/bucks.
@@einundsiebenziger5488 yes sure it may cost you extra, but normally you won‘t make a lot of adjustments on the cockpit if you know your measurements or get a good bike fit. Anyway it will be going to full integration, even starts on gravel bikes now. Some people like it and some don’t, same for the rim/disc brake debatte or tubular/tubeless/clincher.
Wow terbaik
isn't the front skewer on the wrong side???
No, if you look closly at the frame and fork you can see the opening for the axle at the non drive side of the frame 0:10 and on the dive side of the fork 0:32 . It's a quick release system witch allows a easier and faster wheel chance with the axles remaining in the hubs.
@@roadbikechannel cool! didnt notice at all, thanks for the info! :)
what size is this bike
Large (56)
@@mgrization whats the height of the rider
@@tobyt684 Fulgsang is 181cm. Going for a large my self. im 185cm
I hope you help for having bike sir.
El meccanico se ciama Stocco come mi.... ghe ze l’etichetta sol portabici!! I ze a Rossano
Starnut in carbon fork?
There is an expander in the fork with a clamping mechanism to tighten the haeadset: 2:26
that's my bike....
Que belleza italiana wuilier

Build me a dream
With a brake
That squeezes the rim.
You just have to be patient, there are still a few out there 😀
Colnago v3rs? But even a weekend rider like me enjoyed the willier on a test ride. Lovely bike, resonsive but not too jittery for Italian roads
All that work just to hide a few cables, marketing gone mad!
Fastest milkman 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
well worth it. Cables in 2020 are ugly as hell.
5:45 don't tell me they just thightened this to torque setting without thightening evenly to spread the load...
Yeah & double & even tripple clicking the torque, i thought that was frowned upon?
@@Jeppelelle I frankly don't think that makes too much, if any difference....
after seeing how they apply the grease....... I am happy that they don't paint houses for living......
No gloves, no ceramic bb, no direct RD mounting, 2 guys needed to get the cable integration right, wheels not balanced, electrical tape not cut so it will come loose, bartape from out to in (other way around is preferred) and 310 grams of excess weight. Beautiful bike but many small improvements can be made to make it better.
Hi, what is bb and RD? Where are the 310g coming from? How can I spot here that the wheel is not balanced? Thx!
@@echnaton123 Hi, bb = bottom bracket. From the number of free rotations, it seems like they use standard bottom bracket bearings. While those are pretty good, I feel going ceramic (or at least as friction-free as possible - mind you: most friction is in the seals, not dependent on the material of the bearings or ball races) would definitely be an upgrade if only for the 'feel' when pedalling. The gain would be around 5-10 watts going ceramic (or seal-free would also do that, but ofcourse takes lots of maintenance).
About the RD (rear derailleur): current Dura-ace has the option to mount it by the direct hanger, but they don't do that here for some reason (maybe Wilier doesn't have one). Main advantage is improved stiffness (you have one pivot point less: the direct mount RD is specifically designed to be in a better position (for wheel changes and to keep the chain better on the cogs) and to be stiffer, but if you don't take advantage of this by still using the B-link, it's a pity.
The wheel is not balanced as you can see around 8:09 . (the bike is jumping up and down). In practice you won't notice this too much unless going at very high speeds. As far as I can see, the tires / tubulars don't show a bulb, which is actually far worse than some inbalance, and occurs more than you would wish on pro bikes.
Lastly, the 310 gram (actually 315, but it's better to keep some margin!) is what could be shaved of to reach the UCI minimum weight of 6.8kg. This bike is now 7.15, so it has the potential to be around 300-310 gram lighter, which is a free weight saving for the rider, if only they would manage to design the bike to be as performant but a bit lighter. They use a hell of a lot mounting paste, by the way.
L. D.T. Wow, thank you very much for taking the time to write this long answer. I really learnt something!
@@l.d.t.6327 You're missing the point of this build.......its a pro bike 🤷♂️ don't they change the bar tape after every stage??? and as for not having a ceramic bb 😅 I wouldn't waste my money on such a snake oil product!!! Steel bearings are best for bikes even pro ones 👍
@@nickjohnson710 honestly, I don't know how often they replace bartape these days. Especially if it's black I think they keep it on longer and wash the bikes, and that's it. A good steel BB should perform very well. The problem is these days that seals, bad tolerances and bad installation destroy BB in no-time. Every little bit in this area helps, until we go back to one-piece cartridge systems or cup-cone. Side loads are simply not managed very well with modern-day BB.
Should be Campy on an Italian beauty
Astana is sponsored by Shimano. And Wilier's frames are made in a place much closer to Japan than Italy.
Duude you lost me when you wrapped aero cockpit with bar tape till the end 😭
That's how you wrap a handlebar, because you grab it on the flat section, too.
@@einundsiebenziger5488 aero bars lose aero advantage when you wrap them with bartapes on top. Check wind tunnel tests to verify this, you will find sufficient enough info. Either use regular bar and wrap all the way up, or if you use aero bar, wrap up until tops
Il nastro va montato in senso orario a destra e antiorario a sinistra. Qui tutto il contrario. E il nastro isolante va tagliato con le forbici e non strappato tirandolo. Bilanciate la ruota posteriore!! 🤦🏻♂️
fuck internal cables.. is it a headache
There's no way Fuglsang rides with the hoods in that position.
A bit too high for a pro, no?
Ridiculous weight obsession
Such a messy build
Wilier un maquinon
Do you need a beard to assemble this bike?
And speak Italian! 😉
worst integration ever.
Do you mean "integration is the worst (idea in cycling) ever"? Then, I'd agree.
I’ll make sure these 2 idiots never build my bike
at 4:47 he can easily chip the paint job with that bump. It happened to my Tarmac, the stupid mechanic is careless.
