- A ruddy good collection of old, rare and brand new clips of Norfolks best broadcaster.
It's mostly stuff without a laughter track, and some live bits too, also including clips from his latest outing - Welcome To The Places Of My Life. If, like myself, you're a F.O.P (fan of partridge) then you'll love this shit to bits. Overall, 7 on 10. Let's make love.

im such a fan of Alan Partridge that i named my first born after him, she's not very happy about it though
Partridge is the name of the musical TV family from the 70s. Nobody knows what happened to the original drummer, Jeremy Gelbwaks. He was very ugly.

It speaks to the comedic genius and sensibility of Steve, Armando, Chris Morris, Peter Baynham, the Gibbons brothers and Lord knows who else (let's stick Rich and Stew in just because) that Alan as a character has never been anything other than brilliant. There has not been a false move. Think of the number of notable characters, characters that have achieved cult-like status in their day (in the UK alone, a lot of the Little Britain & Catherine Tate characters and Brent spring to mind). Saturation and catchphrases killed most of them and if they do make a charity cameo etc. the applause is nostalgic. Even Gervais, who is lauded for changing the landscape, has now effectively neutered Brent. Since On the Hour, so many have come and gone. It's a testament to the genius of the people behind Alan as a comic creation that they hit the perfect note every time.
It's even more laudable when you consider that Alan has a catchphrase too, but he's been so well written, drawn and performed that even his catchphrase, such as it is, is never bludgeoned into the audience, is obviously a serious part of Alan, not some lazy attempt at bleeding an audience for a laugh... and forms such a tiny part of his character that it could disappear and nobody would really know, let alone care.
He's one of the best comic creations the English speaking world has produced.
So yeah, I like him.
