Shout out to all my sops holding that last low E for the full length. For my mezzos, you guys are rock stars! 🤘 For my contraltos, so happy you can finally feel at home in something written for musical theatre (...that isn't written for a tenor).
I came here cause I have a cold and that's the only time I can hit the low E lololol (but also, I was an Alto in high school and couldn't hit the high notes but my range significantly improved as I got older! Woo!)

For everyone complaining about the low E: sing the same Note you sing when you sing “that” in that phrase and thank me later.
Lo ve, sen ven
Llueves flores un edén
Y un cuento empezó
El muchacho es el
Ella no soy yo
Sentir, callar
Y no olvides tu lugar
Guarda fuego en tu interior
Quiere lo mejor
Y no soy yo
Siempre nos vamos a refugiar
A la tierra de “no es verdad”
Pero jamás llega a cambiar
Que triste es la realidad
Ni mal, ni bien
Ella es rubia, el es el
Así fue que la escogió
Busca a alguna que...
A una que... qué no soy yo
Desear... jamás
La esperanza daña más
Y entre perlas se me negó
Ama a alguien, si
La ama y
Y no soy yo
I'm using this as a backing track for an audition....thankyou :) It's brilliant :)
Singing this as a solo in a show tonight
Wish me luck x
whenever I hear this song, I cry because it reminds me so much of what happened to me. And I never saw that boy again 😭
As a mezzo with a fairly high range I'm really happy that I HIT THE E
I can hit the low E, just very *very* quietly. Everything else is totally fine
That is my problem... I can hit it... it just isn't loud enough
Its moments like this that you hate that your range does every freaking note in the song besides the last one
Its beautiful
Moments like this when you LOVE BEING AN ALTO!!! WOOT
That damn E!! Being a soprano 1 has its disadvantages :/
i love this song so much
Wicked has ruined me in the best possible way! I'm on team Wicked Witch of the West forever and always from now on!
my favorite song from this musical!

Hah! I can (just barely) hit that e!!!! I think I’m a high alto (mezzo?) and I’m really proud of getting that.
O seu olhar
Me acende
Tira o ar
Por que eu me sinto assim?
Poderia ser!
Mas não é pra mim
Pra que sonhar?
Não esqueça seu lugar
Nunca deixe esse amor crescer
Poderia ser!
Mas não é pra mim
De vez em quando é bom fugir
Para o mundo da ilusão
Mas não vale a pena me iludir
Se a vida real diz não
Não vai ser meu
Sei que a outra já venceu
Mais linda que um jasmim
Tenho que aceitar!
Que o seu olhar
Não é pra mim
Querer em vão
Só machuca o coração
Não nascem flores no meu jardim
Seja como for
O seu amor!
Não é pra mim
