  • The complete journey aboard the Gold Coast Railway from Roma Street to Varsity Lakes, the present terminus of the line. In the future it will be extended to Coolangatta Airport. This is the 2nd railway to have been built south from Beenleigh - the original South Coast Railway with a branch to the centre of Southport was closed in 1964 at a time where the car was thought to be the answer to all the worlds transport problems.

The journey until Beenleigh seems so slow! Also why do QR keep running trains without toilets on this journey?

Transit Rider because they use the SMU sometimes. In fact it’s pretty much a rarity these days because of the new NGRs where some will be without toilets too.

How do you think Australian trains rank amongst the other stuff you have on this channel

Dan, as I'm originally from Australia I'm in a good place to answer your question - the great days of Australian Railways are very much in the past. Goverments have much to answer for as always.

As a Melbournian I'm finding it very odd not being able to see graffiti everywhere.
