I love it when people stand up for themselves. You didn't like the room so you asked for another one. It also wasn't what you wanted so you moved on. Good job.
I think that changing hotels was totally the only way to go. Trying to work and not disturb Phil at the same time would have been nearly impossible. Love your videos so much!
Can't tell you how much I love your travel vlogs - glad you stood up for yourself but am also now terrified of the room sizes when we go to NY next year, as we will definitely be travelling on a BUDGET... Broom cupboard, here we come! 😖😜
I'm so obsessed with your channel! Only discovered it yesterday and I think I've watched all of your videos...haha! I really find you so inspirational. I love how successful and hard-working you are, while also being genuine and down to earth. Please keep making these vlogs - and definitely some more on work/career!
Hi Ange and Phil, loving your vlog, you two together are Awesome.... I can't believe how small that hotel room was, with such a yucky view, I'm glad you were able to change hotels for one so much better, and a lot more room. How fantastic would it have been if Phil could have set up his drum kit in Central Park, or even just sat on a rock with his guitar, I'm sure the whole of Central Park would have come to a stand still to watch..... Looking forward to your shopping reveal when you get home. And looking forward to the next installment of your New York vlog... Hope your talk went really well... Sending you both tons of love and big hugz 💐💐💐💐💐💐xxxxxxx
Hey guys !!! So happy you switched hotels!! We have done the same with hotel rooms and switching them too ! I bet it was a relief !!! Lol The park looks gorgeous this time of year, hope you are both having a lovely time ! Hugs
The Plaza food hall is my favorite lunch spot when I'm in that area. So many tasty options. I'm really enjoying your vlogging thank you for taking the time to do them.
Get the boy bag!! I been contemplating for months!! Finally got it and so happy!! I think it will hold its value, it has been out for more than 4 yrs so far it sells for its price or more on the secondhand market! I have the jumbo like yours too so I have a classic and a fun edgy one too!! Great vlog! Love u too!
If I may add a comment about the Chanel Boy and pre-loved bags? Although I fully understand what the vintage store ladies were talking about, personally I don't even think about buying bags for their resell value. I buy a bag because I love it and will want to use it. I have a Chanel classic flap, and I didn't buy it as an investment piece. I bought it because it was a dream of mine to own one, and I know I will never, ever sell it. I own other bags (above £500 plus and up) which don't hold necessarily the same place in my heart as my classic, and I may sell them down the line, but do I care I may only get a fraction of the cost back that I paid for it? No. Instead, I have had the pleasure of owning, using and loving them, leaving great memories of our time together, and the warm thought that a new person will get enjoyment from it next. I look at it like buying a brand new car. It 'leaks' money as soon as you drive off the forecourt, and will never sell for the same price second-hand. It's a price you pay for being the initial owner. So I say, if you want one, will use it and can afford it... You go, girl! Just think if the fun you and your 'Boy' could have! 😉 (Insta/Twt TheCraftyScribe)
I agree with everything you said. I buy my bags because I love them and use them. I would love to buy a Chanel and if that ever became a reality I would never sell it...
I love NYC. I always go to that same Bloomingdales and hit every Sephora in site which by the way plentiful in that area. My ex and I walked from 51 street and Lex all the way to 77th street in Central Park once. I got my face sketched by one of the vendors in the park. It was awesome and the city is awesome. Have fun and I can't wait to see the next blog. 😊😊
Have just stumbled across your channel, very cool. Loving the Vlog from the states, reminded me of my trip over :) Can't wait to see what else you have loaded. :) Gayle
Hi Ange and Phil! While in NJ, try to visit Jersey Gardens Mall, Short Hills Mall (high end) and Jersey Shore Premium outlets (which is by South Jersey). If you want to go further south, visit Atlantic City, that's our mini Las Vegas. There's a premium shopping outlet mall too aside from Caesar's Palace "The Pier" where you can find a few high end stores like Louis Vuitton. We don't pay taxes for buying clothings and shoes. Just so you know. Have fun!
Queen of Sheba The rooms in New York do vary an awful lot in size but that first hotel was tiny! Guess that they expect you only to be in your hotel room to sleep.
You were not unreasonable at all! My mom and I stayed at the palace hotel during Christmas for around $300 and the room was beautiful and so spacious! I would have left too. Love these NYC vlogs!
Ugg that hotel room was wayyy to small for the price. Your new hotel is a whole suite for the same price, in the same city, good call on making the switch. Thanks for "bringing us along".
So fun to watch you guys, by the way "ono" meaning in Hawaiian is delicious I'm glad you guys like Hawaii I'm born and raised there but I moved here in the mainland😀
I was in Archer hotel in 2010 the staff was friendly but the rooms were really small for the price so my partner and I rented a serviced apartment down wall street from a fellow Aussie because we stay in NY for three months , turned out to be cheaper option :) try the Hilton it's bit bigger.
Try the Fitzpatrick Manhattan hotel next time your in New York! I stay in it all the time and it's amazing! Massive suites at quite a decent price and a 3 minute walk from Bloomingdales, 7 minutes from 5th Avenue and Central Park!
So happy you went for the walk in Beautiful Central Park. The Plaza for Lunch then off to Bergdorf Goodman. I almost thought you skipped BG. Thank God you didn't.😉
I completely agree with you on the new york room!! $450 for a room like that is ridiculous.. I had the same problem when i was there tiny room for alot of money! Hope you had a lovely time I love your vlogs
Ange, When you pointed out Sephora I had to write to say to try the NARS Audacious lipstick in Michiyo. It's "your" colour and the formulas are fabulous. I know you said you weren't shopping on this trip, but I saw the end of your video and your goody bags, so maybe a trip to Sephora is feasible after all : 0 ) I too am looking forward to your TED talk. How exciting!
Luv luv luv ur videos. U must visit Mitsuwa over at edgewater, NJ. Great view of the NYC skyline while enjoying fresh sushi and enjoying the little shops. Have fun!
$450 is a lot for that room! My husband and I stayed right near Times Square our room was small but a little bigger than the rooms at the Archer for 250 a night we really enjoyed it and the location was amazing. I'm glad you switched hotels! That was a rip off even for New York!!
I would have thought you would have researched the archer hotel before staying there. Most reviews say rooms are small and there are pics on tripadvisor. However, I do agree for $450 a night it is ridiculously expensive. I'm glad they were willing to not charge a cancellation fee and that you found a hotel better suited to your needs :)
I doubt you're going all the way into central Jersey, but one of the best pizzas in the country is a tomato pie from DeLorenzo's in Robbinsvile, NJ. I recommend pepperoni and garlic, or sausage and extra oil.
Great video. Regarding the Boy Bag. If you love it that is all that matters. In fact they are exceeding the original boutique prices on the preloved market so are proving to be a great little investment piece too. But that is just a side point. It is a great bag 👍🏻😘
I was trying to figure out why I knew your faces... UA-cam! Duh! Haha, you and Phil just popped into Maggy Frances while I was working and I wish I would've said something. Enjoy New York :)
I don't think you were unreasonable for expecting more for $450 a night. When I saw the room, I was wondering where you were going to put all the luggage, Phil's guitar, computers, and tea set up. I live in Baltimore and wanted to stay the night in NY for shows and shopping, but the hotels are a rip off in NY.
That hotel looked brand new, and it seems like the newer the hotel the smaller the rooms and the higher the price. I probably won't have moved, but no judgment. You should be happy with what you pay for. Plus, there was only one desk chair to sit down on other than the bed and no storage. They should lift the beds or something for luggage if the room is so tiny. Glad you had a nice trip.
Next time when you are in NY, you should consider staying at Langham on 5th ave (free beverages) or The Conrad in Battery Park City. The room are decently sized for NY standards.
oh, NY is like London, you're basically paying just for the location. I'm sure they had other rooms, but instead chose to show you even smaller room for a comparison so you wouldn't complain. Benjamin looks huge on the other hand!
Check out Beauty & Essex for dinner or drinks. And you should definitely take a walk on the Highline if you haven't done so already. If you have time check out The Met, there's a beautiful Chinese exhibition going on now. Or take a walk from Soho to Little Italy (don't recommend any restaurants) to Chinatown and then onto the Brooklyn Bridge. Make your way to Brooklyn Height, the promenade for a view of the Manhattan skyline or trip to Dumbo with interesting restaurants and shops. There is so much to explore in NY. Enjoy!
I see that Phil likes Deli food, since you guys are in NY, have you stopped by Katz Deli? He will love their sandwiches! Oh! And don't forget to stop by the shake shack at Madison square park 👍🏽
Love your vlogs! I do not think it's unreasonable to want to maximize value for your money, that room was pricy for the size. Enjoy your trip and good luck with your speech! Gaetane :)
You shouldn't worry, it's your cash and if you weren't happy spending it on that hotel, then take it someone else. Looks like your having lots of fun x
You look beautiful Angela! I totally understand your point with the hotel. The room was nice, but not nice enough for the money you were paying. It was a very reasonable request! Hope you are enjoying your trip!
Love your vlogs💖👏🏽🌟 But I got a bit sad when you were complaining about then "small" hotel room. I live with my family in Switzerland and we got a 4 bedroom apartment. My parents actually sleep in a room which similar to the size of that hotel room. we also got pretty much the same view (office building) ... it's not that bad Ange...
Of course. Sorry if I upset you. As you can see by the hotel we moved to for a cheaper rate that we were clearly getting ripped off. That was my issue. I have no problem staying there if it was a reasonable rate. But we were getting charged at suite rates which it clearly wasn't. Again, sorry if I offended you. I would never intend to do so. That makes me upset. Sorry x
i much as i find phil's opinion always very logic and funny...the 2.55 wasn't a classic when it came out years ago and now....we will abso-fucking-lutely kill for one...i find the small boy a very chic but rock'roll alternative to the wocs... love your vlogs!, kisses from barcelona for the queen and king!
You should not feel like a diva at all for wanting a room for the money. I think if you are willing to pay for something it should definitely be to your liking. I would have definitely changed hotels. You are not alone. lol
Yes i here you on the hard work on the money you make that room is very small for $450 a night now you know not to go back to that hotel and you can recommend that to people you don't like one of my friends dos that but haha i don't think you should, I heard the Marriott hotel is great to youtube peps they gave a really awesome room to your fellow youtubers Mark & Ethan when they were in NYC
Oh thanks for pointing that out. I only speak for myself. Not others. Some people win the lottery. Others inherit money. Etc. I meant it from the point of view that we both run our own businesses and are self employed. Sorry you misunderstood. Wasn't being arrogant. Have a great day x
Hard to know where to stay in a city like NYC when you live so far away. We always stay at the Hyatt at Grand Central Station. No charm whatsoever but a great price for a suite, plenty of room to work and easy access to transportation all over the city.
I agree with you there was another you tuber I watched who also payed a lot for a room just as small and they were not happy. I can't blame them or you it is outrageous to pay that kind of money for the size room. Rip off
I cannot stop laughing at Phil relaxing squashed up against the wardrobe. So funny. I nearly burnt my leg with coffee.
I love it when people stand up for themselves. You didn't like the room so you asked for another one. It also wasn't what you wanted so you moved on. Good job.
I enjoy the city vlogs. Looking forward to part 3. I hope you continue to have good weather.
And not ungrateful at all, you decide how you wanna spend your money!
I always get excited when I see you uploaded a new video! Love your vlogs!
You and Phil are just so amazing! Love you both! Your vlogs are the highlight of my day! )))

I love it too. I'll get it one day. I have set a goal for myself and when I reach it, it's mine!!! ;-)
Love your vlogs! You and Phil are a match made in heaven. Have fun in the U.S. And good luck on your Tedtalk! :-) Aloha from Maui 🌴🌺
The boy bag will hold its value, I think it's already been out long enough to be a classic! Great vlogs!

Hi Ange! Great vlog! I just love you two! I also love the lipstick that you are wearing! Do you mind sharing what it is! :) Hugs!! Karen xoxo
What a difference in the rooms. We stay at the Sofitel when in New York and love it.
Have just stumbled across your channel, very cool. Loving the Vlog from the states, reminded me of my trip over :) Can't wait to see what else you have loaded. :) Gayle
The room at the Archer was ridiculously small! I will remember the Benjamin hotel for the future!! Can't wait to see your shopping haul next time
Yeh Benjamin was great. And we are loving the Soho grand hotel now too x
Got to love Phil he is so funny

Another great vlog. Thank you for showing us the rooms. The Benjamin hotel was lovely. How did you pick the Archer? Did the travel agent recommend it?
I saw it online and read some good reviews.. It was a rushed process. I usually take more time.
Queen of Sheba The rooms in New York do vary an awful lot in size but that first hotel was tiny! Guess that they expect you only to be in your hotel room to sleep.
Thanks for sharing NY with us - looks such an amazing place :)
Ye definitely made the right decision about the hotel. It was really small for the price. Really enjoying the vlogs. Looking forward to the next one!
You were not unreasonable at all! My mom and I stayed at the palace hotel during Christmas for around $300 and the room was beautiful and so spacious! I would have left too. Love these NYC vlogs!

Please do a handbag collection or wardrobe tour 😊🙏😍
Enjoyed pt2 thx again and gosh that hotel with the small space at that price is to avoid!
Totally!!! Thanks for watching x

Hi, when you went for the Hawaiian food at 2:03 the chap sat at the back of you and Phil was really enjoying what he was eating lol xxx
Haha. Phil loves his Hawaiian food!
So happy you went for the walk in Beautiful Central Park. The Plaza for Lunch then off to Bergdorf Goodman. I almost thought you skipped BG. Thank God you didn't.😉
Yikes, for $450 a night, I would expect to be treated as a Princess! You should have expected more even if it is New York.
I completely agree with you on the new york room!! $450 for a room like that is ridiculous.. I had the same problem when i was there tiny room for alot of money! Hope you had a lovely time I love your vlogs

Hearing you say that you played softball makes me like you even more :) I was a catcher for 15 years
Oh wow. Pitcher and catcher! What a team! Love softball!!!
I doubt you're going all the way into central Jersey, but one of the best pizzas in the country is a tomato pie from DeLorenzo's in Robbinsvile, NJ. I recommend pepperoni and garlic, or sausage and extra oil.
You guys should have dinner at Bistro Chat Noir. It's on E 66th between 5th and Madison. Amazing little French bistro! You will not be disappointed.
i love you!

Enchanting Vlog !!!! Love your gold aviator type sunnies, what kind are they?
Thanks Beth. They are from Dior x
Magnolia bakery in NYC! Where will you be in NJ? There's great restaurants depending on where you're staying. :)
Is there a video of your Ted talk?
Amber Canaan Are you like me and living vicariously through Queen of Sheba? lol I LOVE New York!
Amber Canaan she hasnt done her ted talk yet. i cant wait when her tedtalk's out online though!
Next time when you are in NY, you should consider staying at Langham on 5th ave (free beverages) or The Conrad in Battery Park City. The room are decently sized for NY standards.
Thank you!!! I'll check them out x

Love your VLOG. Still waiting on you TEDx video!
Are you still happy with The Benjamin? Looks very comfy and nice.
Cheers from germany!
$450 a night! I've been in rooms in NYC for less that are double that size. I know this was a few years ago but, that was crazy.
I see that Phil likes Deli food, since you guys are in NY, have you stopped by Katz Deli? He will love their sandwiches! Oh! And don't forget to stop by the shake shack at Madison square park 👍🏽
And Ange WE work very very hard too!! xxx
Exactly!!! Which is why I get upset when companies try to rip people off. xx
Are they trimmed in white or ivory with gold?
Love your vlogs! I do not think it's unreasonable to want to maximize value for your money, that room was pricy for the size. Enjoy your trip and good luck with your speech! Gaetane :)
You shouldn't worry, it's your cash and if you weren't happy spending it on that hotel, then take it someone else. Looks like your having lots of fun x
You look beautiful Angela! I totally understand your point with the hotel. The room was nice, but not nice enough for the money you were paying. It was a very reasonable request! Hope you are enjoying your trip!
Thank you so much! Glad I wasn't over reacting - I felt like a bit of a brat but it wasn't right x
Check out Speedy's - Cnr Broadway and W32nd Street. Great healthy take out food.
Sorry x
Phil is so funny
$450 for that hole in the wall is absolutely ridiculous, what a rip off. I've been to NYC once, and we stayed at the W, it was lovely.
what foundation are you using in this video
really interesting glad you moved hotels it would be depressing not to feel happy have fun as you do
Yeh had to move hotels. It just wasn't right
i much as i find phil's opinion always very logic and funny...the 2.55 wasn't a classic when it came out years ago and now....we will abso-fucking-lutely kill for one...i find the small boy a very chic but rock'roll alternative to the wocs... love your vlogs!, kisses from barcelona for the queen and king!
Thank you!! I agree !! Xxx
You should not feel like a diva at all for wanting a room for the money. I think if you are willing to pay for something it should definitely be to your liking. I would have definitely changed hotels. You are not alone. lol

News flash!! We all work hard for our money!! Not just you!!

I'm completely over the boy bag, the seal is to short and it's not a classic. I'm with phill on this.
