Glad it's out there now for everyone. As always I know Stephen will be worried because he loves Mal but I'm sure everything will be fine with this surgery. And honestly Mal being happy is the only thing you can want.
It's so upsetting to hear you're both staring down the barrel of our awful dystopian healthcare system yet again, but I'm happy to see Mal taking it in stride, and continuing to take steps to improve her quality of life and be happier in her own skin. Hoping surgery went well and recovery goes well and wishing her the best.
It's absolutely criminal that health insurance companies would rather see their insured in a coffin than pay a dime towards life-saving and health-improving treatments.
Gosh. As a Brit, I have many issues with our country. But I cannot imagine having to worry about the cost of all the treatments my loved ones have had to go through over the years. My mum has had a history of health problems and it all started with her being precautious enough to go to the hospital due to pain (which then led to a scan and a revelation that she needed life saving surgery that same night.) I can confidently say that she wouldn't be with us now if we had to pay, as we wouldn't have been able to justify the cost of calling an ambulance to go to the hospital on a whim. I don't want to think about how many people in other countries don't have that luxury and have ended up in tragic circumstances because of it. What a sad state of affairs. I echo your thoughts of Mal + Stephen taking it in their stride and also wish them the best!
My wife had it done when she was 18. The recovery process was tough for a few days, but all in all went really well and she is so happy she did it! Wishing you well on the surgery. Hopefully all goes well and you have a fast recovery and no further back issues :)
I usually watch the Vlogs in order but I wanted to watch this one as soon as I knew it was coming. As a Patron I’ve obviously had some heads up on this happening, and I’ve maybe said something on those channels, but I just want to say that I’m so glad that you are making all these steps to improve your life(and that from things that have been said on Breakfast Stream that the surgery went well) and hopefully this is the last big thing you guys need to go through for a WHILE. I wish you the best healing journey possible and I hope you get to come back to steams as soon as possible! Much love to you two and all of the Raleigh Collective and the greater GeorgCorp family. Also(and I say this as a US citizen, and also forgive my language), and I cannot say this stronger, fuck the US Health Insurance system so hard.
Mal has been such a trooper throughout all of these years and honestly she is a superhero to me I know this will go by perfectly well and everything will be okay.
So this was the surgery Stephen mentioned on breakfast stream. Still absolutely disgusting that some health insurance companies still won’t cover procedures like this, but considering how well Mal recovered from her endo surgery quite well, she’ll recover from this smaller one quite well.
To be fair it sounds like they didn't bother to try and see if this could be covered. Most companies won't cover elective breast reduction surgery and would require some sort of proof that the surgery was medically necessary. They may have been able to get this covered especially since Mal has been thoughtful and has been documenting this for that past 10 years. But I completely understand why they don't want to go through the headache of gathering documentation and going back and fourth with insurance.
i love how this surgery is coming to fruition after hearing about it on the patreon! good vides for mals recovery! it is also very frustrating having this insurrance company blocking you guys from getting even partial coverage for this or the 2021 incisions. I know you guys wouldnt do it if you werent able to but you shouldnt have had to pay outta pocket like this both times. once again good vibes
Good luck, Mal! I'm proud of you for putting yourself and your well-being first, and I can't believe it's been almost two years since the endo surgery! Stoked for you to be in even less pain and sending well wishes for a speedy recovery.
I've been actually researching breast reduction surgery for myself so it would be really helpful if you could share your experience and recovery journey. Ofc if you're comfortable with sharing
The surgery itself isn't too bad but post opp can be irritating as you have to be careful. Also might not be fun if U r sensitive to meds. But it is a small inconvenience to have to be free of the issues from being busty . Also at least when I had mine done 20 years ago, I was told I may not be able to breast feed due to scaring.
@@lifepawsandhoofbeats4080 thanks for replying. I've heard about breast feeding issue but that's not a problem in my case. I also heard about loss in sensitivity but as you said small price to pay. But i would like to prepare myself for: how long after surgery before you can take shower, wear normal clothes, etc
@@confusedopal8244 a few days for the shower, just be careful around the incisions. As for clothing nothing tight for at least 2 weeks and no traditional bra for at least that long. They will supply you with a special bra to wear, they'll let how often and for how long to wear it. At least that how it went with me but the doctor doing the surgery will get into more detail durring the consultation. They may even give you a booklet. Don't be afraid to ask questions, they may forget to mention somethings as Like with most surgeries there is alot.
The last time that I remember the vlog started like this in this angle it was you guys saying she was quitting her teacher job and I cried a little. Really glad she's recovering well and I'm happy you guys could do something that helps the health improve 🥰
congratulations on the surgery mal !! i hope you're recovering well~ i'm actually around 4 months into breast reduction recovery myself and i can 100% say that quality of life improves instantly! im so happy you were able to move forward with this and im wishing you a steady recovery
Sending good vibes! While I don't see myself going through that type of surgery (being a natural A-cup and proud), I'm sure things will go well for Mal.
Mal took a long road to recover from the Endo Surgery. So best of vibes for Mal! She'll pull through as she always has! Gotta take good care of her when it's over, Stephen! Great vibes for both of you. Good Health, and much happiness together! You two got this. I believe.
Mal, I’ve had breast reduction surgery for all the reasons you stated. I struggle sometimes with my decision, but the result is overwhelmingly positive. Sending good vibes and a wishes for a quick recovery. It will not be great the first few weeks, but your great support system will make it easier.
I had a feeling this is what it was, and I'm so happy for you, Mal! I'm so glad you were able to do this to improve your quality of life. I'm glad it all went well, and happy healing!
Growing up, once I hit puberty and my breasts grew to anime sizes I suffered from back pain. I got my reduction at age 20. I have never been happier. I still get some back pain, but over all I stand and sit taller and I am so much happier. So happy for you Mal!
I know a friend of mine, long-time fan of the channel, has gone through this surgery and has felt a lot better afterward. I'm glad Mal's finally in a position to do this! ❤
As soon as Alex said it was a procedure that Mal has actually wanted for a while, I knew it had to be something like this or laser eye surgery. I'm happy for Mal! ❤
I'm so happy for you! I can imagine that finally going through with life-improving surgery has to be one of the most freeing things. I wish Mal a smooth recovery and you both the very best!
Yes I’m so happy for you Mal!!! People don’t realize how much of a difference breast reduction can make to your quality of life, and I hate that it’s such a fight not worth battling with insurance. I hope the recovery goes well and sending good vibes!! 💜
I’m happy to hear that Mal is going to be getting the surgery she wants. I hope it goes well and she recovers quickly from it. My spouse and I are always rooting for you two and want the best for team Smalin.
Good luck Mal, I'm so happy that you get to do something that will make you feel better, especially if it is something that has been bothering you for such a long time. I hope everything will go well, sending hugs and good thoughts
So many good vibes! Im glad you guys have so many people around to help take care of you and help out with everything. I hope you have a speedy recovery and that your back and neck feel so much better!
As a fellow large chest woman who wants to have reduction surgery one day, I am so happy to hear you are taking care of yourself! I also am so happy to see Stephen supports you in this too. I feel like I've met too many men that would be like BUT MY BIG BOOBIES, NOOOO but he's not that way. Wishing good vibes to you Mal ❤
Here's hoping for a safe surgery, an easy recovery (or at least as close to such as possible), and much less further time having to deal with the insurance industry. Your health and safety is paramount, Mal. Do what you need to do. We're all with you.
I’m so sorry Mal that this was happening 💕 Females with larger breasts can relate and it’s so hard to have the pain and such. I hope things get better soon and it is a smooth recovery 💕💕💕
Sending good vibes! I’ve known people who have had great experiences with the surgery. You’ve mentioned wanting to start lifting, and reducing the forward weight will help with your posture, which is very important for safe technique
I had a friend who had back pains from it and I did lose contact with her but I know that she wanted this surgery so wherever she is, hope it went well if she went through with it. Equally, I wish you well and I can't imagine how great it must be to have relief from back pains. Good luck!
This can be scary but it's better than dealing with and or hiding from the daily pain. You can do it this will make you stronger you will feel better without back pain neck pain ect. So proud of you for taking this step all the postie vibes for very healthy recovery.
Good luck Mal! My mom had breast reduction surgery and the recovery was rough for her. It differs for each person obviously, but just make sure you have plenty of rest and help. My mom could not do anything by herself so the support you have is going to help immensely. You will be fine though and you will feel better after!
I had a classmate who at the age of 16-18 already had a large chest, she was an athlete and was very always active and trying to healthy but she had such bad backpain because of it so I completely understand it as a medical need. Im glad you get to do it after wanting and needing it for so long.
This video makes me happy, not just for Mal speaking up for her health and comfort, and Stephen being the unconditionally supporting husband he's always been, (great to see queens marry kings) but it's also kind of beautiful to me to see you guys feel you can trust your community enough to be open about this. Breasts and breast surgeries are so stigmatized and sexualized, so I can imagine how vulnerable someone might feel discussing this in front of thousands of people online. I guess that's just another example of Mal exhibiting ownership of her own body, and being an inspiration to all the women watching to do the same. 🫡
I’ve had a friend who’s had this surgery, she’s so much happier since getting it done. I also want to get it done, but I worry about fighting insurance about it since I’m disabled and had some spinal issues already. Hope it helps you Mal!

Spoilers from the future, but I’m so glad the surgery went well! Continue to rest up Mal 💙
This is the best spoiler ever
I'm more than OK to know that kind of spoiler
I know several people who’ve had a reduction and NONE of them regret it. Sending good vibes and quick recovery!
I know I didn't I'm a shortie and I was huge, my surgeon was surprised I was still moving around like I was.
Mal advocating for her health is just super inspiring. Post-endo Mal continues to be unstoppable!
Mal advocating for her health needs has inspired me so much these past few years. I'm once again so proud of and grateful for her. 💙💙💙
Glad it's out there now for everyone. As always I know Stephen will be worried because he loves Mal but I'm sure everything will be fine with this surgery. And honestly Mal being happy is the only thing you can want.

Good luck for the surgery and may it be a smooth recovery!
Good vibes Mal!! Super glad the surgery went well and I'm hoping recovery will go just as well, especially with the Raleigh collective on your side ❤
Hope the recovery goes well!
