Post rock just hits differently sometimes. Depending on how you're feeling, a seemingly happy tune can feel like a slideshow of your childhood, showing moments of joy, sorrow, and a youthful child with dreams and aspirations. When I see these images, I'm brought to the idea that I've really done nothing with myself. Those memories soon become the memories I wish to start from again. Seeing those images almost as a subtly lit hue while behind me is shrouded with nothing, no darkness, no light, no idea of what resides beyond that expanse, an uncertain future, dead dreams. I wish for my life to be different but I know it's a fruitless thought and only hastens the existential thoughts. I feel almost completely empty and idk where I'm going. I don't have a goal of where I want to be and even if I did, what's the point? Happiness seems like a delicious treat but only temporary. The emptiness slowly creeps around me, pulling me into as pain, tears, and self loathing makes its way out. Life can be beautiful for only for a tiny instance. Everything is temporary so why bother when I can live in a fantasy in my own mind that has infinite possiblities. Tomorrow I'll forget I ever felt this way. Tomorrow I'll never even think about this. Tomorrow will be different. That's what I think keeps me going. Though I'll never off myself, giving up seems very tempting when trying seems like a boundless and pointless venture. Maybe one day I'll truly be happy. One day I'll stop being pathetic.
Don't live the past. It's a dead end. Been there, done that. Actually I'm still doing that, but finally seems like less and less with the time. For example yesterday I got rid of one sentiment, at the same time cutting off all the grief, unfulfilled dreams, and countless possibilities that could potentially lead to even more wasted time. What a relief it was. Simply put: Just get on with stuff. Get yourself a pet or join me in video games online. You never know what might make you tick 😉
Start by choosing a goal for your life, like a great thing to accomplish over time. Your goal might evolve on the way there. When you're guided to something you think is worth acting or fighting for, now it's really worth it. I want to build a better world for future generations. It's something bigger than me, so I start things at my level. Then I'll work with others who have the same goal. We can do it 💪
@@Kevin-vj2ut Ah yes, can't be a niche genre without that one person commenting that it's underrated or not mainstream friendly. The world absolutely knows it exists and the same time it doesn't. It doesn't matter when literally everyone is missing out on something. Let's just enjoy our little piece of the universe even if it's not in the center. Sorry for coming at you like this lol, it's just a pattern I see in a lot of "niche" communities.
So I went from Thrash to Death Metal to Black Metal and in the weirdness of things I search of something even harder but then stumbled upon Post Rock .. and everything else is in the past. This is where I'll stay. I found my happy place in this crazy universe. And I want to stay here. Thanks
I am very grateful and happy to have found "post-rock" this year, I can say that this was an essential help to be able to get here. I wish all the good things in the world to everyone who shares all their feelings here!!!... And to the administrator of this channel, I want you to always know how much we love you, you do a huge good to the world. Thanks for everything !!! ... As for this year's songs, out of all the fantastic songs I met, I will keep a very special one, I know it was released several years ago, but I only met it in 2020, and I must having heard it hundreds of times, and I dedicate to all of you: * Shels - Butterflies (On Luci's Way). Cheers and love to everyone !!! ...: D;) (sorry my bad English, I'm still learning)
This song, "* Shels - Butterflies (On Luci's Way)" is the last song in the video "Post-rock songs to enjoy your sadness", published on this channel on June 23, 2020, and which for me is one of the best of all times!!!... ;)
For many people this year was a shitty one, but to me it was quite the opposite. I lived harsh things the first half of the year, but the second one I got free. I discovered post-rock at the exact same time when I started putting an end to my depression. The first tracks I listened to back then are still in my mind, and I treasure them as they helped me find the strength to carry on in my healing time. I am thankful to the creators of post-rock all around the world and thankful to this one person who makes these awesome playlists. Forever, thank you 💛 I'd like to share the most precious post-rock song to me, hoping it can maybe help you like it helped me. Happy new year everyone, let's look forward to this year together and grow stronger and brighter. Goodnight ♡ Bonjr - It's ok, you're ok
Same here, 2019 was hell (I do not advise you to go out with a narcissistic boyfriend who will assault you). 2020 is really better even though I had covid and still have issues breathing, I met my actual boyfriend, work at home helped me regain peace and track what is really important for me. All is a question of sight and perspective.
Lol, It's Almost The Opposite For Me, The First Part Of The Year Was Pretty Decent For Me, But Then In The Latter Part, Especially The Last 3 Months, I Found Out I Was Depressed (Or Possibly Became As Such, I'm Not Quite Sure...), Around The Same Time I Found Post-Rock, And Then Slowly Became More Depressed Until The End Of The Year... But Hopefully I Can Do Better This Year, Get Back To The State I Was In At The Start Of Last, I Still Have Hope, And Music, And With Those Two Things I Should Be Able To Make It Through!
@@rateeightx You can do it, I believe in you ! Dont let toxic people get to you, follow your heart and dont give up. When you get out of this, you'll see how beautiful life can be. I fell in love with life at the end of my depression, and it's an awesome feeling. Learn to enjoy simple things, notice the smallest hints of joy in people, and mostly DO things ! Whatever it may be : walking, reading, resting (but not sleeping all day :3), sky gazing... You can find happiness in the simpliest things. It takes time, love and hope, but you can get through it. I know you are capable, so don't lose hope and enjoy every moment you can 💛
This sounds for me like when you open up about something you never spoke about: mental illness, abuse, maybe leaving a toxic person. Right after you cease crazy-crying, it comes the feeling of finally starting to heal, that everything has sucked for the longest time but from now on you're free to get better, to heal. I'm not sure if this is relatable, but it's what it reminds me of

I found post-rock by wikipedia's random page. It lead me to a song from an irish post-rock band, I don't remember the name. It's really good, and I would've never found it otherwise. I'm happy I clicked the "random page" button!
Man, i will forever be grateful for introducing me to Sadness and especially Hope You Never Forget. This wont be an exageration, I have listened to this song hundreds of times, might even be more of a thousand by now, such a beautiful piece of art.I don't think i heard anything better in my life

I do not know anything about post rock. I googled guitar pedal board alternative routing and found a video how to set guitar pedal boards for post rock, now I am here with you lively and lovely people. P. S Reminds me of Mogwai, Early Pink Floyd and Arab Strap. There are some elements of Progressive rock hear.
I'll never grow tired of post rock, it's my go to comfort music which I treasure, thank you for this list. Can recommend In the shade of the sun by kapitan korsakov and I love you but in the end i will destroy you by goonies never say die for anyone looking for good music
I just realized, that since the moment I discovered post rock I haven't really listened to other genres much. I still listen to lofi when doing homework, but when I want to _listen_ to something, I listen to post rock 99% of the time
I discovered post rock through Halo Infinite's multiplayer soundtrack. If you have any other post rock bands that you recommend please share I'm enjoying this genre 🤘
@@shaneholloway1250 my favorite band is The Evpatoria Report. Check their album Golevka, the whole thing is a masterpiece. Fav tracks: Taijin Kyofusho, Cosmic Call. They also have an amazing bonus track named Naptalan
I just found post-rock and I'm loving it, the first song reminds me of someone finding the ruins of the Roman empire and walking around the desolate streets, just imagine that feeling.

@@canaras9512 Man. I'm late to this and I really hope you see it. If you're new to the genre then I'd search that on UA-cam. People have put together all kinds of playlists for people to get introduced to posty. That being said, I think there are some really good places to start: 1. This Will Destroy You (earlier stuff - graduate up to the new stuff which is genius) 2. Caspian (kinda radio friendly post-rock. the stuff you'd hear on a car commercial) 3. Mono (epic) 4. yndi halda (some really cool use of the violin) 5. this patch of sky (perfection) 6. R A N G E S (love these boys)

This is a beautiful set of music. I would like to see it developed to ten hours or a bit more for sleep. It is not entirely smooth, but it rivals much of the ambient. The songs gathered in this mix are very well done. Thank you for making life better. God bless you.
Well... Goodbye 2020, it was a great year, it was one of my best years (RIP all the people who died this year) But thanks for this year, thanks for this night. Thanks.
Llevo escuchando esta recopilación desde el 2021, y pues me ayuda mucho relajándome, más la primera canción que reproduce, me ayuda a estar tranquilo ya qué hay veces que uno necesita estar solo por tantos problemas.
impressive work now when i think about after relistening it 10 times. Most of this names are pretty fkn unknown but you found them, unite and shed a little light. Which is good
Beyond the normal business of life, we dare to live with just a penny on our hands... it's just about going on, some with a penny, and some with a smile... where does happiness lie, I wonder if you could tell me? But we are all, after all, peas on the same pod, my friend. trying so hard to be something we are not...
nice playlist. But why (for example at song nr 7) has post-rock so common, that it gets silent and then just hits in in full volume. Might be a cool musical effect, but it just hurts my ears and is actually really bad for hearing (sudden increases in volume are much worse than slow ones, as the ear can adapt)
Post some ALCEST, they're pretty popular & aren't really classified as Post rock but their music has these Post rock elements specially the album Shelter.
@@joshcohen6800 These are the songs that I think you'll like - les voyages de l'âme, Deliverance, Kodama (track), Le miroir, spiritual instinct (track), Circe poisoning the sea, voix sereines, l'eveil des muses & autre temps
@@joshcohen6800 Out of all the tracks I mentioned only Deliverance (my favourite on Shelter), Voix sereines & l'eveil des muses was from the album Shelter.

"the abyss inside us" sounds more like melodic doom metal than post rock 😂 goddamn is it good though 😂 reminds me of "saturnus, Veronica decides to die" album, or "clouds, doliu" album.
Why isn't there more actual singing in this cool genre? It's like technology has allowed a new generation of instrumentalists to release really good music to the masses but still the age-old thing of writing a (vocal) song is where the genius lays, alluding many...
@@wodenoftheangles3339 writing a great vocal and writing a great instrumental both need talent. Look how Hans Zimmer composes great music, or Mozart and others. It doesn't matter if there's words or not, it's more about the feeling it conveys

I'd like to share the most precious post-rock song to me, hoping it can maybe help you like it helped me. Happy new year everyone, let's look forward to this year together and grow stronger and brighter. Goodnight ♡
Bonjr - It's ok, you're ok
I love bonjrs music, especially that song
@@demembree 2019 was probably the worst year I ever lived ^^' Im glad to learn you're better now ! I hope you still in peace for the longest time :3
@@rateeightx You can do it, I believe in you ! I know you are capable, so don't lose hope and enjoy every moment you can 💛
World has post-rock and UA-cam has Worldhaspostrock
Happy New Year to everyone. I hope you will reach your dreams.
So the genre that I was looking for is "Post-rock" Thank you so much for this.
This sounds for me like when you open up about something you never spoke about: mental illness, abuse, maybe leaving a toxic person. Right after you cease crazy-crying, it comes the feeling of finally starting to heal, that everything has sucked for the longest time but from now on you're free to get better, to heal.
I'm not sure if this is relatable, but it's what it reminds me of
I cannot express with words how much I love post rock
Hi :) we just released a new song, you might like it ! ua-cam.com/video/gqJTOr9Hhas/v-deo.html Feel free to follow us and most important, share if you like it :)
Nothing better than post everything. 30 years of digging into underground music as lead me to an intense love of all things post. Great bands here, quite a few that are new to me.

2020 was a very Post-Rock kind of year.
thanks for adding "lullaby" Can!#whpr
I found post-rock by wikipedia's random page. It lead me to a song from an irish post-rock band, I don't remember the name. It's really good, and I would've never found it otherwise. I'm happy I clicked the "random page" button!
Man, i will forever be grateful for introducing me to Sadness and especially Hope You Never Forget. This wont be an exageration, I have listened to this song hundreds of times, might even be more of a thousand by now, such a beautiful piece of art.I don't think i heard anything better in my life
Hey...
It’s ok 🙂
Thank you
Ок. Удачи

post rock works best in existential crisis.
Yalnızken bana güc veren müzik türü ♥️
I do not know anything about post rock. I googled guitar pedal board alternative routing and found a video how to set guitar pedal boards for post rock, now I am here with you lively and lovely people.
P. S
Reminds me of Mogwai, Early Pink Floyd and Arab Strap.
I got to see This Will Destroy You a few years back. They opened for Deafhaven. Deafheaven didnt even come close.... Such a great band.
As your music flows, my poetries go on a rampage, into the abyss of a heart that knows not way to "home"
My fav post rock song is first breath after a coma
Great song!!!!
I just found post-rock and I'm loving it, the first song reminds me of someone finding the ruins of the Roman empire and walking around the desolate streets, just imagine that feeling.

Halo infinite has post rock!!!!! Fuck yeah
Perfect for a rainy new years eve. Thank you WHPR!
Good picks. Been listening to this genre since 2005 with no end in sight.
Saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame. Started with Explosions In The Sky and Mogwai, and here I am.
can you recommend me some good post rock?
@@canaras9512 silver mt zion and gy!be are the best.
@@canaras9512 Man. I'm late to this and I really hope you see it. If you're new to the genre then I'd search that on UA-cam. People have put together all kinds of playlists for people to get introduced to posty. That being said, I think there are some really good places to start:
1. This Will Destroy You (earlier stuff - graduate up to the new stuff which is genius)
2. Caspian (kinda radio friendly post-rock. the stuff you'd hear on a car commercial)
3. Mono (epic)
4. yndi halda (some really cool use of the violin)
5. this patch of sky (perfection)
6. R A N G E S (love these boys)
@@saxon6749 i saw u, i've made myself a huge post rock playlist 6 hours long since then and i have "this will destroy you" in my playlist. Thanks for the recommends, i will listen to them and i'm sure i will like them

I can't be the only one who feels like I'm a main individual in a movie who just realized a sad yet beautiful truth.
This is a good list. the 2nd song caught me off guard. it's good.
have a nice day everyone
I can't figure out what emotions these make me feel, but I love feeling this way!!
We should call it "Best post rock songs to cry for your ex".
Yep, works well. And very good songs btw.
This is a beautiful set of music. I would like to see it developed to ten hours or a bit more for sleep. It is not entirely smooth, but it rivals much of the ambient. The songs gathered in this mix are very well done. Thank you for making life better. God bless you.
Post-rock is indeed the best genre out there.
Thanks for all the work you do putting together these amazing playlists!
Mogwai going #1 on UK charts = hope for the future.
Sadness - Hope You Never Forget is incedible!!!!
Thanks a lot for including Ce qui nous consume ne s’éteindra jamais. I really appreciate. Have a rocking 2021 and keep up the good work. 🤘🎸🖤

This is amazing! Thanks for sharing!!
Six days of calm !! 🤗🤗🤗

Imagine if poop-rock existed, a genre that makes you feel as joyful and relaxed as when you're pooping.
Oh no... XD
Nothing beats post rock. Nothing.
Post rock always seems to give me a sort of strength.. There's beauty in sound I guess.
cant stop crying
Absolutely Stunning.
World can haz postrock burger? Yes! Because of this wonderful channel.

This is great. Thank you.
Llevo escuchando esta recopilación desde el 2021, y pues me ayuda mucho relajándome, más la primera canción que reproduce, me ayuda a estar tranquilo ya qué hay veces que uno necesita estar solo por tantos problemas.
this music is like an island of flowers
You were a part of my Ascension too 😀❤️
impressive work now when i think about after relistening it 10 times. Most of this names are pretty fkn unknown but you found them, unite and shed a little light. Which is good
I fucking love the Caspian song which is the fourth song in this. I'd never heard it before listening to this and ive had it on repeat for days.

I love you guys
Hands down Madden-Julian is the best track of this year. Change my mind.
Sadness - Hope you never forget and also the abyss inside us - lullaby 3:26
lullaby!!!
“It’s not rock it’s POST rock” if u gwt this i genually love u
Does post rock make me feel happy or hopeful? I can never tell...
don't know who you are but thank you
GOD BLESS YOU
It’s 2 hours and 47 minutes long, which means it’s the top 3 post rock songs of 2020
No mention of this year's crippled black phoenix album. I guess it didn't qualify as post rock.
Boa pra quem veio pelo flow
Post some ALCEST, they're pretty popular & aren't really classified as Post rock but their music has these Post rock elements specially the album Shelter.
listen to that now! illl let you know what i think since you asked me specifically

"the abyss inside us" sounds more like melodic doom metal than post rock 😂
goddamn is it good though 😂
reminds me of "saturnus, Veronica decides to die" album, or "clouds, doliu" album.
no yes no no

Why isn't there more actual singing in this cool genre? It's like technology has allowed a new generation of instrumentalists to release really good music to the masses but still the age-old thing of writing a (vocal) song is where the genius lays, alluding many...
No, lyrics don't always work. In this case, post rock, I think the melody speaks for itself. I do know post rocks songs with wonderful lyrics
Instruments speak where words fail, those things you feel but don't have words for on any language in the world can be told only by music ;)
@@poltergeist.7 hmm, no I think it still comes down to the fact that writing a great vocal melody is a rare gift.
@@wodenoftheangles3339 writing a great vocal and writing a great instrumental both need talent. Look how Hans Zimmer composes great music, or Mozart and others. It doesn't matter if there's words or not, it's more about the feeling it conveys
That Sadness song gave me so much sadness I had to skip it. Really.
