Samsung trying to force their services and apps on users is the main reason I don't know that I'll buy another one of their phones when I'm done with my Note 9. Their skin is good now and I'm not a pure Android guy, but stop trying to compete with Google in ways that don't make sense.
I agree with this, fortunately, there are ways to pretty much permanently remove these services and apps. Using ADB commands. I pretty much completely nuked Bixby and anything related to it out of existence in my Note20 Ultra, amongst other things and apps I don't see needing. I freed up a whole GB of idle memory usage, around 4GB in storage(not that's an issue or anything, but still), but most importantly it slightly improved battery and generally feels cleaner. And there is no need to root. I would suggest to anyone who is tech savy enough to do so.
Because it's obvious that samsung wanted to head in a direction w/o google. They made their own os before(for phones), it just didn't work. Even their watches has samsung OS(Tizen). It might take years but it seems like samsung is making efforts on improving their apps tho they are not there yet. They want people to get used to them so they are really forcing it, which can be annoying. Most smartphone brands have their own app store and are doing their best to get more apps in them. It's kind of like a safe guard. Just look what happened to huaweii.
One of the reasons I choose the note year after year is the eco system. I love premium products even if I don't always use all the functions. That's what Samsung is doing better than all the other Android manufacturers.
It's a tough year for phone advancements. I have a Note 10 plus and have upgraded my Note each year. I'm not certain however if I will this year or not. The feature upgrades seem incremental while the price upgrade seems significant. In some ways it sounds like an S20 Ultra might be the superior device.
I love my note20 ultra! I got a crazy deal on it that made sense to pull the trigger. Trade in plus $$ and I got the $150.00 credit to get some over the ear AKG headphones 🎧. I'm happy
I just upgraded to the Note 20 Ultra. My previous phone was the Note 8. Going from the 8 to the 20 Ultra has been amazing. The stuff this phone can do when compared to its older brethren made it a no brainer to upgrade. I have been a Note owner since the OG Note and I have been accustomed to having my S-Pen, so I cannot imagine life without one. As long as Samsung continues to make the Note series and doesn't have another Note 7 blunder, the Note series will be my phone of choice.
I upgraded from the Note 10+ 512gb and love my new Note 20 plus 512 gb model. I'm a note user from way back and absolutely love the functionality. Long live the Note. I hope they don't canabalize it with the s21, this coming yr..
Only a 25% more efficient and faster processor with 5g a part of the SoC. Then you will look at the Note 20U as a very expensive brick with a nice camera.
the note 20 ultra is like having a top of the range sports car. great performance, small fuel tank and more buttons and gadgets than you can shake a stick at. and no other phone grabs more attention when you whip this beast out of your pocket especially the mystic bronze....
Watching this on my Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra Snapdragon version! It is amazing. Plays games like no other phone. No lag and it doesn't heat up. Played Call Of Duty Mobile at Max graphics settings and max Frame rate. It is AMAZING!!!!
This all is fine and dandy as long as you get the version that sports the Snapdragon chipset. Alot of us are stuck with the budget version using the Exynos. That combined with no heat pipe or other heat sink in the phone makes it a way worse buy, and not even close to value for that price.
@@MM_MAXQ Yeah, the Exynos phone is worse. Although you shouldn't completely count it out. The Exynos processor variant seems to have the copper vapour chamber system (check out JerryRigEverything's latest video). I have the note 20 ultra with Exynos. Its okay, but I would only consider it if you can get it for a discount. (which I did when purchasing from the education store)
@@BlixBCR I have Note 10+ exynos. Did geekbench test after seeing Jerryrigeverything video. Mine came at 833 single core and 2350 multi core. So almost as Note 20 ultra (exynos). Ofc these chipsets in day to day use of scroling phone and watching video is enough and i wouldnt tell the difference between exynos and snapdragon. Until we come to camera quality and battery life. On which the fellow snapdragon would have 20 percent battery left when exynos version would power down. I have a theory. Snapdragon unit could reduce battery size, bring back the headphone jack for the space it saved. And, i guess, the battery life would be the same as exynos without headphone jack. :-) that's the real steal of different chipsets
I hope Samsung will redo their category again... streamline them regular S21 (no curve display) S21 Plus (ultra specs) S21 Note (ultra specs with S-pen) and throw out the rest...
This is going to be a bit hard, coz they release the note series by mid August and by that time the plus version of the regular Snapdragon gets released. So basically if they release 3 phones on January then we will miss the PLUS version of the Snapdragon chip. It's not a huge deal to a lot of people but when you spending 1000 for a phone you definitely want the latest one right? But it will be the best with the release of Exynos+ AMD GPU . Those chips are gonna outperform Snapdragon. But I like your idea tho, all these lineups are so confusing.
To the innovators, hardware engineers and others at Samsung, Apple and other smartphone manufacturers please do not be discouraged with the absurdity of some of these reviews of your products. We consumers understand that there are tradeoffs that are made in design and manufacturing of the products/devices that we purchase. The size of the camera module relative to the quality of the cameras performance and targeted price is one example. Keep innovating. Keep pushing the technology forward. As for me, I'll ✂️ out a piece of cardboard box 📦 and insert it underneath my phone to counter balance it for now.
Nice device. I just don't need it and wouldn't write on this thing actually. The screen is just too small. I use the Tab S7 5G or the Surface Pro for writing on the screen as the screen is huge on those. Also, I have the LG V60 for the 8K video recording features but just can't use it though since there's no available technology to the masses like myself to deal with doing 8K video edits. The LG V60 allows me to shoot 4K60 at high bitrates and I can control that.
Watching on my note 9. Would've loved to upgrade to note 20 ultra but living in Europe we only get the exynos version unfortunately I was so worried as well with the battery life of it. Even with an upgrade with Vodafone its still costly to have it 😩 probably just wait for black Friday. They might drop the price or may e wait for note 21 ultra 😂
I've had it for almost 2 weeks and I'm enjoying it but this phone should have and could have been better. It should have come with everything and more practical features; headphone jack, heart rate monitor, better iris scanner or 3D face unlock. I would have also preferred the fingerprint reader on the power button . That's the best placement for it. Also, it should have a minimum of 5500mah battery capacity, period not even 5000mah. A good phone but when I look at it next to my Note 9 it doesn't feel as complete and the real beast it should be in 2020.

Does the camera make "clicking" noise when moved suddenly? Not thr rattling noise but its mechanical clicking noise like when switching from photo to video mode.
Upgraded from my note 9 and its unreal how good the note 20 ultra is. Installed the white dome screen protector and Samsung leather case and its the best combo of protection and keeping the phone thin.
Just upgraded to this from the galaxy s8+. Had a hard time picking between this and the s20 ultra. Liking the note so far. Amazing for music. It gets pretty loud when you move the db up and turn on the Dolby atmos.
Ok I've had a galaxy for years and loved it. This is my first note and I hate to disagree with such a great video but the Spen has changed my personal interface in a way I never expected. I LOVE the Spen. Using my index feels like driving a car with no power steering. I'm never looking back. I've had the ultra for a solid week and the muscle memory is really starting to dial in with my Spen. Not a tech guy just a dude with a new expensive phone.
In October of 2019 I switched from my Note 9 to an Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max 512gb. I have to say I do love the 11Pro Max, feels great in the hand, it has a nice form factor and great battery life. The camera system is fantastic. But, iOS is awful. I'm switching back to Samsung, ordered my Note 20 yesterday!
you gonna regret that , battery life u had on 11 pro max was way better , i switched to this fone from 11 pro max and im having a hard time cuz im used to 11 pro max battery life now / update - turned on mid power save mode and went for 60 hz now the battery life is perfect for me , all good 😎
Traded in my note 10+ and did a trade in for the note 20 ultra unlocked 🤟🏼 if you did the Samsung trade in pre order I got $200 extra in credit and picked up the buds live and a case! The 120HZ is my favorite upgrade by far.
I have the Exynos variant and have a horrible idle battery drain issue... 20% drained in 6-7 hours of idle time even with the power save mode enabled... 😬😕
Preordered it and had to return it due to warning camera failed error. Tried everything that support recommended nothing worked . I wrote it off as a bad device and returned it. Then went to the local Best Buy and picked up an unlocked one and traded in my note 10 plus. After 10 days I think I am regretting it. A lot of my use is for office work. Webex zoom microsoft teams and Google meet. Everyone one of those tools has issues with the speakerphone and mics. Whenever I try to use the device with speakerphone all my coworkers complain of hearing echoes when unmuted. This goes away with any bluetooth accessory which tells me it's an issues with the mics . I tried looking it up and it appears from Samsung forums this has been an issue that has plagued other Samsung devices in the past. For 1300 dollars I think that's a bummer and I did not have any of these issues in the note 10 plus. Yeah the camera is big and supposed to be a beast but when basic phone features start faltering it tells me it's a potential hardware issue and maybe they rushed it. Also the speakers don't sound as well balanced as previous notes. I find the bottom speaker louder when turned in landscape mode. I think it's going back wish I hadn't traded in my note 10 plus but whatever.
I'm using the galaxy note 20 (yes, the regular one) and I couldn't be happier with it. For all the flak it's getting, it really is still an amazing phone. I'm using this in a case anyways, but the plastic back honestly feels pretty good. No regrets here! Not everyone can shell out a $1300 for the ultra, and the 20 is otherwise perfect.
Good evening sir, we have the exynos version hope you can help us and other region who has these crap chips and let samsung know to start using snapdragon global thanks sir more power!
Does the Note 20 Ultra 5G US version support the Esim system in addition to the regular chip? And if the Esim system is supported, is there a way or update to add this system, and does the American version of the device work in the Gulf countries ?? Please answer and thank you
My biggest gripe about this phone are the rolled edges. I feel like it packs in the width of the phone when holding it in portrait mode. It does make you feel like you are holding a candy bar like a Nestlé crunch bar. I don't have XL large hands but I don't find the size of this phone a problem. I believe it is the perfect size. Its surprisingly light. The biggest challenges I have had are finding the best way to back up my phone, like I had on Iphone. What services do you guys recommend for keeping the Note 20 ultra backed up???
I just upgraded from the pixel 4xl and I do enjoy that screen and the body (minus the camera hump) is sexy. I'm disappointed with the camera though. I really don't think it's possible to leave Pixel and switch to another phone and not compare the cameras. I just wish the note 20 ultra had the same cameras as the note 10 plus. No hump and better quality. Also, i don't know if anyone else is experiencing this but my phone has just straight up gone haywire a few times. It completely froze quite a few times and I don't know why.
@@ashishsahani3995 it had plenty of issues . Nothing a good whack on a counter wouldn't fix . But then , hurricane Laura made us lose electricity . So out came the generator, and this i charged my note into the grave , 😆.
Had the money for the ultra, got a deal on the regular 20 and copped it. I've had all the gimmicks. 120hz display, 12 gb of RAM is always nice. That camera, wasn't for me, just give me more storage and more battery life. I found myself going back to 1080p from 4k just to save on battery anyway. 4k is cool, but hell I still game on a 1080 144hz monitor and have a 4k tv that's capable of 120hz. It's all cool until you've had them then it's like ehhh. 🤣 I think most people get the latest and greatest just to say they have it. And that's cool, but I do kinda don't like when these top reviewers only pay attention to one when there are different versions
Love my ultra but the battery doesn't last very long and I don't notice any higher brightness nits. Great phone design though. Don't notice the headphone jack missing since I haven't used one in over a year. The spen lag improvement is immediately noticeable. I upgraded from the note 9 so it was worth it for me.
Watching on the Note 20 Ultra... I honestly don't care what anyone says but this is finally the definitive Note phone and I've been using almost every Note since the Note 4. IMO, it is worth an upgrade even from the Note 10+! The camera alone is incredible and how I know is I have an Apple fanboy friend who loves to hate on anything but iPhones and he even agrees that this is the best camera he's seen on a phone and he's a photographer. The only issue is how Android/Google likes to degrade the pics when you want to post em on stuff unless you use Google Drive to do things. So that paired with the incredibly smooth and amazing screen, plus the super low latency S Pen, it's so nice! I can agree it is in a class of it's own. And can't forget the frosted back glass! So much better than the gloss (get the Mystic Bronze), very classy IMO.
Hard pressed to jump on the Samsung bandwagon! Watching from my Mate 20x. I have the M-Pen, and a smart flip case, the phone is paired to a Mi band 4 and Airdots.for the past eight months everything has worked famously. I've been very pleased with my two-year-old flagship... I keep thinking I may need to upgrade because of the ban, but I have yet to get as excited about any new releases, other than the Z-fold. And I would kill that phone in a week. The wife has a Note 10 plus and I think my cameras and features keep up very well. Not too many UA-camrs are doing comparisons to two year old flagships, but if you notice in the comments there are always people with two-year-old flagships thinking about upgrading so maybe there's a sweet spot for comparison being overlooked.
Firstly i want to buy s21ultra but i love s-pen and the sharp edge note 20 ultra. So i decided to buy note 20 ultra even though it was last year snapdragon 865+ chipset. I live in asia so only have exynos option but i decided to import a SD865+ version directly from hongkong and never regret to pick note 20 ultra despite s21 ultra is much powerful
At 3:29 there's calendar info displayed on home screen underneath clock. It doesn't look like a widget . How do i get that? Is it a Samsung only feature? I have a pixel 3
Thanks Jamie, but did you overlook the new Dex implementation ??? In have tried it on my Samsung TV, simply amazing to be able to sit down and with no plug ins just have the a 4k TV Interface. I have planned a group trip on Google maps using this system, great to be able to do this with an audience who can all see & comment!
I noticed that you didn't speak about DeX when you mentioned the implementation of Windows via the Your Phone app. While I can't really say anything about using Your Phone on Windows since I never bothered to try it. I do use DeX all the time, specifically when I have to use any of the Microsoft Office applications. Which is such an annoyance when even attempting to create a document without a keyboard and trackpad/mouse. So being able to have my phones interference on a desktop or laptop with the implementation of DeX makes it an overall better experience. Its also even more convenient now since Samsung made DeX wireless. And now that I think about it, I guess it's time for me to finally pull the trigger and pre-order the NexDock Touch to go along with my Note 20 Ultra.
That is the one thing about Samsung phones are those apps that try to do the same thing all ready done by Google. I like the hardware but the software side just makes me not approach their phones.

PS: this will be my 1st modern note after I switched to S series from note 3 back in the days
Parth bruh 🙋🏻♂️ . plsss tell me exynos screen on time & these smartphone heat note 20 ultra .. tell me plss if have some time i m also live in india
Samsung trying to force their services and apps on users is the main reason I don't know that I'll buy another one of their phones when I'm done with my Note 9. Their skin is good now and I'm not a pure Android guy, but stop trying to compete with Google in ways that don't make sense.
I think it's not a problem:
-Long press on the app
-disable
Done!
I disabled all double stocks samsung apps
@@MasterWilliam82 Yeah.
One of the reasons I choose the note year after year is the eco system. I love premium products even if I don't always use all the functions. That's what Samsung is doing better than all the other Android manufacturers.
You work for samsung huh?
@@chaboi7 I actually do not work for Samsung. I guess based on my post you could assume I did. lo

I'm happy
Where did you get this deal?
Yes, please share where you got this deal so I can get it too! Lol
Samsung has industry leading trade in deals that blow the competition, have to give it to them.
I got 200 samsung credits and 550 trade in and your right its a great trade with that 120 gh
I received my deal though AT&T. They gave me $1000 for trading in old phone. Plus I qualified for samsungs $150 credit
Great review! I love my note 20 ultra, IMHO, best phone out right now and Samsung let me trade in my S10, so the phone was only 800 plus tax
Same me!! Switching from Iphone and After 1month using Note20U ... no regret. 😍😍
Love my note 20 ultra. Can't wait for my buds live, galaxy watch 3, and tab S7 plus to come in! 👍
Choke on that apple fan boy's! 😂🤣🤪
Got the buds live with the $150 credit for pre-ordering
Agreed on the Note 20 Ultra! And you just might love the Galaxy Watch 3 and Buds Live, very much worth it! And one day I'd love to grab the Tab S7+!
@@DerpyDude777 yeah the ecosystem is getting there..my set up is note 20 ultra, tab S4, gear S3 frontier, and buds live...
As I live in Europe we get the Exynos SoC (for ALL Samsung phones), so holding on to my iPhone for the time being 😉
@eric narvaez what has it got to do with apple fan boys. Smh

But my wallet says otherwise....
The Note 10+ is the phone that finally got me to switch from the iPhone. Then upgraded to Note 20 ultra and can't be happier. Love this phone
I just bought the note 20 ultra yesterday 😍😍😍
the note 20 ultra is like having a top of the range sports car. great performance, small fuel tank and more buttons and gadgets than you can shake a stick at. and no other phone grabs more attention when you whip this beast out of your pocket especially the mystic bronze....
Congrats to the winner of this giveaway
Watching this on my Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra Snapdragon version! It is amazing. Plays games like no other phone. No lag and it doesn't heat up. Played Call Of Duty Mobile at Max graphics settings and max Frame rate. It is AMAZING!!!!
This all is fine and dandy as long as you get the version that sports the Snapdragon chipset.
Alot of us are stuck with the budget version using the Exynos. That combined with no heat pipe or other heat sink in the phone makes it a way worse buy, and not even close to value for that price.
Yep.
I hope Samsung will redo their category again... streamline them
regular S21 (no curve display)
S21 Plus (ultra specs)
S21 Note (ultra specs with S-pen)
and throw out the rest...
Spot on 🔥👌
This is going to be a bit hard, coz they release the note series by mid August and by that time the plus version of the regular Snapdragon gets released.
I’m really surprised at the flat display on the S20 Note and the curved display on the S20 Note Ultra😲!
Welcome back to the country Jaime
Paid less then $1k for 512gb black model with Note 9 trade in getting $550 and $200 credit for buds+, can't beat that deal IMO
Wow that is a good deal. On the Samsung store?
@@Pocketnow Yup, in the words of the The Godfather they made me an offer I couldn't refuse lol
Still loving my note 10+. Maybe next years note might make me upgrade
Yes you are right.. my galaxy note 20 ultra battery is horrible .. ive had every note since the beginning and this battery is probably the worst . Hopefully a update can fix this little bug
@@roys.3474 Yes, it's ridiculous. I've made a video about it and I'm preparing my final thoughts about it compared to Note 9. I was thinking of returning it but I will keep it for now. I might sell it later on.
Bought this yesterday - first Samsung phone - love it! Coming from a OP6T which I also have loved using. But this is just fun ;=)
Hey Jaime Compa. Thanks for the portadas de Honduras. The clips from the beach. Wow. I miss it, wish I could go back. La sopa de mariscos y coco, looks great too.
The Note 20 ultra looks amazing in 4K.
Coming from a Note 2 and a Galaxy Tab 10.1 2014 Edition. The Stylus is certainly more refined, faster and Smooth.

I found the s20 ultra heavier and bulkier in the hand. It almost felt a bit more premium than the Note ultra
I recently made the move. I'm having a tough time committing. I am enjoying it so far.
@Brian S
Why the Note? You didn't miss the spen - as stated in the video the Note is unique and lots of choice if you don't need that feature.
you gonna regret that , battery life u had on 11 pro max was way better , i switched to this fone from 11 pro max and im having a hard time cuz im used to 11 pro max battery life now / update - turned on mid power save mode and went for 60 hz now the battery life is perfect for me , all good 😎
I’ve had the XS max for 14 months and the Battery life is at 88%. I barely make it to 1600-1800.
Gayan Abeysinghe how long have you had the 11PM? If at least 12 months, what is your battery life health at?
Traded in my note 10+ and did a trade in for the note 20 ultra unlocked 🤟🏼 if you did the Samsung trade in pre order I got $200 extra in credit and picked up the buds live and a case! The 120HZ is my favorite upgrade by far.
Wacom is my fav pen tablet, it's simply best.
With their pen i'd like to try new Samsung product
Someone should do a compilation of everytime he says his name

I'm using the galaxy note 20 (yes, the regular one) and I couldn't be happier with it. For all the flak it's getting, it really is still an amazing phone. I'm using this in a case anyways, but the plastic back honestly feels pretty good. No regrets here! Not everyone can shell out a $1300 for the ultra, and the 20 is otherwise perfect.
Ugh, this damn Note 20 Ultra back-order. Been waiting 2 weeks & i'm getting antsy. Looks amazing!

Two years and no one gives an answer?
@@soniag4516 right?!!! I settled on Google drive and Microsoft onedrive
I'd much rather see Samsung make the phone thicker and add a bigger battery to increase endurance and remove the camera bump.
As a current Note 9 user, I wouldn't mind upgrading. But that camera hump is a deal breaker.

"I'm jghdfgkdwhfhwf welcome to Pocketnow" Gets me everytime! Great review

The coolest use ive found for 50x zoom is getting pictures of the moon with decent detail that not even my dslr van get.

Nope.. Samsung just didn't send a TV to test it 😉
@@Pocketnow Ah well, there is an idea for a future video ;)
Does note 20 has a small cutout at the edge of the hump and back next to that zoom lense?
Man, Jaime does it much better than Josh. Josh has lost his touch since the AA days.
I don't even watch his reviews or videos

I must admit, I do prefer Jaimes content.

I'm a huge fan of Josh, but I agree. He's definitely lost the touch he used to have while he was at AA.
That is the one thing about Samsung phones are those apps that try to do the same thing all ready done by Google. I like the hardware but the software side just makes me not approach their phones.
