when i saw them pre-reunion era, they played a decent roster of deris era songs, i forgot if they played this or not. but this is the one song they should play from anything they released in the 2000's

I'm a fan of Helloween since the EP days, and I think this is one of THE best albums they've ever made. And the Dark Ride is a truly amazing song. Def a candidate for my top ten metal songs. Real shame we don't get to hear it live.
I remember Michael saying in some interview that the dark ride time was awful for the band. It seems like they were going through some issues specially between Michael and Roland. And here it is, the consequences, a masterpiece played like shit by the guitar department. I know this album wasn't good at sales, but surely it can be appreciate today because is probably one of the most solid metal these guys have done. This song and the rest of the album (besides if I could fly) deserve to be brought back live with the current line up. This guy today are real professionals and they are quality when live. Anyway it's time to stop playing Dr. Stein and I want out and explore their fantastic discography to play live
The album was not bad sales, was sold lot, especially in the United States. The biggest problem was the discussion between Deris, Weikath and Grapow. So the album has not been used by the band as it should and that's a sadness.
Andi Deris é o cara! Adoro o jeito dele cantar e interagir com o público, sempre simpático, dono de um carisma natural e peculiar. Pena que essa ótima formação deixou de existir logo depois, a música da banda perdeu qualidade em minha opinião, mas ainda assim não perdeu relevância, e muito disso se deve às otimas composições assinadas pelo Deris.

damn Andi's voice is impecable on this one!!!!! I wish there was a documentary on how they recorded this album, it is very much unique, the sound is so DARK (no pun intended)!!! totally love it, brings me back in time when I used to listen to this with my cousins back in 2003
I have never been the greatest fan of The Dark Ride album, but I'm always floored by the musicianship of this era and especially this song. Truly an underrated era of the bad. As much as I adore the reunion, and I very much do, I love the era of Uli and Roland. It was cool stuff. I wouldn't mind some shows with Roland and Uli, or at least more material from that era.
Uli kusch is the best drummer in the world, my biggest musical influence, after Ingo he is helloween's real drummer, I miss him and Roland in the band, forever Uli

Segun una reciente entrevista de Andy menciona que la salide Roland fue porque se gasto dinero de Helloween sin decirle a nadie. Supongo que les parece suficiente razon para no tenerlos de vuelta en la reunion

Awesome performance but I absolutely hated the ending. Why the fuck did the rest of the band need to start playing for three seconds when the audience and Andi had such a beautiful outro. Unbelivable.... Anyway, I love this band but that's some shit I don't understand
such a shame that such a good song has almost to none live performances on youtube and no performances at all on their tours and the only video we find is this where all the members seem like an amateur cover band. The guitars are an atrocity in this concert, drummer out of tempo, Deris sounding like shit. Pity
