    Do you love Mexican food but can't digest the beans? I do but really try to avoid Mexican restaurants for this reason .. they're not in the habit of soaking their beans before cooking them! After a meal at a Mexican restaurant, I will typically feel very bloated. Eating the same meal prepared at home where I soaked the beans properly before cooking results in no digestive upset whatsoever.

    Can you explain why the shape of the bean makes a difference. That is the first time I have ever heard that so I am very curious.

    I always dump some acv in with the swing beans, but I usually just added the baking soda during the cooking time. It's a bit of a science experiment, haha.

    I've been eating Paleo and Keto so long I fear I would blow up if I tried beans. I really used to love them. Maybe I'll give them a try. Thanks!

    Interesting! I have never used ACV in my beans, when soaking. I have always soaked my beans but about 2 years ago, I started soaking them for 2 days,changing the water 1 to 2 x per day.. and the first soaking was in hot water... and I digest them 100%.. but now, I am going to do as you suggest and will let you know how it works! Love your videos and articles by the way.... :))

    Can you explain why you use apple cider vinegar, or baking soda? What does that do? Thanks!!

  • @neuralengine965
    @neuralengine965 4 роки тому +1

    Why shape matters? We should always use something acidic like vinegar or lemon juice because ground is slightly acidic and beans, nuts and grains think they should sprout and that process neutralizes antinutrients - because plants don't need protection anymore.

    So appreciate your healthier living knowledge. I cannot do vinegar or anything fermented, etc. ... is it workable in this situation to sub lemon juice? If so, does it need to be fresh? Thanks!

    Why is that? Why apple cider vinegar for regular beans and baking soda for kidney shaped beans?

    Pinch? Is that like a 1/4 tsp, per cup of beans?

    Just curious what is the reason for using baking soda instead of acv for kidney shaped beans? Is the action different because of it being alkaline rather than acid?
