I got mine at a charity auction and got it sorted to a "start a print and walk away" state. It ain't an input shaping star, but is a reliable tortoise. Thank you for keeping it alive :-)

Ive just built and setup an H175 tool head for a friend, prefer using e3d myself due to the ready availabily of parts

I've really enjoyed the Bondtech & Slice products over E3D. I just haven't seen much innovation from them since their brilliant co-founder, Sanjay, passed away.

I don’t know if you can put an M175 & Universal Adapter on the 5. Might want to check the LulzBot forum or Reddit

What are your thoughts on the Ultimaker S7? There's scant actual real person reviews of this machine because well, it's not a real person machine. But from what I have seen, the print quality is interstellar - albeit a bit slow.

Hi, thanks for asking! In my day job role, I bought 7 Ultimaker S5s. They are amazing machines and if you are looking for something that just does amazing prints just about every time, the Ultimaker folks make an amazing machine. Fixing them isn't too tough, with amazing support from Ultimaker and vendors like Fbrc8. The S7 combines the material feed system and air filtration system all together. They also improved the bed probing system and a better bed surface. (My S5's are using Wham Bam Bed Systems) My only complaint is when you look at the S7, there's a lot of space up top that I was really hoping they would utilize for more print volume. But that's my only grief. The Ultimakers are great 3D printers and of course, with their Cura slicer and many built in profiles, they are really great print farm machines. Yes, it doesn't use the zippy new motion systems like the Bambu Labs or Vorons, but I really haven't heard many stories of people using many of those for higher end roles. I'd love to get my hands on one! Also, the newest model, the Factor 4, is very impressive too. Erin at FBRC8 just received one and I've been waiting to see what she posts on UA-cam and Instagram

@torquemada1971 we have got a lot of experience with the UltiMaker S7 (and the rest of the UltiMaker fleet). I would say the S7 brings a lot of reliability and repeatability to the table, while keeping the filament system open and flexible--trusted profiles you can download, but not being locked in to Ultimaker branded filament. Relative to the S5, there's are some changes on the S7, including the PEI flex plates, and switching from capacitive to inductive leveling, and the overall taller/heavier machine so that it can be fully enclosed. As Paul mentioned, we just got our Factor 4 demo unit last week and we're putting it through its paces and posting updates to our UA-cam and Instagram channels.
