@@BreeTRocks I picked up the guitar when Covid hit. I’ve been playing a little over year. Do you have any tips to give to get better at playing? I can’t afford guitar lessons cause people are charging too much.
Of course! Exhaust all of your free options before you start to invest into lessons if they're too expensive. There's a plethora of videos on YT on how to get better at guitar, some might be better than others but find the ones that you click with and stick to them until you've squeezed out every bit of knowledge you can from it. Learn songs you like once you can get around chord progressions smoothly, try and study your favorite bands and players. And this little nugget of wisdom comes from my guitar teacher and I know it from experience..just play every day. Even if it's 5 or 10 minutes, just getting your hands on the instrument every day will help get your chops in shape. I'm a big fan of the 1% every day mentality- just thinking "How can I improve by 1% today?" and then before you know it, that daily 1% will take you really far.
I learned it by a combination of my ear, videos of the band performing the song and lesson videos, tabs, and my guitar teacher, Joel Hoekstra, taught me one of the riffs in the song!
Good job.
