Been looking forward to your take on the Velociti Elite, so I really appreciate the review. You got me on board the Flow Velociti 2, and now it looks like I'll be hopping aboard the Velociti Elite train too. Besides, it looks crazy gorgeous!
Nice review Edd. Intrigued by this shoe. On a side note, it's incredible - and rather tragic - that people take time out of their day to write personal and unsolicited criticism of you and your ace channel. Like the mighty Modest Mouse say, Float On Edd!
Great review Edd! I have this shoe, too, and agree with everything you said. Thanks for covering the outsole as you did. I had similar concerns as other people, but so far I find the durability and grip is quite good. It's nice to hear someone with your experience thinking similarly. I'm not a marathoner yet, though I'm planning on using this as a 10k racer with a HM in the fall. So far the fit is exceptional on my 2E size midfoot and it really comes into its own at faster efforts. Cheers, Bud!
I had several pairs of UA shoes and i fairly enjoyed them. I had some Charged Bandits which are cheap and reliable daily trainers like a FF from Reebok and the Sonic 2 that was a fantastic daily shoe for longer efforts in the 15-20km range.
I have picked up a couple of UA Infinite 3's discounted for US $60.00 and have no regrets so far. But for me they are not any better or a lot worse than Triumph 19's or Puma Magnify's at similar discounts, but closer to$70. None of which feel particularly light or agile, but are all well cushioned and comfy. The Infinite 4's seem lighter, and a bit thinner cushion-wise in the forefoot, but maybe they require a break in period.
I must say, I have always like that sort of lattice effect that the Flow Velociti Wind had and so it's nice to see that they're continuing that look - is very dandy. Makes me think of a treacle tart and that's no bad thing. More shoes that remind you of food is needed, even though they will never match the zenith of when the RC Elite v2 came out in that purple Quality Street colourway 😂
Nice review Edd..UA always has good quality stuff..I haven't tried their shoes cos so far they have been too stiff and slappy but their compression shirts and tights are the best I've used for racing in the rain, especially a cold, windy rain..I much prefer racing in the rain as opposed to racing in the heat..my favorite is a mild, warm rain..guess I too never grew out of playing in the rain😊😊
Picked up a pair of the Adios Pro v1 for under £30 from TKMAXX, Chateaunerf du Pape! 🍾 0.5 size up on my usual Adidas size, but couldn't resist. Used the Zoom Fly Flyknit yesterday for some fast 400s, beautiful shoe 😍
Great review! Does make me want to pick it up for a workout shoe. But with it being a super shoe with that pricing it's out of reach for now. Your HR was super low for MP!! It was me who commented on Strava. 😁 Keep up the good work and hard training!👍👍
Edd ,nice job on the videos. Love the reviews and your wit and repartee. I picked up a pair of these in the Boxing Day sales today for a bargin, $124 Aus Earth Credits, £66. A steal I thought. Looking forward to testing them.out when they arrive. Edd remember, "Run for form and don't die with the music in you" that's what my mate and coach says. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Edd.
Thanks for the great review, Edd! Been waiting for this one! Big fan of the regular Velociti Wind and these are really interesting! May have to pick them up!
One story that was circling around (courtesy of WearTesters) when the Curry 8 was released was UA developed Flow for running all along. Supposedly, Curry tested it and asked UA to use it in his next signature model. He seems to like it a lot since it's been used in the Curry 9 and 10 as well.
@@EDDBUD Edd just thinking there must be times when after purchasing a pair of running shoes to review you end up with a pair from the manufactures , so in affect have two pairs , and it all costs a considerable amount of money to purchase the pairs in the first instance , have you ever thought of selling on your first pair size 11 (same size as me actually ) to retrieve some of the initial outlay , especially when originally owned by EDD Bud , just a thought more of a checky suggestion really , thanks again EDD
Breathability without holes is big in my book. Nike likes to make these holes (VF3, atom knit) that collect grit as you run, which can get uncomfortable. All in all, sounds like UA has got themselves a decent shoe in the race space.
I got this at around $125 and I'm preparing for a 10K. I found this as light, fast, stable, bouncy fun, I literally feel the wind in my feet (and its summer!), not too soft is good for me (as it does not soak up momentum) and my current stats backs it up makes me a bit faster. I just use trainers before on race days now I have a race day plated shoe, definitely worth the upgrade for me and its within my budget. Edit: But i wont pick this up at full price $250 there are other better options at that price.
I considered getting this shoe before but when I saw the retail price I said 'nope'. Some people who bought this shoe either returned it or they are using it as a carbon plated trainer than a racer shoe. I think they are creating a massive problem while they are trying to solve a relatively minor problem by not using any rubber on the outsole. Sure you don't need a rubber but now you have a slob of unresponsive EVA foam just to solve the durability problem. Maybe I will give a try to this shoe if this shoe ever sees 70% discount or more and that is a big if otherwise I'm not spending any dime on this one.
Seems like it would make for a delightful daily runner, but the sticker price is a bit formidable (for me). If only I could find one in a brilliant colorway discounted by a full five fingers. 🤭
If I were a more nische or smaller running shoe brand making a super shoe, I'd make them available in 2E to catch a part of the market. I think if you can't really contend on pure performance, you'd do well to supply shoes to the masses.

If it's 43 mm stack in the heel, then it's not a legal race shoe. This needs to be pointed out.
No it’s not. It’s 40mm for the sample size. Please read the rules.
Heel stack can be over 40mm as you size up beyond the sample size shoe.
Ed’s not sample size, he’s got canoe for feet,it will be legal in the sample size which is all that matters why can’t people understand this 🙄
Why diminish Ed's feet size? They clearly warrant comparisons to 1906 Battleship Dreadnought class. Canoes? Meh. 🛥😍🥰

Maybe a good choice considering the more firm nature of the other foam in the combo. The upper is more trainer too than the rest.
