I just returned from Afghanistan, and here are my thoughts. The country is stunning, and the people are genuinely friendly and approachable. You can easily strike up a conversation with anyone, and they will often invite you to their home for tea. However, engaging with the Taliban feels like talking to a brick wall. Many of those in power are quite uneducated and struggle with English, making communication challenging. I believe the Taliban made a significant mistake by preventing women from working. The situation in the country is dire under their rule, but I feel that with women in leadership roles, Afghanistan has immense potential to become a popular tourist destination. Overall, my time in Afghanistan was incredible. I spent a couple of weeks there, and it's a trip I will always remember.
