    Hi,
I’m shopping for a possible new bow.
I shoot a PSE Evoke 35. I want something shorter and lighter. Most every other hunting bow is shorter. Carbon would be great too like your Levitate which brought me to your channel. Broadheads- I hunt Elk so I definitely want a strong sharp broadhead. I’m 73 and can only pull less than 65 lbs so want a cut on contract single bevel. I used Helix last year but bought the Iron Will this year as I know they are superior in every way except price which kept me from buying them sooner. I know if I get a carbon bow, l want light weight components so I may be following to see how that goes with you. Just one more thing, you mention deer hunting and if haven’t ever done it try Elk hunting. It’s another level of a hunt in almost every way. You won’t regret!

This year will mark my first year hunting elk in Alberta. All my previous experience has been in BC so I'm excited to see what Alberta holds!
I'm sure you'll like the Mach 34 if you're looking for that longer ATA... the Levitate still remains my favorite bow for 2 years running. I didn't shoot the Era but it doesn't quite fall into the specs I'm looking for... but the Omnia does. Shot the Omnia a few hundred times but the Omen ended up on top for me. Now I'm almost 100% back to the Levitate. So many good options these days, just gotta find the one that makes you smile.

Did I hear you right? It's wildly important that the color of your release matches your bow?

I have a CBE Trek Pro that’s not too heavy, accepts a lens, can use an ultra view scope. And I shoot Victory RIP TKOs with titanium outserts for hunting, XV’s for 3d. Wondering if you tried HIT inserts in your Axis arrows? Thoughts? Good work on the videos.

Hey Daniel, thanks! I really appreciate the feedback. I will have a look at the CBE Trek Pro again.
I have tried the HIT inserts, but I don't like it when it's not a clean transition from shaft to field point diameter. I tried the BAR system, but it's not great to pull out of targets and transitions at a bit of a harsh angle... feels and looks too much like an afterthought. So far, I'm liking the steel half-outs, though. I think you're on the right path with titanium, I'm almost positive that it'll be my new normal in 2024.

Did you every try the levitate with the S2 cam? I'm at 28.5 inch draw and bought an S2. Harsh draw curve but getting used to it

I haven't shot the S2, oddly enough. I just set up a Levitate at 27.5" with the E2 and the guy loved it though. I think your speeds with the S2 should be a touch faster but the reviews have been a bit all over the place. I've kinda steered away from the S2 just because the E2 has been received so well but I do believe you'll get used to the draw cycle before you know it. The bow is such a shooter, it's the ultimate hunting rig... and if you're already getting comfy with the S2, I'd take the speed gains all day. However, if it physically hurts to pull back, just lower the poundage and you'll end up with the same speeds or better than an alternative cam option that's an easier pull. Like the Elite Basin shoots the same speed at 70lbs as my Levitate does at 58lbs. I think I'll end up doing a video on that side of things soon.

@@TheArrowsEdge Thanks. I'm regretting not getting the E2 as I think the speed differences are minimal and the draw cycle is better. But the S2 and I are learning to like each other. Every time I shoot it I can get more arrows off. It was a b*tch of a draw at first but has improved.

sounds like you do more thinking than you do having fun out there

I try not to take anything too seriously and I keep my day-to-day pretty light... but you're probably right. I wish I could keep it simple but I do tend to dive pretty deep into my thoughts. Hopefully, that's something that's a perk to my channel for those who think a little less.

Axcel Landslyde all day long, super fast from 0 to 100 jards, metal tapes and way lighter than Eddie...

I had one on order for a long long time and ended up giving up on it. I will revisit that one! Thank you.

I had another good look over it, I think I will pick one up. There's a reason it was my #1 choice... until I couldn't get my hands on one. The Black Gold has a similar layout but lacks the metal sight tapes. Also, there's another cheap one on Amazon from Rocky Mountain or something like that but we all know... buy once, cry once 😆

@@TheArrowsEdge I really like Landslyde and i had it like 3 by now.The best about it that you can switch complete scope rod mouting and get more clereance for UW3XL

What jig are you getting 7 degree helical with…it’s literally impossible to get even 5 degrees with a helical and get the corners to lay perfectly flat. If it is a Arizona EZ that jig is only 4.5-5 degrees. Just curious because 5 degrees on a .204 shaft is the most any jig can effectively do….if it’s even that. If you buy the DCA offset gauge that shows you exactly what your vane offset is you will be amazed at how much 2.5 actually is.

    • @TheArrowsEdge
      @TheArrowsEdge  Рік тому +2

Hey Steve! I'm using the Vane Master Pro by LCA. It goes up to 5 degrees on the scale and you can position it beyond that and still get fletching contact. The vanes I'm running are 2.25" long - I would say with a 3" vane I wouldn't be able to get contact throughout the entire vane. If you check out Jake Kaminski's channel, he has a review out for the VMP and at about 9:30 into his video he shows you how to exceed the 5-degree mark. He claimed he was running 8 degrees at the olympics. I'll look into the DCA offset gauge! Thanks for the comment.

Sigma releases are garbage.. the release looks awesome but the parts used inside of it are made of paper.

After the initial upset, it has held up well. I've been using it ever since without an issue... regardless, the process could have been refined.
