I wish them both my very best. I married my fiancé in Hawaii 9/15/1970, and six days later I flew back to Vietnam. I convinced my fiancé to pass on the large wedding arguing the costs and complexity of a big wedding. In fact, I was highly skeptical that I would make it home. I wanted her to get the insurance and benefits if I was lost. Well, obviously I made it and we have been married 51 years!

I've seen way too many marriages in my years in the military as well as my husband's time in the military end in tragedy, stay strong for each other and when it gets difficult remember this day.

I can agree that love is felt from all over the world no materr the distance. I don't know these people at all but I was crying like I was a part of the family.
