What a GREAT series! I've been planning to build the Classic 12 sailing skiff for a long time, but still waiting to clear the space I need in the garage. Tonight, for the first time, I found two of your video series (Buying the wood, and ironing the skin)
, which has answered two of my first questions. Is there a list of other videos in the series? I'd like to see them all, while I'm making my preparations. Thanks for a good job, and for a great product - I'm eager to get started :-)

Hi Jim, thanks for the kind remarks! If you go to our gaboats.com page, you'll see a link on the bottom left for all of our UA-cam videos. And we're adding a couple more today!
Also, one of our builder, Joshua Richards, has posted a video about building and skinning a Classic 12 that covers a lot more detail, since most of our videos are for canoes. Sorry I don't have a link but he should be easy to find.
Feel free to reach out with questions and have a great Christmas!
      Larry

@@geodesicairoliteboats1632 WHEW! Was I glad to hear from you!!! When my last e-mail to you bounced back, and when I tried to call, only to find Betty's, Tim's and Susan's phones are disconnected, I was worried you were closing up shop before I could order my Classic 12 plans and Starter kit. The only reason I've delayed that order is that I was hoping to have my shop set up to do the build in an orderly fashion but if the Classic 12 stuff is in jeopardy, please call me so I can get my order in first (785) 224-7012 is my celphone. Thanks for the reply, Jim McCarthy - Shell Knob, MO :-)

@@jimmccarthy9991 Nope, we're fully up and running, just visiting the grandkids for Christmas right now. I bought the business from Bette in October 2017 and moved it to Georgia but we have lots of stuff in stock and can ship at your convenience. Did you find the other videos?
      Thanks!

@@geodesicairoliteboats1632 YES! Found all the others, AND located Josh Richard's video, too. Looks great, now, if I can just sell my houseboat, www.shihtzumania.com/2360-2/ I'll plow out the garage and get started. By the way, is the #9 dacron available as an option in the startup kit? Looks like that is the say to go. Thanks for the help, Larry, and enjoy those kids at Christmas - I have 5 great grandkids, myself. I'm 82 - Jim McCarthy

So how thick do the boards need to be? And does that vary per design?

Greetings from Raymond Washington. I bought a few years ago, the plans and materials for a 12' classic. I also bought the CD with Paul Monfort. The cd is really a poor effort and starts out with the form already done and it has no real value. Is there something you offer that will get me started? I'm a pretty fair carpenter but have never built a boat and do not want to ruin any material by doing something wrong. I also would like to get the newer and heavier skin material. Thanks, Brian

Hi Brian, this is Larry LaLonde, owner of Geodesic Airolite Boats. If you found this video, hopefully you found the rest of our boat building series on UA-cam. If not, they are all on the landing page for gaboats.com. When Platt did the CD, he skipped past the stuff he thought was easy and went straight to the unique things about our boats. I bought company in 2017 after building several boats and realized that gap needed to be filled and so we made the videos showing the earlier steps and some of the important stuff that was glossed over in the video. Hopefully, they will help and you can always reach out with any questions.
The heavier Dacron is available for the Classic 12 if you'd like it.
      Thanks!
      Larry

@@geodesicairoliteboats1632 The most important part of any project is the beginning. It may be easy but if you have never done it and have never seen it how could it be easy? Could you make a video of step one? What you have posted is well done but doesn't help to get going. How do you set up the stations? What's the best way to align them? Literally, what is step one? If you could show that it really is easy, I bet you could sell a whole bunch more boats.
