"When you’re not speaking you own language there’s a part of you that’s not being expressed. There’s a difficulty there, that you think that something in the structure of your own soul, that’s not coming across". Jeeeeeeeeeeeesus, woman!
"She doesn't care that all the sisters doubt her, that the most important person in her life doubt her" *meanwhile pointing right at Tatiana while saying that* xD Evelyne is just so wise and so poetic
Reminds me of wayyyyy back in season 1 when I was on UA-cam looking for cast interviews. And I was like "I wanna see the girl who plays Helena in real life....oh wait" lmao
What Evelyne said about speaking a language that is not your mother tongue is so true and important. And it kinda explains how it might have been easier for Delphine to do things that maybe she wouldn't have done in other contexts. I believe there are studies that prove that it's easier to make immoral decisions while thinking in a foreign language.
I'm deeply touched that she felt so emotional about portraying two women in love that her voice shook answering the question. Her soul is beautiful. When I'm feeling down, I try to remember these characters, their stories and these actresses (not just Orphan Black). What a great time to be alive.
Rewatching this bring me tears. :') And I can really appreciate Tatiana even more. When the the question was directed to them both- Tatiana letting Evelyne take the lead and have a voice, not interrupt her and let her answer the question fully 😍
If you think about it as a viewer as well it makes complete sense. How often do you watch a show or movie in a foreign language to you? Reading subtitles diverts your attention away from the acting. I tend to watch foreign movies multiple times to pick up on the facial expressions the 2nd time and focus on the dialog the 1st viewing. Same idea as an actor-having so much focus that perhaps something becomes missed/not organic as it perhaps would be in a native accent/language. Though I think Jodie Comer and Tatiana Maslany are wildly talented & on the same high bar level. 👏🏾
Evelyne is really a french speaker...she is french speaking canadian. In an interview ive seen, she talks about how she learned english and learned ro no have much of an "accent" when speaking english. Its pretty cool
There shouldn't have been anything to work out. Cosima had the mistaken idea that Delphine was working for her, like an employee, thus all the "without my consent" stuff, when in fact Delphine was doing what she had to do to save everyone, even after being shot and kidnapped. I really like Cosima but not the way she and everyone treated Delphine.
Damn yes!! Back then there was this weird thing about killing lesbian characters if they were happy whit their couples, the famous "happy lesbian, dead lesbian"

With all the "gay bait" or "bury your gays" happening on TV, I can't say enough how grateful I am to these writers for the Cophine relationship.

And in her second language as well!
They started talking about Donnie and Alison and I legit was like, where's Alison? She must not be there, that's weird. ...GOD Tatiana is so talented.

When fiction inspires reality to be more of what it should be then there's so much pride - What a woman. Everything about her is beautiful
Both Évelyne and Tat have contagious smiles 😃

So well spoken! She is incredible❤️
“It was only two characters who loves each other. What’s wrong with that?”
Yassss preach!
Oh wow, I hadn't thought about the language aspect that she mentioned before. That was very eye-opening!
