Being a Brazilian citizen and living all the political madness we are going through right now, it is a joy to watch this and learn a little more about such concepts . This need to be understood by more and more people everywhere in order to increase the odds of keeping democracies healthy and stable. Thanks for the lecture.
@@tangoalpha1905 agreed, none is perfect and all have a lot to improve. But possibly the worst democracy is still healthier than any authoritarian government.
@@rodrigocastrofoto - Um... no. You are just saying that because this thing you're characterizing as democracy has thus far provided you with some material wealth/prosperity. It's confirmation bias. If a vote was conducted among the poor people of your country, asking if they would like to swap their current governance model for a Nationalist Authoritarian one, like Hitler's for example, I strongly suspect they'd support the change.
Your claims about the wealth distribution in the US is very misleading. While there are these brackets, the people in them are not static. It is not the case that 50% of the people in the US are always, throughout their lives in the bottom 50%.

Democracies are not healthy & stable. Democracies are characterized by many varieties of sickness and instability. Show me one that is not.
