I just got my housing offer today for unit 3 triple this video makes me feel so much better about it and cleared up any questions I had. THANK U SARINA AND YASMEEN ❤️❤️
I’m a new admit this year and I’m looking up every dorm tour video (what a surprise 🤣) and you guys all seem so fun! I’m excited to go to Berkeley soon 🎉
*I cant imagine how my life would of been if i went to college right out high school instead of being indicted at 18 and on my way to prison... I would do anything to turn back time to of gone the right way and not the wrong way. With years wasted away and forever having a felony in my shadow makes me envious when i see things like this. I would of loved the experience of college living and just setting your life up for success and unforgettable memories. Im not sure why your video was recommend to me but i enjoyed it. Loved the vibe. Hope yall are doing well and God Bless*
Housing Ranking - Best to worst (In my opinion!) 1. Unit 1 2. Unit 2 3. Blackwell 4. Clark Kerr (Far) 5. Unit 3 6. Foothill/Stern (Too far) Unit 1 Pros: Close to campus, close to a dining hall, on a busy street with lots of food, and social :) - the suites are super nice but not as social. Cons: Although there are some newer buildings, there is always a chance that you could get placed in an older building Unit 2 Pros: Basically the same as unit 1. Social, close to campus (not as close as unit 1) and close to a dining hall Cons: Mix of new and old buildings, but not as nice as unit 1 Blackwell Pros: Super nice and clean, newest dorm on campus, and close to campus Cons: Not social and very quiet Clark Kerr Pros: Very spacious rooms (some have kitchens(I think suites), best dining hall, close to the frats, a lot of athletes/sorority/frat ppl live here. Very social Cons: Veryyy far from campus (which is why I rate it so low) Unit 3 (I lived here 😭) Pros: very close to campus, social, next to a dining hall, on one of the most popular/busiest streets on campus Cons: superrrrr old * Although it was old and gross, I made it through the year and I met some of my closest friends :) Foothill (all gender) & stern (all girls) Too far! lol General note: Suites in the Units (1,2) have bathrooms that are shared among 2-3 dorm rooms. Non suites in the units have bathrooms that are shared with the whole floor. Certain buildings have certain floors and their bathrooms dedicated to certain genders (i.e. in unit 3 we had an all girls floor). Social scale: Clark Kerr, Units … others not very social.
thank you so much for making this! i just got assigned a unit 3 triple and this was really helpful and i have like a bunch of questions lol. what was the party/social life like in unit 3? is there usually a wait for the laundry room? did you usually eat breakfast in your dorm or get food from like cafe 3? thanks!
Social life: Unit 3 is a very social dorm! The social life in Unit 3 is great, because you will make many friends on your floor/your building and there aren't any suites in the whole building. You will constantly run into people even when going to the bathroom or when you want to go study in the lounge. Many people usually host their friends in their dorm rooms, but you always have to be cautious of RAs, noise complaints, and other housing rules! Laundry room: The busiest laundry room day is always Sunday and the days leading up to a break (winter break, spring break, etc), but besides that the wait for the laundry room wasn't too bad. Most of the time I didn't have to wait for machines, unless there were broken machines and/or it was a Sunday. Cafe 3: I would say I mostly took my food to-go from Cafe 3 and would eat in my room with my roommates, but I did eat at Cafe 3 often as well. Sometimes I would meet friends at Cafe 3 and we would eat lunch together before we headed to class. With the pandemic there were moments where we weren't able to eat in the dining hall which is why we ate in our dorm often, but Cafe 3 was open for indoor dining most days out of the school year! I hope this was helpful, feel free to ask as many questions as you need! :)
@@yasmeenbaghdadi THANK YOU!!! Thanks for taking the time to write a very thorough reply :) Many girls I know are planning to rush bc “that’s how you get into parties”. Partying is not incredibly important to me but I was curious if that statement is true. Are there partying opportunities outside of greek row, if so what? Where was your favorite place to study? Very excited for all the libraries but just wondering which one you liked the best. Aaa I’m just super excited so I have a bunch of questions LMAO
Believe it or not, I'm currently organizing a 50-year Norton Hall reunion for a group of former "dormies". Back in 1974, these four units weren't called Unit 3, they were just "the dorms". We too thought of them as old since they were built in the 1960s. Thankfully, we didn't have mixed gender floors (I can't imagine how you handle communal bathrooms!) In spite of the cons, just remember that you'll make life-long friends, something that's hard to do if you live in an off-campus apartment. Now 50 years later, my friends and I still have fond memories of our freshman year in the dorm (like that day we hooked up a rope and carabiners and rappelled off the Norton Hall fire escape--our RA was not happy). Find your fun, the years will go by rapidly.
Could you please share the measurements for the lockers in the unit three bathrooms as well as hopefully it’s gone the last time I made one it was measurements for the closets in a standard triple dorm? I’m moving in next semester and I would really appreciate it💝
Hi! I'm an incoming freshman and was just assigned a Unit 3 triple. In a lot of the models of example rooms there are only 2 closets/wardrobes. Are you guys lucky with 4 or is that the norm? Is there much of a difference between the various Unit 3 halls? Any dorm advice specific to Unit 3 or just in general? Thank you for making this video, it has been the most helpful one I've found by far.
Hi! I believe most standard dorms in Unit 3 come with 3-4 closets/wardrobes, based on all of the dorms I have seen this year. I haven't seen a single dorm this semester that only had 2 closets (the example images may be outdated). All the buildings in Unit 3 are very similar except for Beverly Clearly. It is a newer building in Unit 3 and the rooms are said to be slightly bigger than the other buildings. Let me know if you have any other questions, hope this helps!!
Thanks for this video!! I really needed to see the bathrooms and the area outside the buildings. Quick question though, are the floors carpet? I'm not sure whether I need to buy a broom/swiper or a handheld vacuum or something. And also are hair dryers allowed?
Hi! Thank you so much for making this video. My daughter is scheduled to move into an RH quad in unit 3. What is the difference with the RH quad and your room? What floor are the quads on?
Typically it's first come first serve! However, some roommates may contact each other before move in, and a roommate could request the lower bunk for special reasons (i.e. disabilities, injury, etc). I hope that helps :)
My daughter got a RH quad in unit 3. How does that compare to your room? What floor would it be on (to account for the floors she would have to walk up since the elevator is out half the time)?

The closet was about 5 1/2 feet tall and about 2 feet wide! The bathroom lockers are about one foot tall and half a foot wide!

Hey I j got a Unit 3 temporary quad. Like, what even is that? Is it nice?
Would you rank unit 2 or unit 3 higher? Thanks! Great video! A lot of detail. Appreciate you.
im an incoming freshman moving into a triple in the same hall as this so this was super helpful to know what to get tysm!!
Awww yay, happy to help!!
Thanks for this video!! I really needed to see the bathrooms and the area outside the buildings. Quick question though, are the floors carpet? I'm not sure whether I need to buy a broom/swiper or a handheld vacuum or something. And also are hair dryers allowed?
All of the floors are carpet, I really recommend getting a mini vacuum if you can, because the floors get dusty and dirty frequently!
Thank you for the honest tour
Hi! Thank you so much for making this video. My daughter is scheduled to move into an RH quad in unit 3. What is the difference with the RH quad and your room? What floor are the quads on?
The quads are on the floors that have lounges. They convert the lounges into student housing. They’re way bigger than the other dorm rooms in unit 3!
Which unit would you have preferred as a 1st year Bear?
Unit 1!
Appreciate the info, 🤞🏼 my son gets that
Hello how do you pick your bed?
Typically it's first come first serve! However, some roommates may contact each other before move in, and a roommate could request the lower bunk for special reasons (i.e. disabilities, injury, etc). I hope that helps :)
How do u bring people/guys over 😭
BESTIE ON MY RECOMMENDED
OMG HI BAE
So helpful Tysm!
