That's great to know. Australia has a very limited Netflix library compared to America, so this method of Unblocking Netflix works really well down under :)
Is using a Smart DNS function from your vpn provider safe on a tv ? I mean since it isnt as safe as a vpn for the user is there a risk of getting banned ? I really want to try it out on my Samsung Smart TV as i only have other regions of netflix on my pc thanks to the vpn.

ok, so done fair bit of testing I have trialled all this on 2 different android devises, 1 windows pc, 1 MacBook tried nordvpn and clicked America as the country: Netflix works out the box, prime video did not. prime advised I was using vpn signed up for smartdnsproxy via your link. configured the dns settings, and tested. done set to US as per their faq sheet Netflix no issue. prime no longer indicating vpn in use, but still not showing US content so..... in the main Amazon app on android and Amazon website, changed to US for region tested again, prime still showing only Aus content. ran same test with nordvpn as a comparison, Prime showing vpn in use again looking online, it seems Amazon actively block vpn services. also depending on where you signed up for Amazon, Amazon will actively try to show only content from your country. as I had signed up in Aus, I'm stuck more or less with Aus content on a side note, done some other testing with various network streaming sites like BBC, tvsn etc, due testing nordvpn for significantly easier to use as didn't need to manually change dns, just tap the country n away you go -sorry for long post

I live in Canada so, we know that American Netflix has better TV Shows ( they come out sooner), but the Canadian Netflix has better movies.

Smart DNS does not work with newer model Smart TVs. Netflix will detect that you're using DNS

Use it, is completely safe. I use it on my Smart tv. Been using dns for 3 years now.
