This trail changes with every spring runoff or every thunderstorm. I grew up in Vegas and 80s and then did a lot of wheel in there in the 90s after I came home from the Navy. It’s one of my favorite trails. You should try wheeler pass someday. It’s not really hard but beautiful.

I haven’t done Wheeler Pass, but my husband has. I definitely want to experience it! Thanks for watching!!!

Get to RG via the Willow Springs turnout 2 miles after the White Rock turnout.

AKA: Potato Road or Potato Ridge. Great video, very informing. Please consider NOT doing trails alone for safety

That’s a bummer. Did you have the Jeep app installed on your phone when you did it? That’s how we got our badge - it tracks your gps position.

Did you have service when you got to the trail head to check in?

As I recall, service gets really spotty the further into Lovell Canyon. I wouldn't count on it. Take a Garmin InReach if you want that security. Also if you were to do this trail right now, it is almost certainly covered with snow the higher you get in elevation. It has been a heavy snow year for Mt. Charleston, The Spring Mountains, and Rainbow Wilderness. If you plan on doing it make sure to have Southern Nevada Off Road Recovery contact info for any eventualities.

I don’t know. I think the ATV could certainly handle it, but if they’re allowed I don’t know. I don’t think you could drive you ATV out into Red Rock Rock, so you’d probably have to turn around go back to Lovell Canyon.
