    Did you consider re-vacuuming the second bag? And have you noticed a difference in reheat times? I do 2 hours at 140 to be sure to kill any bacteria that may have been introduced during the vacuum sealing process.

    I don’t have a Sous Vide machine, but I reheat mine pretty similar in a pot of hot water. It totally beats microwaving it. Bailey sauce sounds really good. Thanks for sharing

    I have been thinking about reheating with sous vide, but not yet tried it.
    I saw someone reheat brisket like this and said it was good too :)

    The sous vide balls don't push the food packets down. Their purpose is to lessen evaporation from the water bath.

    Nice method for reheating pulled pork! Sous-vide cooking is also suitable for big steaks, first heating up sous-vide, then finishing on the hot BBQ ;-)

      Thanks GarPunk.TV .... Yes it is ..it was like it just came off the pit .. I just did my first cook using sous vide on Tuesday . The video will be out next Tuesday .

    Nice reheating technique John. I like it. I always tell others what ever you do, don't reheat good bbq or a good steak in the microwave. It cooks it and changes the good flavor that we love. I usually let frozen thaw out and get up to room temperature, then put it in the oven at 190 and let it warm up slow and low. I do like the bag in the hot water thing. Guess the next best thing is a freezer bag immersed in hot water in a pot if you don't have a SV. Good info, thanks brother.

      Thanks Phil N Florence ... I appreciate it ... Yeah I have put it in the oven to reheat it myself before .. Turns just fine ... Try the bag in the pot of hot water and see how it comes out .

    Great video John! I do this a lot, but never thought about doing the video! If you watch some of my Sous Vide, I have racks that I use that will hold down the food. You were correct on the bag that did not hold the seal, any air in the bag will be a problem to keep submerged.

      Thanks Greg ... I appreciate it .... It's definitely a new way of doing it . I have the balls that you can put on top of water to hold things down . I haven't used them yet but I will eventual . I was testing it out when I did this video .. My first cook sous vide will be out April 2

    Really cool, but my question is cant you use a pot on the stove on the lowest setting and do the same thing? great vid brother!

    • @1984BBQ
      @1984BBQ  5 років тому

      Thanks James .. I'm sure you could as long as the bag it was in was sealed really good . With the sous vide it cirrulates the water around the container or pot ..
