It's not working for me. I got XMP preset which I need to install, I put it in Camera raw folder as you said but there is nothing in LR. It's working only with lrtamplate presets...I have Clascic CC LR
Can't find my imported XMP files in LR presets :( My LR CC is older - 20.0.10 version, Adobe does not support my High Sierra mac 10.13.6 and Mac does not do updates anymore for my fine running imac mid 2011. I really appreciate any help to get this sorted out.

I get into my Settings folder, add preset folders (or even rename a folder there) and on Lightroom the folders never change names and the new presets always appear under User Presets and not in the folder I put them in. Im trying to add new presets and organize my existing folders and thats a nightmare
How frustrating! LR is often inconsistent from version to version. You can try the process again and double check to make sure you're placing them in the right folder - Often if the folder is wrong it won't work, or you'll just need to try multiple times before Lightroom sees them. If you see the presets have a tilda sign added to the end of them, you'll want to remove this from each preset, then retry. Sometimes LR gets hung up halfway between converting and doesn't finish up.
@@SignatureEdits the only way i could make them work is to import them and then move one by one to created folders ( which i created with + and just add one untitled preset) - and I put them in the right folder as this untitled ones were always appearing there... pain in the ass..

Yes Adobe has since changed the locations around quite a bit... Pretty confusing. Presets now go in Camera Raw! Sorry for the late reply - Hope you figured it out :)
Hi Sara! Hope you've figured this out - But if not, it could be your version of LR requires the presets in a different folder. Or try importing them directly from inside LR rather than placing them in the folder manually. Good luck!

You could see if there is a .lrtemplate version available, or potentially delete all the presets out of the folder, restart lightroom and try again - Sometimes it doesn't recognize them the first time. Super strange. Alternately try both import methods - Both using the in lightroom "add presets" option as well as the Lightroom Preferences --> Show Preset Folder option. 1 might work

Hi Rachel! I'll look into it, but as far as I know there really isn't an easy way to do this - You've got to install the lut creator and use a separate program from Lightroom no matter what. If you find a better way in the meantime, make sure to let me know!!
You might be on an older version of LR, or LR moved the location. Nowadays they go in Adobe-->Camera RAW (Not in the LR folder at all which is retarded but... Oh well)

Most presets sold by people are develop presets. Export presets are what they sound like... Presets for the export settings of your photos :) Hope you managed to figure things out!

hmmm that's very odd for only some of them to show! my hunch is LR probably is reading the presets and assuming you already have them imported so it skips them. typically LR checks the folder and looks for a "~" sign next to the file name to determine if it has been imported. Check and see that those aren't in the filenames of the presets that didn't import and then remove as necessary and restart LR. that's my best guess - Hope this works!

vsco discontinued desktop presets a year or two back, before profiles like this were a thing - So my hunch is that might be causing an error. Make sure you install your presets using the vsco installer as that might help, but I'm pretty sure desktop is no longer supported. Good luck and please share if you figure it out!

If anyone is wondering why your lightroom preferences looks different, its because lightroom classic and lightroom cc are too different apps. Install lightroom classic
You're likely on a newer version & Windows 10. Go to *File* then on the drop down menu you should see *Import Profiles & Presets.* If it's greyed out, add a photo and try again.
As Sarfaraz said you're likely on a different version of LR. Check which version you're on and try searching for a specific tutorial for that version :) Good luck!

This was great, I've been looking for "how to fix underexposed photos in lightroom" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Piyamilla Aphonic Prestige - (do a google search ) ? It is an awesome one of a kind guide for discovering how to use these lightroom presets to edit your photos minus the normal expense. Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my mate got amazing results with it.
These kind of videos are so annoying. They lack any direction or clarity, unorganized etc. Like you didn't mention the name of the folders or anything, you just expected us to know what you were clicking with your mouse next to 100 other different folders.
Why do you talk so fast? I know you know what you are talking about but you need to slow down so someone who is looking for help can follow along. Or type a 1-2-3 list of how to do it.
I mean technically yes... I could have done it in 20% pigeon english, 20% spanish, 20% chinese & 20% arabic... And then I could have flipped the video upside down and left to right so all the text was in inverted. Then I could have played the audio from the final scene of titanic on top of me talking! Thanks for giving me some ideas for my next video :) And also... Sorry it was confusing haha. Did my best!

Hey man! When you click lr preferences, select “show other presets” instead - this will take you to the other preset folders! Hope this helps

In Lightroom 5 it doesnt simply work .xmp format... Whatever folder I put it into .. LR never recognize it ... :/
Correct! Only LR 7.3 and above can use xmp presets - You'll need to upgrade

In regards of the vsco presets, i keep getting a profile missing. which im assuming is my camera profile calibration, how is that fixed?

Hi Karolina - It sounds like you are using an older version of Lightroom, so you would need the old .lrtemplate files!

Decompress is just what happens when you double click a zip file, to turn it into a regular file you can access and look inside of :)
