I'm not sure whether the question is sarcastic or not and this clip is for humour purposes, but the reason you can hang from this random thing on the map is likely because that particular asset has that benefit programmed into it and you may see that asset elsewhere on the map where it could come in handy to circumvent enemy placements. This is just a copy paste of something that could be used properly elsewhere.
