@@rubyrules2 yeah but its not a tas as you go the same speed anyway. even if you do the craziest frame perfect swag routes to exist in the level, that attempt will still take the same time as beating it a normal way. However, with 2.2 platformer levels tasses will be different (for now in 2.1 botting != tas)
Undoubtedly they will. Speedrunning will almost undoubtedly become commonplace in 2.2. You can your worth as one of the best in normal levels by beating them, but you can only prove your worth as one of the best in platformer by being fast. There’s already a niche GD 2.11 speedrunning community, but it’s about to blow up.
There are tons of near impossible movements done in this run, such as barely clipping into walls and jumping off of them, and jumping off of platforms and into the transitional chasms prematurely. However, there are also of plenty humanly possible skips, available for the daring. If you are looking to speedrun this, it is more than possible, though also a fortuitous task. Best of luck to the brave… 1:36
0:37 did the tas just turn into a pussy? the tas can easily go on the next platform, if staying at the edge saves time, idk how tbh anyways nice speedrun
It doesn't really matter how or when you jump during that period since you'll have to wait the same amount of time for the platform to reach the end. I knew this and was just kinda fucking around at the time lol
Honest answer? I'm a teenager that, despite going to a difficult school, has far too much time on his hands. I've been creating levels in this game for over 8 years now and in that time I've taught myself design, colors, composition, programming, animation, and captivating theming. I've always been a mathematically minded person with a big imagination, so that's helped out with much of the problem-solving that comes with level design, especially for a minigame. But other than that its been a surprise to many people that I have little to no background in art or animation, which only solidifies my belief that the creation of beauty can be wielded by absolutely anyone who has an eye for that beauty. You don't need to study the art and abide by structural commands to create something, because its ingrained in all of us to know what is beautiful, we just need to refine our ability to express it.
No, follow trigger movement tends to lag more than normal movement, so having the entire level do that would be detrimental, instead I just have two separate triggers doing the opposite things for every movement of the player
People are making *tas speedruns* of a Geometry Dash level. Do you f*cking understand the meaning of this sentence?! I think this is enough of a proof that YoReid is in the league of his own. The only thing I wonder now is if the TAS can beat the level with all three coins *and* in under 2:30.....
@@ratquesadillamayonnaise7409 well the controls are spacebar and arrow key like any other minigame, but to jump you press one button while running with the other, this limits jumping to being only left or right and not straight up but it still gives a wide range of movement

Seeing Geometry Dash and TAS in the same sentence is weird, but I feel like I will see that a lot more often when 2.2 releases
Fun Fact: notting a level is basically a tas, I mean, you use the same tools as you would If you were doing a tas

A TAS in Geometry Dash would have sounded like a stupid joke a couple years ago, and here we are. This is amazing.
For the first time we have “TAS-only” moves in a Geometry Dash minigame
Nice👍🏻 I think it would be cool to see a TAS of Floating Outskirts at some point after that comes out.

Never thought I'd see a TAS on GD ngl
this needs more recognition jist saying
Holyyyyy! New speedrun category just dropped!!???!?!
Yo, you're one of the best creators on gd
I didn't even know you could go that fast in this lol
1:24 can't you just go up and avoid every single spike and axes?
There's a wall at the end, feel free to try though
Mario called he wants his mushrooms back
Now i'm curious about an ILL for platformer levels in 2.2
I am currently waiting for you to create a new level, I want you to tell me if this level will be minigame or normal
My next project is Tar Spit and its not a minigame, you can see a preview of it from a while ago on my channel
I definitely cannot beat that. With and without the coins i beat it a bit after 50% which is nowhere near as fast
This is interesting
sick af

yo it's yoreid
will this be ported in 2.2 platformer?
Why should it? Optimization? I see, it would probably control better too. But he would have to redo a lot of the engine
I thought this was actually just a play former game, not gd
