I feel like this game is just full of set animations. If you have a dunker and he goes for a dunk the dunk either gets canceled or you get put into lay up where the block animation is set 💀 so finishing and shooting is rng on attack. Steals and blocks are rng. Rng2k25 😭

I am a 2k fanatic, literally 80%-88% every year. Not bragging at all, but this is where I explain why this game changed me. I always play on a PG/SG. This year I got so frustrated with RNG, I made a 6’6 post scoring SG. Literally no shooting, rim run or post score. I have a 96% WP in the city. That is in 2 seasons, this season my record is 206-1. All my squad, prolly 6-7 players don’t even play 2k25 anymore. This game sucks so bad it changed me to play the build type, I hated the most. The only reason I still play, is cause I love Basketball!

Very well put together. It became an issue right when next gen for 2K21 was introduced if a lot of people remember (understanding a lot of people missed it due to the limited quantity of PS5’s at the time) but everything was going in the right direction. Nobody expected a perfect game because not every consumer is going to want the same thing, at the same time there has to be a point of accountability to stop holding the hands of others, allow the arcade gameplay because that’s what brings the dopamine effect in most brains, but most importantly… accountability for skill level. Someone will complain every year and it just needs to be held to the standard that either you get better or you don’t.
Fr the arcade dribbling is a staple of 2k now the games full of rng and everyone plays the same, by removing the arcade dribbling they’re completely removing a core part of the game

The whole game is based on chance, I've missed wide open layups and wide open threes (I know my jumpshot and I got a high 3) playing 2k25 is like rolling a dice. When u take a shot roll a dice, if you dunk roll a dice because it's all based on chancs not skill or ratings
Imo nba2k24 was some of the most fun I’ve had on 2k since 2k20. I had 6’6 sga build and it felt good to be rewarded for knowing my timing. RNG AND BASKETBALL DOESNT MIX THATS WHY IM STAYING ON 24

Agreed, lastnight I was on pro am and first game had latency but I felt I had the closest control over my player to a my career game, then second game to the rest of the night the latency felt stronger than the first, I’d hold shoot button and my player wouldn’t even start the shooting animation for about a split second, and when I’d do pullbacks, my players stands still, like idk my simple mind think, how do a lot of these other games like cod, Fortnite, madden, etc, don’t have latency like 2k does and I just don’t understand why🤦🏽🤦🏽 like bro 2k makes so much money off this game every year, with ppl buying VC and other shit, like how can yah not just fix something with the latency????
i believe 2k is going down hill is because EVERYBODY WANTS TO PLAY META, the dribbling is horrible, the defense is non existent at times, and the shooting is inconsistent.. 2k20 was the most well rounded 2k regardless of what the people say. in 20 defense and offense was good so everything was balanced out. all they have to do is stop making us wait for animations, give us better offense, make the defense useful without somebody having to us the steal button to get stops, and also make more animations useful because right we are all using the same animations which isn’t fun at all.

Crazy part is the game play is different but it’s literally 2k24 base cause look at the pointless 40 reward from season 1 which in 2k24 would of been a great reward, even if u look the badges still say “won’t be effected by regression in certain modes” but why would it say that if there’s no regression. It’s also the fact that they had us get used to shooting in the first season and when I got used to it they changed it up again and I hate it even more than I did before.. the game is slow and boring and idk about every one else but the “realism” im supposed to be seeing isn’t there at all😕 low % free throws still go in, I miss wide open lay ups but see the craziest things go in, and i shoot 60-100% one game then 17% the next. OH AND DONT FORGET THE GAME IS STILL DELAYED.. yes I know everyone adapts do it but my thing is we shouldn’t have to adapt to a game that feels horrible to play on.

i just want my s4 sigs then im playing the game casual again. Right now I'm 87% to s4 , got no rep boost since im elite & I wasn't hip to the grinders in rise. Other than that this game pisses me off with thr rng, people able to green heavily contested whites on jumpers & layups, real player% allowing u to make red contests. Dunk meter is laughable on how bad it is, its no where near clear on when to release it. playing against op post scorers on a guard in 1v1 proving grounds... Just based off these things alone I dont even care about being comp in this game, its not worth the stress

8:06 So true. I’ve been notorious for being the best shooter in my group of friends since 2k20. This year I still shoot 50% with the rng and stuff. So with that being said, there are shots I’ve missed that I know I’ve should’ve made. I love simulation. It’s fun for me in OFFLINE modes. I love cooking the cpu with realistic dribble moves and it look like I’m watching and playing in a real game. OFFLINE. Trying to have sim in an online mode isn’t good for the game. They need to cater to one community or make two separate games. They need to allow the arcade-ism back in the game to keep their main community happy. If our sim heads gotta take a hit, oh well because although we are a pretty big portion of the community, we’re nowhere need a big as the park pro am stage community is and that’s who they should and need to be pleasing Edit: They can even make it a setting where you can choose between Sim and Arcade style dribbling similar to how they have different aim styles in shooting games
You are absolutely right. I don't think they want celebrity status tho. I believe they make the game for themselves. They make it how they prefer to play. Although most of them play one to three hours a day. When there are creators and people who are just sweating on the game. There are people who spend most of their day or night on the game. The game is awful. The developers made the game to fit how they like to play.

Game is slow and clunky. Too many slow downs. Fumble, and stun animations! Shoot on high risks and still get terrible rim bounce green animations. Now 100% free throws aren't green. They make but they ain't green. Devs idea of making defense better is more stuns!
I lasted only 2 weeks after release, every year 2k has aspects we dislike but there’s always a redeeming quality that keeps us on the game. Nearly every aspect of 25 is broken with no redeeming qualities sluggish movement, dribbling is harder just because, you literally cannot stop when you want to, threes are a coin toss, contests are a coin toss, all the defense has to do is run to your hand to steal the ball. I can keep going this is a terrible game plain and simple.
My issue with 2k is that im most a rec player mostly with randoms and its ridiculous how bad the teammates they give me be im a purple banner and mostly get black or brown banners against a full team of purple banners running zone then when i quit i get banned 30-60 minutes 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️ it makes me not even wanna play the game nomo i can hardly play a hour before i rage quit…

The whole game is based on chance, I've missed wide open layups and wide open threes (I know my jumpshot and I got a high 3) playing 2k25 is like rolling a dice. When u take a shot roll a dice, if you dunk roll a dice because it's all based on chancs not skill or ratings
Imo nba2k24 was some of the most fun I’ve had on 2k since 2k20. I had 6’6 sga build and it felt good to be rewarded for knowing my timing. RNG AND BASKETBALL DOESNT MIX THATS WHY IM STAYING ON 24

The new feeling always keep the game alive the first 2 weeks, but after that.. we get to see if it’s really like that. Some 2ks took a little while to become fun, like 24.. but I don’t see that happening for 25

Agreed, lastnight I was on pro am and first game had latency but I felt I had the closest control over my player to a my career game, then second game to the rest of the night the latency felt stronger than the first, I’d hold shoot button and my player wouldn’t even start the shooting animation for about a split second, and when I’d do pullbacks, my players stands still, like idk my simple mind think, how do a lot of these other games like cod, Fortnite, madden, etc, don’t have latency like 2k does and I just don’t understand why🤦🏽🤦🏽 like bro 2k makes so much money off this game every year, with ppl buying VC and other shit, like how can yah not just fix something with the latency????

i believe 2k is going down hill is because EVERYBODY WANTS TO PLAY META, the dribbling is horrible, the defense is non existent at times, and the shooting is inconsistent.. 2k20 was the most well rounded 2k regardless of what the people say. in 20 defense and offense was good so everything was balanced out. all they have to do is stop making us wait for animations, give us better offense, make the defense useful without somebody having to us the steal button to get stops, and also make more animations useful because right we are all using the same animations which isn’t fun at all.
The game been going downhill no way the dribbling is like this 😂 we all have the same shit on every year. I should be able to use any jump-shot and green, or animation and not feel clunky . Cant even get other contact animations even though have more than one dunk equipped its sad
Yaad please answer me this. Yes we know shooting rng, dunk meter not existing and defense almost not working as a whole, contests/ all interior being unpredictable) is horrible. BUT WHY? in a game where you get the bare minimum of vc and builds take unrealistic time to upgrade which is why people pay money for them. WHY on a game where to go from an attribute rating of 50-70 is 20kvc. Now we are REQUIRED to spend 10,20k to participate in events ???? You have to pay to participate in events now ? in a game that gives you bare minimum vc for your player is outrageous to me.
Crazy part is the game play is different but it’s literally 2k24 base cause look at the pointless 40 reward from season 1 which in 2k24 would of been a great reward, even if u look the badges still say “won’t be effected by regression in certain modes” but why would it say that if there’s no regression. They definitely short cutter the game and built on top of 2k24

Ima say it cuz no one else will. This game truly hasn’t been anywhere near good since 2k22 next gen. The issue is people and content creators and the community in general continued to lie to themselves and one another saying that the games we’ve been playing for the past 2-3 years has been a good game. If we would’ve came together years ago and addressed these same issues back then we wouldn’t be here rn.

As slow as this game speed is the game will suck regardless of what else they change. Been playing 2k since 2k16.. even 2k 18 is better than this
It’s also the fact that they had us get used to shooting in the first season and when I got used to it they changed it up again and I hate it even more than I did before.. the game is slow and boring and idk about every one else but the “realism” im supposed to be seeing isn’t there at all😕 low % free throws still go in, I miss wide open lay ups but see the craziest things go in, and i shoot 60-100% one game then 17% the next.
OH AND DONT FORGET THE GAME IS STILL DELAYED.. yes I know everyone adapts do it but my thing is we shouldn’t have to adapt to a game that feels horrible to play on.

i just want my s4 sigs then im playing the game casual again. Right now I'm 87% to s4 , got no rep boost since im elite & I wasn't hip to the grinders in rise. Other than that this game pisses me off with thr rng, people able to green heavily contested whites on jumpers & layups, real player% allowing u to make red contests. Dunk meter is laughable on how bad it is, its no where near clear on when to release it. playing against op post scorers on a guard in 1v1 proving grounds... Just based off these things alone I dont even care about being comp in this game, its not worth the stress
for me personally when the game came out it was fire ngl (just steals and contest to nerf) but when season 2 came out this 2k was litteraly not the same, im tired of steals, tired of the meta pg-screen-takeover abuser in park (0 skills) , tired of playing in squad q in rec because im playing with 1 friend and go against a full squad (AHHHHHHHH), tired of community build (everybody got the same build again and again) that's just ruined this game so far, in pc the game is laggy it's horrible it's not optimized for pc (shot meter reset, can't join a friend, graphic reset, crash) for real i gave up now i never buy a 2k again i swear

all games are run on servers. 2k obviously has servers otherwise there wouldn’t be any online game modes. They just haven’t upgraded their servers for years. It’s outdated as fuck. Think about any other game you play online, how can they achieve damn near 0 latency? Cos they reinvest in their game

8:06 So true. I’ve been notorious for being the best shooter in my group of friends since 2k20. This year I still shoot 50% with the rng and stuff. So with that being said, there are shots I’ve missed that I know I’ve should’ve made. I love simulation. It’s fun for me in OFFLINE modes. I love cooking the cpu with realistic dribble moves and it look like I’m watching and playing in a real game. OFFLINE. Trying to have sim in an online mode isn’t good for the game. They need to cater to one community or make two separate games. They need to allow the arcade-ism back in the game to keep their main community happy. If our sim heads gotta take a hit, oh well because although we are a pretty big portion of the community, we’re nowhere need a big as the park pro am stage community is and that’s who they should and need to be pleasing
Edit: They can even make it a setting where you can choose between Sim and Arcade style dribbling similar to how they have different aim styles in shooting games
You are absolutely right. I don't think they want celebrity status tho. I believe they make the game for themselves. They make it how they prefer to play. Although most of them play one to three hours a day. When there are creators and people who are just sweating on the game. There are people who spend most of their day or night on the game. The game is awful. The developers made the game to fit how they like to play.

Game is slow and clunky. Too many slow downs. Fumble, and stun animations! Shoot on high risks and still get terrible rim bounce green animations. Now 100% free throws aren't green. They make but they ain't green. Devs idea of making defense better is more stuns!
I lasted only 2 weeks after release, every year 2k has aspects we dislike but there’s always a redeeming quality that keeps us on the game. Nearly every aspect of 25 is broken with no redeeming qualities sluggish movement, dribbling is harder just because, you literally cannot stop when you want to, threes are a coin toss, contests are a coin toss, all the defense has to do is run to your hand to steal the ball. I can keep going this is a terrible game plain and simple.
If 18 came back right now it'd have more concurrent players than,25 across all platforms
