In south africa the law makes no legal distinction between drawing/ brandishing a nerf, firing a nerf and everything in between. All are lumped together under 'handling a nerf', so when I asked a 'nerf' lawyer about using an under-rail mounted light for room clearing, he explained that because I had 'handled' the nerf by removing it from the holster it would be illegal (no immediate threat) and I could have my licence confiscated for misuse. Oh and we also have some of the highest 'nerf' crime in the world. Moral of the story, do not let them take your rights away because you will NEVER get them back.
Well there was a case where a guy died holding their pocket flashlight in his mouth, working on his car, when it exploded sadly. So not technically accurate 😅 That said this is probably their best model IMO because it doesn't take rechargeable batteries (I would never use one of their built in battery models, those are the ones that historically have problems combusting spontaneously).
I think everything has it place. olight makes great EDC lights and camping equipment. the weapon optics and lights arent proven by professionals. I carry several olight flashlights but ill use surefire as a weapon light
Streamlight is still a better choice. Considerably more durable and field tested. There areso many TLR-1HLs in use by law enforcement. I have a surefire X300U and I still choose to carry a TLR-1HL any time I am carrying a full size. I have multiple streamlight products and none of them have failed me. Personally I will not trust my life to an Olight. I have had a few of their non weapon mounted flashlights and I will pass of that lol.
I have a TLR-1 and TLR-1HL as well. I agree about durability generally except for one thing. I will say the battery door on my TLR-1 HL broke after like a few hundred rounds (the circuitry is hot glued down, not kidding). So I had to replace the battery door, and it has been fine several thousand rounds since. I wasn't super impressed by that design. The rest of the light is rock solid though. I won't say the Olight is objectively better or worse from a durability standpoint (I don't have enough data on it to say definitively), but this particular model is definitely brighter performance wise. Overall id rather support an American company though regardless
I just use a tlr-7a for home defense. You dont need a crazy powerful light for indoor use. Kept the light attached at the range.... still kicking at around 1000 rds

Love my PL turbos. I've had mine over a year now and have had zero issues.
As long as that thing says "Olight" on the side IT WILL NEVER be an anything killer. 😂

Better to spend the money on a Streamlight if you’re on a budget.
Nothing wrong with stream light, I have 2 TLR-1s. Just make sure to get the HL model (the base TLR-1 is very dim).
I cant get away from the surefire x300 turbo
That's a great light, never change it lol
@crackshot-tv agreed for rifle lights how do you feel about cloud defensive Rein 3.0
@@kotababy411 Unfortunately don't have any experience with that light, but I've heard a lot of positive things about it
So overpriced ....
@@atranimecs maybe but it's tried and so and will always be reliable
