He's been a decent player since the beginning of his arrival just inconsistent and some bad misses. Overall any Chelsea fan would acknowledge he has redeeming qualities. Good dribbles, high work rate, unselfish, good at getting past defenders in space, good at duels etc

@@superchad3000 nah but it’s true. Our fans are bipolar, one match they’re calling the board idiots for not buying Osimhen and the next they’re calling him the next Drogba
I’ve defended him from other fans and their criticism after every mishap and when people demanded to replace him with osihmen. He had the best first season of a striker at Chelsea in a long time and is still very young. I’m glad his proving people wrong
Jackson’s best attribute was never finishing but he still contributes to team with his other skill sets. I am glad many strikers rejected Chelsea cuz if not, maybe Jackson won’t get minutes
Never hated him or made fun if him I just never aid he was the best as he was someone that u couldn't rely on and now he has changed that this season so nice to see him improve
I made fun of him and Sterling, the only player I had faith in was Caciedo. However, I still don't trust Jackson. I'll change my mind at the end of the season
Man has always been a good winger at Villareal, he had good connection with Moreno and others.Just that people are obsessed with stats these days that he was underrated.
Link up play, hold up play and movement is exceptional, only thing that was missing were the goals. If he keeps the form up we’re looking at a world class striker
Anyone who understands football even slightly could see from his first season that Jackson is one of the best at finding pockets of spaces in the box, making intelligent runs, beating defenders with explosive pace, physically strong winning duels, and even pressing from the front. The only thing letting him down was his finishing . It was abysmal. Inspite of that he managed 20 goal contributions in his debut PL season. So it is not really much of a shock now that he is cooking
As a neutral I was saying this last season about Jackson. The man was able to always create or get chances it was just a matter of finishing them. I hope he’s able to keep this level of consistency and potency throughout the season!
Jackson is literally one of the best strikers in the league. Please remember just how young he is. He's not like Nunez ,who came to the country at a very old age. He's yet to prove himself even more
He was frustrating to watch at timeS but his holdup play has always looked great and he actually looks for his teammates. The only thing that was missing was the clinical finish. Bro has only actually been a striker for 2-3 seasons now but he is on track to be very good
He's overhated ngl, he had a talent, and somehow he is the best one to link up with palmer without jackson no palmer and the otherwise. Check their contribution goals this season and last season this duo seriously had a potential and carrying chelsea until know they need together
Talk about misleading… Chelsea DEFINITELY tried to bring in a striker so any failure to do so was not a “yk what? nah let’s stick with just Jackson.” No, it was clear obvious, and reported, that we ONLY had Jackson as a striker and we would bring one in. Second, and related, Jackson’s contract extension was not (1) a new contract or (2) a club decision that was freshly made right then and there. Jackson’s contract INCLUDED an extension clause which would be TRIGGERED AUTOMATICALLY when certain metrics were met, SAME AS PALMER. Which means two things; (1) this isnt a crazy extension given to players who are already on long contracts and (2) if Jackson met his extension clause metric then that means he OUTPERFORMED WHAT WAS CONTRACTUALLY EXPECTED OF HIM FOR HIS FIRST YEAR, which destroys your “mixed bag” first season argument considering his own employers had set LOWER EXPECTATIONS for him and he EXCEEDED those.
I think he needed time. Chelsea has never had a great striker. At least not in recent years. Them going out of their way to buy strikers has never worked. The only time recently they had a decent striker was when they developed Tammy Abraham. He was young and didn’t have a lot of pressure on his shoulders. They should keep doing with the same with Jackson
Jackson's flaw is a typical flaw of a young player: poor decision, lacking composure in front of the goal, and consistency. Give him time and good coaching, he might as well be better than Drogba, especially if he could improve his body strength a little bit.
But he keeps improving on that, has only recently been converted into a striker and he's only 22 (young players are expected to be inconsistent at times). Don't forget Drogba had loads of critics in his first 2 seasons (Jackson actually scored more in his first) and some people didn't rate him until he exploded in 06/07
His link-up play and movement are brilliant. He started last season as an offside merchant and kept getting booked but got that out of his game and the fact he underperforms his xg while scoring a decent number of goals only bodes well if he can also improve on his composure. He could bang 30+ goal a season if he does because he gets in the right positions
I’m proud to say I’ve been a Jackson fan since day 1. His link up play and his movement immediately caught my attention, they are truly great. Even a proven striker like Osimhen isn’t as good as him in those departments. But I must admit Nico’s finishing last season was definitely questionable. I got laughed at multiple times for saying we didn’t need to spend big on another number 9 but now I smile when I read how much support he is receiving. I hope he can keep up the good work.
Not gonna lie, I was a hater at times. It was just infuriating watching Jackson miss those easy chances. BUT, I did see the potential, and I let some of it subside. Now, I can proudly say I was proven wrong. We got a future baller on our hands! 💙
His game as our No. 9 is all about runs, pressing and finishing. 2/3 ain’t bad, but finishing is the most important attribute, in most people’s mind. And he is frustratingly inconsistent. Was brilliant and incisive with his finishes. But he generally hesitates as if he’s not sure when or how to hit it. If he scores more often, banishes the doubt in his head, there will be nothing for the haters to point to. And this Chelsea team will give him lots of chances. Lots and lots of them.
They aren't flopped. They only have their own prime and have their own ways to show up their skills. For example. Werner isn't good enough at premier league. But he's doing great at champion league (my opinion). Unless Falcao , he doesn't even exist at Chelsea 😂
