- Russian President Putin has accused the NATO military alliance of creating a security threat for Russia and other nations in Asia. Putin said he wanted to build a "reliable security architecture" in the Asia-Pacific region during a state visit to Vietnam on June 20. Putin also warned that Russia was thinking about possible changes to its doctrine on the use of nuclear weapons. Meanwhile, A top US official will visit Vietnam on June 21 to reaffirm American support, the State Department said following Putin’s trip to the country.

Of course US is not concerned with Russia strong military ties with Vietnam but US is extremely concern about Vietnam not forgetting the millions of innocent women and children that were killed during the vietnam war by indiscriminate bombing and spraying of orange agent on almost the entire land of Laos and Vietnam. 3. Forced Recruitment and Labor: The Viet Minh and Viet Cong often forcibly recruited civilians into their ranks, including children. They also imposed forced labor on villagers to support their military efforts, including building fortifications and transporting supplies.
4. Destruction of Villages: In areas where they suspected cooperation with South Vietnamese or U.S. forces, the Viet Cong sometimes destroyed entire villages. This was done both to punish collaboration and to prevent resources from being used by their enemies.
5. Re-education Camps and Political Purges: After the war, when the Communists took over South Vietnam, many people were sent to re-education camps where they faced harsh conditions, forced labor, and political indoctrination. There were also purges against those associated with the former South Vietnamese government and military.

The world is severely divided with the West on one side and the East on the other. While the west are far from perfect, at least there is an acceptable level of democracy. Freedom of speech and Expression, freedom of movement and so man others. Also, economically and technologically, the world is heavily dependent on the west as there are more developed countries in the west than any part of the world.
On the other hand, we have the East comprising of major players such as Russia, China, North Korea and Iran. In Iran you get hanged for speaking against the regimed or imprisoned for dressing up in a particular way, In some cases you are prosecuted for believeing in a different faith other than islam. North Korea is so locked down that you are not allowed to travel around taking videos or photos without permission, you are jailed or killed for speaking ill of the supreme leader. China is constantly bullying it's neighbours and one thing the all share in common is that information is heavily censored in these countries and you can only watch what the regimes want you to see.
This is just a very small fraction of some of the reasons why a reasonable human would not want to live under communist or authoritarian regimes. And a perfect example is the influx of migrants from these eastern nations seeking refuge in western countries. The west is not perfect but i'll take my chances with the devil i know rather than the communist "angel" trying to play God.

There is no democracy at the UN and the western power does as it pleases. The words "democracy" and "freedom" are just tools to enforce it's global hegemony. The physical occupation or colonialism may be over but the economic colonialism if the west still exist. The dollar dominance is the sophisticated form of neo-colonialism.
