I am thoroughly enjoying the whole set of the Cantatas. It appears that the group enjoys working together, and that comes through in the music. The soloists are outstanding; it is all very fine.
I agree that these cantatas are so sensitively sung, especially by the tenor. Perhaps the perspective of just being in another country where the cantatas are known to be sure, but where there are is a fresh feeling by virtue of being in an "outsider" land. Bravo!
I think Naomi was talking sarcasticly about being tired of amount of conraltos in modern performances :) Being honest I might agree with her... I love them, but women singing alto is my favorite human voice.
