Wonderful video, thank you for your service to the DIY toner refill community. I do love your openness and thorough explanation. I learned that some toners have a built in waste compartment, and that toner can be compatible across brands. Love that you also freely share your resources to help diagnose issues. I wish you much success.
In your refill instructions you mention using duct tape to seal up the hole, but in the video you've got the grommets & sealant? What would you say would be the most reliable method overall? Glad I found this too, as my M479dfn is in dire need of new toner!!
We mention tape in relation to the waste hole, where there's more flat surface that can take the tape. For the refill hole, definitely go with the melt plugs and sealant as you see at this timecode ua-cam.com/video/HJvxGS7ZtBM/v-deo.htmlsi=6tIxiWaGVr0oWby8&t=387
Can I refill the introductory cartridges that came with my M479FDW printer using this method? Or do I have to purchase an actual full 415A and use it up before performing this? Please inform. Thank you so much in advance. EDIT: Introductory cartridges here refers to the C, M, and Y cartridges, as the M479FDW comes with a full-sized actual 415A Black cartridge, which I guess can be refilled normally as per this video as it is a normal 415A cartridge. Curious about the introductory cartridges, though, and would love to know if they can be refilled before I throw them out. Thanks!
Hi, thanks for the video, it was very useful, but I have a problem. After refilling the toner, I started to get the black streaks and did the procedure to empty the waste compartment, but I'm still getting the black streaks. I can print around 4-5 pages in a row before getting the streaks again, so If I need to print more pages I have to do it in little amounts. I don't know what I'm doing wrong or if I didn't clean the waste compartment properly.
So maybe 1) the problem is not waste, but some other problem 2) compacted waste bridge ? tap on back of waste compartment at point where streaks are coming out to try and break up compacted waste Please make contact with our customer services here www.urefilltoner.co.uk/contact_form.aspx After which, you can send us test prints to help diagnose the issue
@@urefilltonerUK I didn't buy the refiller kit from you, so I don't know If it is ok for me to contact with your customer services. I got it from a local provider (south america). I can now print more pages, it looks like each time I'm being able to print more pages without the streaks which is kind of weird. Thanks for the help anyways
@@urefilltonerUK alright I've seen it. It involves another hole melting. But why use duct tape and not one of your plug with sealant?.. also, wouldn't it be better if you produce a video for this? Hehe. Probably a lot would be interested :) thanks for the responses btw.
@@deflores4573 Duct tape is the default approach in the case the lab feels there is enough flat space around the hole position for the tape to stick to
@@deflores4573 Most of our customers don't have access to compressed air and it needs to be used carefully because the delicate mylar seal gets damaged or reversed, the cartridge will leak badly

Yes, it'll work no problem with introductory cartridges

How many times can you refill these model toner b4 you have to get a new one?
About three, assuming you empty the waste as needed
Do you also have a video of emptying the waste toner compartment of the cartridge?

Also, wouldn't it be quicker to use compressed air for removing the waste toner? Or just shaking it would suffice?

What about the chip? Won't my printer recognize that the cartridge is already used..?
Set the "very low" setting to "continue" as explained here ua-cam.com/video/HJvxGS7ZtBM/v-deo.html
The printer will ignore the chip
@@urefilltonerUK oh thanks! Do you think this will also work on their new model M480f?
I do, because the M480f also uses the HP 415A cartridge
Now please show how to empty the integrated waste toner reservoir. Super annoying when it fills and there is plenty of life in the cartridge!!!!

@@urefilltonerUK I wish I would have seen this sooner, I burned an exploratory drain hole in the wrong area and killed my cartridge LOL. ...Next time
