    I always felt that the GameCube was the unofficial continuation of the DreamCast. They both are very unappreciated and both had some very strange and creative titles.

    There has never been a console that captured my imagination and intrigue as much as the GameCube, and I don't think there ever will be. Unlike every other console (or any device for that matter) that I've owned, I've never seen it as an electronic consumer product. The instant the logo appears I forget that it's even a machine - I just got caught up in the magic that exuded from every game as a child, and that feeling persists within me even today, as a 20 year old man. It was pure joy in a box.

    The game had a pretty decent soundtrack too, a ridiculous difficulty curve near the end, and a surprisingly high amount of replay value. I honestly think if it weren't for that RAIL GLITCH IN WORLD 5-1, and the fact that it revolves around chickens, the game could've actually made some waves. It's really deceivingly clever.

      It was the only console I had and I never regretted it. There were a few times I wished I had a Ps2 along side it for the Sly Cooper games and whenever a Jak and Daxter came out but I never would've traded it for a ps2 and I still won't although I have been thinking of getting one once I get everything I care about on the cube. I never got to play many of the fighting games on the cube as a kid to this day the only ones i've played are ultimate muscle(the best game for the system imo) and smash so i'd like to acquire some bloody roar and day of reckoning before I get into ps2 at the least.

      I bought Gamecube in 2014 and I loved it,the console is very reliable,have great looking and feeling controller easily one of the nintendo's best,the game loads super fast,the graphics were better than PS2 and probably the only two console in my opininon for the time still have personality purely because it really excelled at being a fun looking console that play games and do it with style.

    The Gamecube did have some strange games but that's what made the system so unique. It had unique, strange and fun games that you couldn't play on any other game console. Unfortunately the system didn't get enough love from Nintendo. The Gamecube deserved better than that.

  • @CornishCreamtea07
    @CornishCreamtea07 11 років тому

    The Gamecube started strong with some of Nintendos best and most creative games, and they were very good with 3rd party publishers, have had some pretty good Star Wars games and the metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes. The problem was that they started to run out of games, 2004 had a few notable games but apart from that the console wasn't getting enough support from Nintendo.

    The only console I like more than the Gamecube is the Wii, and 90% of that love, is because you can play Gamecube games on it. The other 10% are for it being able to play games even older than that and for the Art Style series.

  • @Ioshyriku903
    @Ioshyriku903 11 років тому +1

    It's not really an exclusive since it was later ported to the PC. Quite an enjoiable game, it's very fun to play and has a nice art direction, but Billy's constant yelling and the not-so-good camera in some areas kinda kills the charm of the game, in my opinion. But if you don't mind those small flaws the game is really good.

    I love the game cube it's still one of my favorite systems ever, despite it's limitations the developers really took chances with games like Billy Hatcher, and RE4 really pushed the GameCube too it's limits, and I still say that's the most fun version of RE4 to play.

  • @AstralFrost

    Other than the awful controller and mini discs that had half the capacity of a DVD-9, thus causing some developers to shy away from porting to it, it was a great console. It was a strong secondary console, complementing a PS2 or Xbox. And that's perfectly fine.

  • @OmegaBlades

    Even IF the prices were the same as you claim -which they definitely aren't, since I payed 364 on launch for my ZombiU premium pack with obviously ZombiU and the the gamepad, pro controller, indirect discount on eshop, even a sensorbar, as opposed to 399 and 499 for respectively ps4 and xbone with just the console, one controller (and a mandatory kinect nobody wants)- if you want to use online functions, you'll have to keep paying up.
    Also, gamepad is awesome for browsing the internet, really!

    yes, just think about it, there is no reason for consoles if exclusives stop being made. And considering that the Pc can do anything a console can and much more, there is no need for those.
    Of course this is a very bold speculation, considering microsoft, sony and nintendo will want their share of the millions of dollars they make from their consoles.
    So It might never happen, but not for positive reasons

    how is gaming doomed?
    Valve has proven that the most efficient, consumer friendly and democratic way to sell video games is through a free system that sells games cheap and with high quality enough in order to compete with pirates.
    If these so called "big 3" keep making overpriced consoles with payed online servers and gimmicky controllers that are only there so you can pay even more money, THEN gaming is doomed, Console gaming that is, because PC gaming only seems to get better and better

    y´know? I actually like your POV, but i don´t think it´s about the money. Companies like sega or nintendo have a philosophy on gaming which for a strange reason eludes the american market. I do believe the steam way is the way of the future, but I wouldn´t sacrifice creativity for rentability
