Torching my weeds with a cane torch and the Harbor Freight Greenwood torch for bigger weed patches has helped me to knock down the oxalis, dichondra and poa annua problems in my yard. New oxalis grows fast so you have to monitor the yard for new growth every day and burn it to wear it out. You'll notice the leaves getting smaller and smaller. Burn the poa annua and the seeds fall off and burn them up too.

They make weed burners that are towed by tractors, it's not just for cracks in concrete. Sure it's tedious to use it for a large area, but it's not gonna hurt anything with burn marks. Plants love the aftermath of fire because nutrients are broken down and easier to uptake. It's not uncommon for people to dig into an area they want to plant about six inches to a foot deep, burn a bunch of logs and sticks and then toss the dirt back in and work it all in together. Think they call it biochar.
From what I've been told you just have to wilt the leaves to kill them. If you actually set them on fire your lawn will stink for days. Best for driveways.
After a couple months use mine shuts off consistently after a couple of minutes of use. Anyone knows why? The vents are not obstructed, The propane tank is full. I though of condensation inside the valve. Anyone knows why?
Get one that hooks up to a 20 lb propane tank. Those models will help you to get every bit of the fossil fuel you paid for. When a tank doesn’t seem full enough for the grill, I’ll hook it up to my new weed torch. This one in the video is pissant and would be expensive to use. A better one can conquer a pretty big yard and help you plant something else. There is no chemical residue and the leftover ash will feed the next crop of weeds there. Lol.
@@ingridr8917 you could use a longer gas line from the tank to the burner to give yourself a larger working area and reduce the amount of times you gotta move the propane tank or to prevent holding it altogether.

If it’s NOT killing the root ( my opinion ) It’s just a WASTE of time and money....I’d be better off using a water hose wand to saturate the weed & ROOT with water and pull the entire root up !
Those pressurized wands ARE CHEAPER , less dangerous, don’t burn and leave black holes in the surrounding area and I stated if done right removes the root and also you aren’t polluting the air with the smoke that comes from the flame 🔥
I know what it's really for, by "weed torch", they mean it's for dumbass stones like me, its a long reach torch, because sometimes a long reach lighter isn't enough, its to help us not burn all the hair off our faces when lighting a BBQ, camp fire, or bonfire lol.
The tank, even when 3/4 empty weights too much. Especially on uneven ground or around a lake or pond. I went back to useing a two wheel dolly and a longer hose.

This is also good to take oil stains off your driveway
Really? Cool
Concrete or Asphalt or both
@@pupdog7374 i wouldn't use a torch on asphalt. Don't know for certain cuz my driveway is concrete but 6 would imagine you'd melt the asphalt
Don’t burn poison Ivy!!! You’ll be sorry.
You don’t really incinerate weeds with this sort of torch. You literally roast the stem/root area, and the rest of the plant dies.
Why not ? What happens ?

How long does the weed torch burn on one tank?
I would say 5 or 6 times. You might need couple each summer depending on how big the application is
Now you have burn marks all over your yard. People use these to burn weeds out from cracks in the concrete.
DIY Reid how I’ve hidden the burn marks is to place potting mix on those burnt areas and the lawn grass then sprouts
LoL... I think this would be perfect for both Dandylion plants and burning off the seed pods that will help stop them from spreading.

3 years later how did it do overall?
This looks like it would be perfect for weeds in lava rock beeds
Would have been good to see the result of dead weeds after few days, did it kill the poison ivy?
I love the torch so much I purchased 2 so far...
You forgot to burn creeping Charlie

Mine does too 😠
Looks like virginia creeper, not poison ivy.
You're lucky, if it was poison ivy your lungs would be fked
I thought he was burning poison ivy until I read your post, thank Goodness it was poison ivy
You need a 500,000 BTU torch. this one is weak ;)
Such a tiny bottle. I'd need like 100 of them to burn weeds on my property.
Get a large tank
I think it's easier to pick them, roots & all
Damn Peter! Didn’t I just see you in a video talking about golf clubs? You versatile AF!
hey peter panda, thanks for the video it was helpful xoxox
wow, yur grass looks good

Yes but it’s also heavy to use the larger ones. For an old lady like me with a bad back this should be good for my little yard

Wood burning tourtcj
This could have been videoed in 30 secs. Turn on propane, squeeze trigger !! Why does everyone want to be a ‘movie star’ ?! 🙄🙄
Dont be lazy. Chop those branches off. Much cheaper faster and easier.
Have you ever used a weed torch, with a VersaMule modular load harness?
