Its a very dangerous thing to cut too much weight and fighters have tried to do that in the past. As long as he is doing it properly and he isnt damaging his body too much. I dont see the problem with it. He is making the sacrifice to make the weight which is not easy to do. Ryan garcia literally quit midway through weight cutting cause he didnt want to cut anymore weight. Shakur stevenson missed weight by a pound or two and lost his belt on the scale. He didnt want to take the extra hour to see if he could drop another pound or two also. So what devin is doing is a double edged sword it has its advantages and disadvantages. Thats why its legal.
