I just opened the video and after 2 mins saw the buffer line and then realised it is a 52 mins video , with time increment and time control and the level of concentration of these top level players is just fantastic
I'm surprised that the arbiter didn't follow completeley the rule. The game should be replayed by the 2 players with the help of the arbiter, not the arbiter herself at the beginning. Nice intervention by Nikopoulos 😊
well can't understan why did they stop the game and went on reproducing it on an other board was there a wrong move? also coudn't see the final position it was bad filmed
I would think at this level, moves are tracked using a computerised/sensor board. A computer would say "no draw" in a nanosecond. To double check board malfunction, just verify player scorecards against computer record. No need to replay the moves manually.
Yes, but think about why we use human referee in olympic game. What is spirit of olympic or sports? The keyword is "Human's pure ability" Sports is done for improving human's pure ability. Sports needs to be done by human's pure ability. Also, judging the game should be basically done without help of device. When something is really difficult to judge, we can use device, but this time, human can figure out even though it took some time. We can use device at sports, but it should be used as a last chance, not as the first priority.
Ju Wenjun was ko after the match. The first action of the chinese delegation was to make pictures. That says it all. And no comforting words to Alexandra Kosteniuk. Very disapointing.
Alexandra trying to stall in a losing position, she should have resigned knowing she's a pawn down but decided to keep giving checks with the Queen; waste of time.
21:42 I was thinking for Ju she could block the check with her queen, yes that leaves the back pawn unguarded but first of all Kosteniuk has to move her queen or she loses it, and 2nd if Kosteniuk moves her knight to take the undefended pawn after getting the Queen to a safe square then the pawn that's one square away from becoming a queen, becomes a 2nd queen as it's undefended. Edit: the knight capturing the back pawn doesn't come with check so Kosteniuk loses if she tries it and by blocking the check then, I think Kosteniuk will have a hard time continuing trying to get checks in with her Queen
im confused AF she traded her 2nd queen for the Knight? why not just keep it on the board? Was it just a sacrifice to get the knight for a pawn in theory? Anyways, im guessing the final score was 0-1?
Why are women and men separated ? Whats the difference and why cant they compete against each other? I unterstand that in tennis or soccer men are physically stronger but why in chess?
Well aside from the Men actually being better at chess than women, even if it seems like a binary game, having a women's chess champion and mens chess champion gives more opportunity for people to fight for a championship.
Because of the sexual dimorphism. Not only are men physically stronger on average but also hardwired differently so that it makes them perform better at chess than women (again on average).
Debriefing of a Chess party. Kosteniuk thought, that there was a Repetition of chess moves in party ( this is was Mistake ( fantasy, Error, delusion, hallucination, "wrong step") and ABERRATION of Kosteniuk)
Is Ju arrogant? In this game, she was unable to be arrogant. Her team mates lost one, drew two games. AK was white, Juwas black. Russia could be the winner much easier than China as long as it is a draw. You get to admire Ju’s attitude that she fought 5.5 hours for her team won the gold medal.

China gold medal in the male and female. This final was dramatic, but deserved. Incontestable victory and deserved gold medal ...
This video is in every sense the best depiction of why I love playing chess. What an amazing ending.
the Chinese player was physically exhausted from the over try barely walking, and the slackers wanted to smile in photos !!
36:44 Incredible
Shut up.
wow
wish they had fixed camera

This Olympiad was amazing. Hope next time India will be amongst the medals.

All wiewers so interested to
See competition. I congratulate winner
& Opposite player
Kosteniuk is a wonderful person!
both players are.........
Still the World Champion!
from down a pawn to down a knight to resigning the game
Very Educational Indeed
Can't believe Kosteniuk blundered that. She must have been under a lot of stress/pressure.
she's old for chess
So made a claim to cool down
maybe PMS/PMT? lol
I mean, who wouldn't get distracted by "that"
I saw her with Carlsen at the world rapid in St. Petersburg. They seemed to be hitting it off real good. Who knows maybe something will come of it.
Kosteniuk? or Ju Wenjun?
well can't understan why did they stop the game and went on reproducing it on an other board was there a wrong move?
also coudn't see the final position it was bad filmed
I think the Russian player thought that the position had already repeated 3 times, which would mean a draw, and they proceeded to verify
@@goncalofreitas2094 She was stalling for time (according to Fabi)

I analysed with Deep Fritz one of my games. Suddenly he wrote : Perpetual. So you`re right!
Yes, but think about why we use human referee in olympic game.

Yes you`re right. The player has to remark if it is a perpetual, not the computer. This belongs to the game, makes it to sport.
una locura, ademas que impacienciente parecia kost, cuando la otra mujer bien lenta replicaba las jugadas, en verdad no entendi nada que sucedio
32:58 Never thought I could feel for some chess player's feet till I saw Alexandra Kosteniuk's
When she claimed repetition, I am sure that is not a good and efficient way to examine her claim. A lot of time was wasted there.
Ju Wenjun was ko after the match. The first action of the chinese delegation was to make pictures. That says it all. And no comforting words to Alexandra Kosteniuk. Very disapointing.
36:42 Yummy indeed
Alexandra trying to stall in a losing position, she should have resigned knowing she's a pawn down but decided to keep giving checks with the Queen; waste of time.
You're not totally right.
Russians dominancy in terms if attitude been there ... the way she was placing pieces to recheck clearly indicates..... !!
Before taking the Knight on f8 She could have played Qh5!
Ju seemed to be very tired they should have just given her some moment. she looked as if she was going to faint
Nobody there to console her? Strange! Alexandra, this happens in the 7. class, in the bundesliga, in chess, football and everywhere.
son fríos los rusos.
pienso quizas no es solo una problema rusa
Love Women'c Chess
what was the problem?

Chess is hard.
Shoulda used the troll and the horseface😃😃SNL with Keenan and Chad😂😂
Felt bad when everyone comes around Chinese player and kosteniuk is all alone there. where are her teammates?

Nice flats🥿 shoeplay🥰🥴
No one stayed with Alexandra at the end??....., she leave the room alone?.. wow..
Pavel Trigubov, her husband, was with her, but didn't say a word to her, just followed her in silence.
Esa chica acababa de darle el oro olímpico a China, y sin embargo no parecía contenta...
0:11 that man in the background resembles Mr Xi Jinping quite a lot maybe
Good... Full of drama
Why it so noisy over there? Like a jet plate warming up engines.
because it's with the volume full i guess.
Kosteniuk a Siberia!!

Chineses are strange human! Congratulation for the gold medal!
racist
Don’t shoot off your mouth. think

36,44 exellent
Why they change board at 27:06??
They were checking for three fold repetition which Alexandra Kosteniuk had claimed.
@Mikael Karlsson maybe Kosteniuk wanted it like this.
Only the commentators use the digital board. The arbitors and players just have to play on the hall with what they have.
Что у них произошло?
Love AK
Minuto 39:42 los pies de kosteniuk ya no daban más🤣
You must have edidted the video to show a small chess board
Una banana en juego
