    Hi! I’m Laura, homeschooling mom to three. I’m excited to share our homeschooling journey with you. We tend to follow a child led unit study approach to homeschooling. While I pull from many educational philosophies, if I had to pick one way to describe our homeschool, it would be Braveschooling (based on Julie Bogart's book "Brave Learner"). The thing about home education though, is that each family and life stage are so different. No two homeschools look the same. My hope is that by sharing my journey, I can offer support, encouragement, and inspiration to help you think outside the box to create a dynamic homeschool experience tailored to your family.
    “Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing.” ~1Thessalonians 5:11

    "How many Animals were on the Ark?" is one of my favorite books! I have given it as a gift. A great intro to genetics for kids.

    Thank you for this. I love these books and get distracted looking at other science curriculum 😅 but this is a great video on making curriculum fit your needs.

    We love the God's Design series as well. We used Life last year and it was great. This year, we're using Heaven and Earth. So thankful MB put together the AIG units. We really enjoy the activities as well. They are simple and impactful. Thank you for joining the collab!

    This is so helpful... thanks for sharing! We are using MB Adventures in Creation, Level 1 and Level 2. But I've been curious about this other MB Science as well. Hope you have a fun school year!

    This is sooo helpful! We did one of MB younger science books and didn’t care for it. This year we are doing BJU and like it so far. Maybe consider one of these MB sciences for next year.

    Great video!! Quick question. Which do you prefer? If you had to choose just one, based on how engaging it is for the child and how much the child will realistically retain, which one would you select TODAY between Gods Design and Real Science 4 Kids?? (Cost is not an issue and neither is there a need for "whole group" learning in my case). Thanks in advance! ❤

      Ohh. That’s a good question, and a hard one. So, so hard. For our personal needs with a unit study approach where I’m trying to integrate science, I would say God’s Design for sure. However, if I was teaching science as a separate subject and wasn’t going for whole group learning I would say Real Science 4 Kids - building blocks.
      This is not taking into account the child or children in question. I really do like the solid scientific method and explanations in Real Science 4 Kids. I think it’s truly the best for foundational knowledge. I feel like God’s design is better at applying it to every day accessible things.
      Is that helpful at all?

      They're my organization system for my home library. It helps the kids know where to put them on the shelves so we can all find what we're looking for. I have a video on my channel where I explain the system a little bit more.

    My son is going into 5th grade, 2022-23. We are coming from abeka science and wanted to try this out. Question i have do you think I should start with the life book or heaven and earth??

    • @TicketToLearning
      @TicketToLearning  2 роки тому +2

      Start with whichever one is most interesting to him. It doesn’t matter what order you do the books in. They don’t build on one another. :)

    I apologize if you already covered this, how would you stretch this book over more than a year?

    • @TicketToLearning
      @TicketToLearning  4 місяці тому

      It is intended to be used in one year but if you take more than one day on each of the lessons by adding supplemental materials or cover only one or two lessons per week these books can stretch for quite a while.

      I have a video that shows how I set everything up. It’s called “Homeschool Library Organization System” from a year ago.
      I’m getting ready to change everything up because the needs of my kids and how they look for books is changing, but the basic idea will be the same. I’m just changing the categories.

    We’ve been looking for a solid science curriculum and I’ve been leaning more towards this one for the 2023 school year. Question, my kids will be in Kindergarten and 2nd grade. Would you recommend using the beginner version of this curriculum or would this one be good for those ages?

    • @TicketToLearning
      @TicketToLearning  Рік тому +1

      I’ve never used the beginner one because this one fit so well for my kids. I would say for sure that it depends on your kids though. The samples online are pretty good for comparing the two.

    Hi, thanks for your video, is very helpful, however I have a question, do you use a book for the school year? I see they have like 4 main science topics ( Heaven and earth, The human body etc ) I dont know if I explain myself.

    • @TicketToLearning
      @TicketToLearning  2 роки тому +1

      I use them with unit studies, so I jump all around, but each book is intended to be used for a whole school year with three topics in each book. God’s Design for life has the human body, animals, and plants. God’s Design for Heaven and Earth has astronomy, earth science, and weather. God’s Design for the Physical World has Machines and Motion, heat and energy, and inventions and technology. God’s Design for Chemistry and ecology has matter, ecosystems, and atoms and molecules.

      I totally thought I responded to this, but I guess I didn't. Sorry it took so long. I use washi tape to help organize our home library. It helps the kids know where all the books go on the shelf while making it possible to find what we're looking for. I have a library organization video on my channel that explains it more. I hope that helps. Again, sorry for the delay in responding.
