I've been doing this lately but with the Abaca's with nice results + its cheaper than wave filters. I find it doesn't really clog/stall at all and also gives me better tasting results. Only downside is that this only works with certain flat bottoms with more narrow walls (orea,mountain,Kalita155) it doesn't sit quite right on things like the 185, Origami, and April dripper.
At Wal mart they make flat bottom v60 like papers. I have kalita 185 papers and I think they made my coffee taste dry as the v60 papers from Wal mart didn't.? Do you have any reasons why that happened? I used an origami coffee brewer on both.the coffee came from a Trade sub. Was roasted on Feb 2 2024. So it's a light medium roast. The flat bottom paper is unbleached paper. I rinsed both before using but the coffee dried my mouth from the kalita paper and not from the unbleached v60 flat bottom one.
Is your kettle sitting on a stand that allows your scale to slide under it? Great space saver! My pourover stuff is taking up way too much counter space 😢.
